The fan and the flower

Setting a modern house maybe a few decades ago
Conflict fan and flower vs nature (aging, death)
Climax  the fan smashing through the roof
Symbol 
flower -beauty and weakness
Fan -person who thinks he is stuck in his world
Irony the fan could never touch the flower but it was able to sacrifice itself to save the flower.
Theme -there are things that can't be done without sacrifice
