Book report #2

For my next book report, I'll be writing about Coraline. I listened to Ritsuko's presentation and thought it would be interesting to read. Also it has an animated film which I am excited to watch. I'll just have to read, read, and read for now...

reunion!!

And last Sunday, we had a home party in our new house. My grandparents and cousins came to our house and had delicious food that my mom made:)

Busy Weekend

I had a  really busy weekend this week.
On Saturday I watched the movie as I mentioned in the previous post, had my ballet lesson, did some homework, and practiced skating for four hours!
Today I had my tea ceremony job in a shrine, and then went to dinner with my family to celebrate my brother for passing shuukatsu. We ate Churrasco (Brazilian Barbecue) and it was great!

Well the main thing is, although I'm really tired now, I think I actually like keeping myself busy 😛

My home is like a hotel

Recently, my home is like a hotel for my friends😂😂😂 

More than 7 people came for a sleepover since I started living alone in Kanagawa. Like it because I don't feel lonely, and I have a lot of fun with each of them. My goal is to have more than 50 sleepovers in my home!

The very first ones this year

Three swallowtail butterfly caterpillars I caught last week are growing. I found one of them on a Japanese pepper tree in my garden and the rest of them on the same kind of tree near my house. They were less than 1 cm when I started raising them, but now over 2 cm. They’ll get twice as big as what they are now in a week. I’m looking forward to releasing them when they become butterflies successfully.

Boyfriend

I had tried to pretend to be like a quiet and modest girl since I became a college student, but I can’t do that anymore.

When I was in high school, I had a plan that if I become a college student, I’ll get a boyfriend at entrance ceremony, buy it didn’t work.....

Lately, I only talk with girls (^^).

It’s hopeless (^^). 💑👫💏

Rainy days

These past 2 days, it started raining right when I went outside, like LITERALLY. It started with just a drop and in just a second it started to rain heavily. This happens so frequently that I really believe I am a "Ame-onna". I am not looking forward for the rainy season because I hate rain.

I'm now at the outlet in Gotenba! I hope there are many clothes that I like!!

A Walk to Remember

Since Misaki's report attracted me a lot, I chose a Walk to Remember for my second book report.
I just finished watching the movie and it was wonderful! I ended up crying.
I've only read a few pages yet but I think I'm going to love this book.

Sleep

These days, even though I sleep at 1am, I wake up at 5am without an alarm.
It is good that I can spend more time on other things, but I want to sleep more.....

Rainy Prep

Rain boots, or at least waterproof shoes: yes! Having dry feet makes everything better . . .

Rainy season

Oh god, one of the worst seasons is coming up...rainy season.

I'm contemplating on whether I should buy rain boots.

Jekyll and Hyde

I picked up The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde for my second book report because I watched its musical on March. HOWEVER, I found it is almost completely different from the musical. Though I thought the musical was a little too dark for me, I liked its deep story and powerful songs. It is a good musical about moral philosophy. On the other hand, the book seems relatively shallow and also my favorite characters from the musical don't appear in the book.
I think this is an appropriate book for the book report as it has many characteristics but I may not be able to enjoy reading it...
Well.. I think I'll have to try hard not to write too much about the musical in my book report😂

Today, I ate gyukatsu (cutlet of beef)  with my friends. The meat was rare so we could roast it by ourselves. I really enjoyed eating a lot of tender meat because I love meat! After that, we went to a planetarium and had a good break.

A stranger kissed me this morning

I was at a bakery store to get my lunch. When I was about to leave the store, a guy asked me to have a seat next to him and I did. He is from LA for sightseeing, but he is leaving Japan at five this evening. We talked about random topics for half an hour. He said he liked my outfit and he liked my stocking, suddenly his hand when onto my leg! Then, before  we were to leave, he gave me a kiss on my cheek. I got surprised and upset. But I am happy to have had such an unordinary experience in this big city, Shibuya.

I love starbucks (although i cant drink coffee), and a couple days ago, they started the Hoji-cha frappuccino and went to the one near my house. I had a the frappuccino and it was delicious. When ordering, I found out that the seasonal drink which came out last year called cool lime came out this summer too. I think I will go to starbucks more often than I used to.

first job!

I started working at Sukiya! And the unbelievable thing is that my friend from elementary and junior high school is working there, too. I would never imagined that I would work with an old class mate from Shizuoka!!

