What is the message behind this story?
The citizens (mainly in the United States) lives are dominated by marketing and logos. Our desire to acquire certain products are being controlled by the impression of brands made by commercialization. Therefore, this movie is constructed so the audience imagines and mindfully puts together the information. The movie itself is blunt and fairly empty contained.
Why do you think the animators chose Ronald McDonald to be the crazy killer?
Ronald is a part of a big fast food industry, McDonald's. Many citizens from the United States are diagnosed with diabetes or seen to be rather overweight, and even they are aware of their health, many people still continue to eat fast food. I believe this has a lot to do with the way McDonald's advertises itself. McDonald's (aka the king of fast food) is secretly a killer since it can cause many people bad health, and the fact that Ronald continues to run away freely from the “police” suggests the fact that McDonald's is getting away about providing such unhealthy food.
Irony?
After the world ends, slow chill music starts to play.
The car that Ronald was driving said free shipping but to only 48 states even though it is all the same United States.
Usually many movies/films contain advertised products that are well blended with the scenario but for this case, each cut includes at least one brand/logo. This film is created and put together with the help of the logos. Instead of hiding and blending the brands, it is full on exposing them.
