Setting- a mechanical city by the sea that has a lonely feeling; sometime in the future
Point of view- First person; from boy's perspective
Conflict- The boy wants to find a place for "The lost thing"
Climax- The boy takes "The lost thing" to a secret world filled with all the other lost things and the two part.
Symbols- the train symbolizes monotonous repetition of everyday life
Irony- The person/odd thing that works as a sanitarian at the cold, gray building used to store the "odds and ends" advises the boy to not leave "The lost thing" at that building.
Theme- People are always too "busy" to notice the odd, interesting things that happen around them.
I really enjoyed watching this video. It had a nice mix of comedy and a melancholy feeling. Although I was happy that "The lost thing" had found its place, I thought it was sad that the boy, as he grew up, started to be like the other adults and started to not notice all the other "lost things".