   By destroying the nature, you are destroying yourself. That could mean the end of the world like an apocalypse, and the people who is trying to save it will have something in return.

Tohoku Gakuin

Last few days were the busiest days during my university life.
As Seiya said, I got to interact with the Tohoku Gakuin University as well, and we had a concert together. I also participated in the opening ceremony and saw people cheering.

I became good friends with the people in Tohoku Gakuin. I'm looking forward to seeing them again next year!

Bridget Jones's Diary

I know I am so late to talk about this but in case someone is interested...

For the first book report, I read Bridget Jones's Diary. It is literally a diary written by the main character, Bridget. She is in her 30s, single, and living in London on her own. She is so sick of everyone for asking her about her love life and when she is gonna get married. She becomes "very close" to her boss at work but she finds out he was marrying someone else. Thinking she has no luck on guys, she somehow find herself falling in love with a guy who she never imagined falling for.

Reading this as a 20 years old, I had hard time relating to it, so obviously it is a bit early for you guys who are 18, 19 years old. However, the film adaptation of this has been one of my favorite since I first saw it like 5 years ago! I recommend it to people who wants a good laugh.

  Destroying nature is never good for the environment , and also for the living animals as well. It will not be good for our health. Not many people realizes that, and you should think about the consequenses before anything worse happens.

Theme: Many people would get damage when their habitat is polluted. It is vital for us to think about the environment for the future, because once we lose it, it is hard to get it back. We should always think before we act, to keep the nice environment for future generations.

Summary
     There was a rabbit which liked to observe plants. There were plants everywhere and lots of rabbits live happily. However, one day, many buildings were set and all the plants were destroyed except a branch which he took from a tree. Also, the air became so polluted because of smoke from factories that lots of them became sick. He watered the branch every day, until clean water was all gone. However, the spores of the branch became huge and they put all the rabbits inside it. There was plants in the spore.

Setting: in London, rabbits world
Conflict: rabbits vs. nature
Climax: the branch died and there was no plants on the rabbits world.

Theme: Do not underestimate the nature. Do not destroy it, otherwise it would be hard for humans to live.

Theme: Think before you act, for this story, think about the natures that they've destroyed to build many buildings and having the nature back is not a easy thing, almost impossible to have it again.

On Saturday,

On Saturday, I took my dog to dog run. It was first time that hegot there, so he was frightened to meet other dogs, but he got used to it after several hours, so it was ok. I hope he enjoyed it too.

this weekend

There was a sports event by Aoyama and Touhoku Gakuin University. I am in a cheer group so I spent almost whole days cheering. I met cheer group from Touhoku Gkuin University. It was tiring but I enjoyed it.

     The moment the main character dropped off the bottle filled with water from his hands when he noticed his small tree was withering.

     Lots of animals carrying a buildings by using a rope : Industrial Evolution, Totalitarianism

     A brunch from the tree: nature, clean, treasure, hope 

     Water: an essential for both of creatures and plants 

     Air pollution: a dirty and unhealthy atomosphear that human live in.

     Buildings and animals colored in black tone: the polluted building and animals with no hope

     A new environment in the jellyfish: place where there is nothing impossible. All-created world by someone/something.

     Take care of nature because once you destroy the nature completely, it is impossible to make it as it used to be. They escaped from the urbanized world they lived because they thought the world won’t recover anymore. Then, they will never come back to the world and will continue to live in a strange object shaped like a jellyfish. Even the main character that treated nature kindly seemed to be  satisfied with the new environment with a lot of plants, not knowing who/what crates the new world that they moved in.

Theme:
Once you destroy the nature, it is hard to bring back what it used to be. Making the society industrial and convenient will definitely makes our life much more easier to live,but not forgetting about nature is a lot more important thing to do. We must take care of our environment.

            A white animal with long black ears that looks fairly close to a rabbit. He is seen to treasure the green environment.

             A female version of the animal explained above. She is also affected by the urbanization of the once green land and treasures the plant, the character above gave her.

Setting:

            Current times where urbanization is occurring. Once a field that was covered with nature life but is corrupted due to the industrial buildings and factories made.

Conflict:

            Person vs Nature – the characters in this video are trying to fight back against the corruption of nature.

