Obaachan moved to Canada because she couldn't give birth to healthy son, and that was regarded as a failure at that time. Obachan's bright and cheerful personality is one of the good things about Obaachan.
Obaachan's biggest secret was that she has two secret daughters. Before she set off to Canada as a picture bride, which means you'll marry someone just by looking at each other's photos, she was separated from her two daughters.
I'm so glad that Obaachan was able to meet one of her children at the end. I think her silence hurt her feeling, but it was wise decision.
