Meaning of Ku Klux Klan

Mirei talked about historical events when talking about the background of her book report book, and there is where the word came up. We talked about the meaning behind this name, and I wonder if the name has any meaning at all. The internet gives answers like the following, The name was formed by combining the Greek kyklos (κυκλος, meaning circle) with clan. The group was known for a short time as the "Kuklux Clan."