Climax:

            When the jellyfish-like bubbles are starting to take the “chosen” characters inside of the unpolluted space.

Symbols:

            The jellyfish bubble – God/chosen land (maybe heaven?)

            the tall buildings – urbanization (development of the mankind)

            the branch from the tree – the only remaining light of hope

            water – an essential for living things to consume

            the lack of sunlight after the buildings have been constructed  - unable to see clearly about what is right and wrong (blurred lines)

Theme:

            The destruction of the environment cannot be stopped once it has started, so people have to be careful about what they wish on constructing before they ruin the whole society.

FURUGI!!!!

I think secondhand  clothes actually match my style but it is not so easy to go shopping for them because I am not used to it. One of my high school friends is very familiar to Shimokutazawa where many secondhand stores are available. So she and I started to deal with our schedules to hang out. I’m so excited!

Yesterday and the day before yesterday, I went to the practice of men’s lacrosse team as usual. I came back home at 11:00am, and had lunch, and did nothing but just do my phone or sleep. I should have go out or do my homework😭. I wasted so much time😣

Coraline book review

For my book report I’ve read the book call “Coraline”.
The book was published in 2002 and it turned out to be a stop motion film in 2009.
Claire said  it was seriously creepy and scary, and she is right! The movie is creepy!
Basically the story is kind a gloomy and dark, but it has a great ending and let you think about you family and your way of thinking about life.

Ok, I needed to my blog, but sadly I just forgot so I’m doing it now....
However it’s already June?! I can’t believe it....
I still feel like I’ve just entered this school?! Time flys exteramly fast, I’ll try to make everyday something special.

The left side of my ear hurts really bad these days 😱

There is one hole on the one side, and somehow TWO holes on the other side 😱😱

It’s been about three months since I pierced my ears, but it’s still bleeding! 😱😱😱

Disney on Classic

I went to Disney on Classic yesterday. As I chose the date of  program B, I could enjoy a lot of villans' songs such as "The Mob Song" from Beauty and the Beast and "Be Prepared" from The Lion King. The song I liked the best was "Hell Fire" from The Hunchback of the Notre Dom.
Also, there were special editions of "Enchanted," "Tarzan" and "Coco." Though I Have never watched "Tarzan" and "Coco," it was so much fun because while the singers were singing, the scenes from the movies were projected on a screen.
It was the second time I went to Disney on Classic, but I wanna go again someday.

Sleepy!!!!!!

It has been almost 2 months since we started our university life!! Time flies!! :)
I really like my IE class and enjoying being with my friends everyday.

But there is one thing...
there are too many things to do in everyday life!! I have club activities 4 times a week and most practices end at 9 pm which means I go home passed 12 o'clock. I also do a part-time job. It is really hard for me to manage my time! I need to learn how to manage my time and get enough sleep. Right now, I only get to sleep for 5 hours at the most. Thanks to that rhyme of life, I get really tired and sleepy all the time.

     A female version of the rabbit-like creature who lives on the same floor as him. She is also a botanist. The boy loves her so much that he took a part of his precious plant and gives it to her as a present.

         The gray colored creature looks like a rabbit is a worker that works in a city which implies the slavery system. They are in a bad mood that is like a depression
         The jelly fish-liked animal grows more and more if the town gets dirty and finally explodes and rescues the one suffering in the city.

Boxing game

So happy that all of our Aoyama Gakuin Boxing club player won our second game of the tournament.
We're looking forward to get into the third league:)

•  The protagonist is a white male rabbit-like animal which has black years. He loves and treasures green so much. He likes the heroine. While others get used to new life in the grey city, he is accustomed incompletely.
• The heroine is female versioned animal of the protagonist. She is his neighbor. When he gives her a part of his plant, she starts to care about him.

Setting : This video is set somewhere in the world in the future.

Conflict: The protagonist vs. society

Climax: The climax is when the jellyfish-like things start to take the citizens into themselves.

Symbols:

Since my third period class was off yesterday, I went to karaoke with my friend. It was super fun!
We also went to Starbucks and drank Affogato frappuccino.
I'm glad it was still on sale. I thought the period was over!

I am so happy I survived this week cause two essays were due, and also had an exam in other class. Usually I work both Saturday and Sunday but this week I'll go get my hair cut and take dance classes on Sunday:) Happy Friday!!!!
