mermaid

Settings: The settings of this story could be anytime and anywhere that people were not allowed to imagine.

Conflict: The boy and society is the conflict in this story. He insisted that the fish he saved turned into a beautiful mermaid, but government didn't trust him and punished him because imagination is not allowed.

Symbol: The mermaid symbolizes freedom.

Irony: The boy resisted the government's pressure but he eventually lost his imagination.

Climax: He admitted that the mermaid was imagination, but he meets the mermaid again in the end.

Theme: To believe what you think no matter what others say.
