Summary
Four refugees from Syria were interviewed by the people from Duolingo, a company which encourages people to learn new languages. Each of them had different stories about leaving their country behind and settle in another country.
The meaning of the title
Four of them fled from Syria to different countries. The reason why the title is “something like” home is because they all feel like their second home country as home, but not exactly.
The message from the video
The four of them all shared the same difficulty when they fled to another countries; a language barrier. The most important thing when you live outside of your own country is a language to communicate with people living there.
Problems and Solutions
It would be hard for people such as refugees to spend money on education and to find the opportunities to learn new languages, so free and accessible environment in doing so would be a good solution.
