Obachan′s garden is a very sad story. She moved to Canada because of the big earth quake that struck Kanto. She was very depressed from her thought that she was not doing a mother and a wife good enough. In this story the picture marriage was omiai in Japanese. The wild garden is a simbol for depress. This story kind of remind me of the earthquake in 311. Now that some time has past. We have to do and think more hardly, we shouldn't expect something from the government.

Obachan's garden was very interesting and the scene when she finally found her daughter was very touching. I think Obachan's secret was that she was married to another man before, and had two daughters.

The film was interesting and I liked the scene when Obachan finally meets her daughter. Obachan's secret was that she used to marry with a man and she had 2daughters.

① Because the shame of giving birth to an unhealthy son made her a failure as a wife and a woman, marrying the oldest son of a very prominent family.
② She was a very sociable person. She was also Japanese-ness for her family in Canada, singing often the traditional songs and the dance.
③ She had another husband and their children back in Japan. She could never forget about them.
④ A woman getting married to the man simply through a exchange of photoghraphs. In those days, it was the only way for a woman like Obaachan to leave Japan for a foreign country.
⑤ Obaachan was like her wild garden in that she always tried to accept her life as it was.
Until I watched the movie, I had never realized the hardships Japanese Canadians had during WWII. They must have been in such a difficult position as the two countries they were closely related to were fighting against each other. Especially, I couldn't imagine how sad it must have made Obaachan when she heard an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, her home prefecture in Japan. I was very touched by the scene of her great sorrow. And how she brought the whole story into the very emotional climax, outstanding. She is a very talented movie director.

The film was gloomy and sad but it was also interesting because when we learn the history about WWII, we usually learn about Japan attacking America and America fighting back.

Kanto earthquake robbed her of her house and teared apart her family. She moved to Canada because she thought living in another country comfort her great sorrow. She was happy there because she made friends and got a good man. Her deep dark feel is that she had two children but earthquake robbed her of them. Picture bride means "omiai" in Japanese.Wild garden is a symbol of her, because it represents her sorrow.

The day before yesterday, I went to Shinjuku to purchase some clothes. A jeans I bought there was 5000 yen higher than I had expected... but it is so nice that I don't care!

Today
In today's 5th period class, teacher passed around the microphone and asked questions to some students.
Actually, I was one them, and I was sooo embarrassed because I couldn't answer to teacher's question...

my eyes
Every year in spring, there is a week that my eyes gets killed. Last week it was terrible. All the pollen came to my nose, throat, and my eyes and it felt like I had a cold, or I might just had a cold. But my eyes aren't related to cold. It is only related to pollen. When the spring pollen comes to my eyes, it gets extremely itchy and even if you don't itch your eyes feel like burning. Over the past years, my eyes itched so bad that I had to go to the eye doctor. This year, I didn't had to go to the doctor but I had a extremely irritating week. I really hope that a cure for pollen comes out. It kills me every single year.
Yesterday
I came back from a little trip to Ibaraki with the people in the circle I'm in.
Do you really say "circle" in English? I searched it on the online dictionary and it said "circle" so I think people will understand but... should I say "club"?

This was very good film. Obaachan moved to Canada to see her husband who had never met with before. She didn't like him and she felt she want to go back to Japan. She's from Hiroshima, and the sad part was they had huge bomb which destroyed everything. Obaachan's secret was that she had two daughter in Japan. Obaachan remembered them by seeing a photo of them. She owned the violin which she had been playing since she was little.

I went to the hospital to see my friend. She was in same high as mine. Recently, she broke her leg so I thought It would be good if I visit her and have fun spending time together:) I'm glad how she looked happy!
Yesterday
I went to church yesterday! As I said before, I go to church
every Sunday, but yesterday was quite different. After morning service
was over, I went to another church in Kannai which one of ACF member
usually go. She invited me to "Hawaii Party"! A lot of Christian came
from Hawaii and I had a lot of opportunity to talk with them in English
so it was very exciting for me(^-^)/we played games, ate pizza or other sort of things.
It was so much fun!

Not that I love apples, but since where I'm from is known for apples, I just want to say that I'm surprised to see that an apple is sold at about 150 yen in grocery stores around where I live. It's so overpriced I would never want to buy it. Back in my hometown, my neighbors would always give us lots of apples in fall, of course for free. They were always around in fall and winter. For me, they are still not something to buy to eat. They are just around, full in a box in the corner of the room, or some leftovers of a pared, cut one in the fridge, or in liquid form (applejuice). What's even funnier is that I don't even remember apples being sold in grocery stores in my hometown, and I don't think they ever are, beacause most people there can get them for free in some way.

Today I did my homework, that is, reallyenglish.
But I didn't finish the Interaction and the Media Discussion.
So, from now on, I'll do the Interaction and I'm going to finish my Media Discussion on Wednesday.
Tomorrow I have some classes from the first period.
I wonder I can get up the time. If I can't get up 7 a.m., I'll be late for the class!!

Obaachan's Garden
This movie is about the filmmaker’s grandmother, Asayo Murakami’s
life. She was hit by the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923 and cut off from her
families. After that she moved to Canada for a picture bride, and got many hard
experiences there. She was always thinking about her daughters, Humiko and
Chieko. In 1945 the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, where is Asayo’s hometown,
and so she fell into despair. At the end of the story she finally met Chieko, who
had been believed to be dead of atom-bomb.
I think this movie shows family bonds, and tells us about the
importance of keeping on living without giving up.

It was a very good movie, but little bit scary. The mood which hangs in the whole movie is something I have seen in a foreign TV program which is about Oriental culture. It is like it has some incomprehensible, unearthy and unfamiliar atmosphere. Even the movie was about Japan, because of it's direction, I felt it's about something completely unknown. Also it had some feelings related to Japanese horror movies. Plain, mentally harmful and bizarre. However, it was a very good documentary. Obaachan's story seemed very genuine and I could feel pieces of feelings of the hardships she has experienced at the time. Although it's completely different, I have also experienced unwilling study in an overseas country, so I think I can understand how she felt at least a little bit when she was in need to go abroad.

My plan
I'll go to Yamada Denki to purchase a digital camera. I need my own camera because I'll go to Tokyo Disney Resort with my friends and seniors of football circle!! I can't wait!!!!

Wao Yoka used to be in takarazuka several years ago. She was so cool and beautiful!!

E-book
I think E-books are very useful because you don't need to carry heavy books and there is no need for you to go out to the book store to buy books.
But I think paper books also have good points. I personally feel it more comfortable when reading paper books than E-books. I feel less tired after reading paper books.

I partly agree with the idea of e-book, since my bag doesn't need to be bulky.
Also, it can change the brightness of the backlight so I don't need to choose a place to read.
However, personally, I don't really like reading e-book. I used to read a book through iPad, and it used to sting my eyes. So I prefer paper books than e-books.

My dance circle has some event next week. Not only 2nd grade but also freshman are going to participate in it. So I am practicing very hard now(>-<)

I think all books should be digital. It may be bad for our eyes,
but the convenience wins! I am tired of carrying my heavy
