I didn't think about the actual historical background behind this piece. When asked about the theme of this movie, I only thought about what the movie was trying to tell us. I didn't consider about what had been going on at the time this movie was made. It made me think more about the relationship between the boy and the people who were living in Japan at that time.
Also, I have a question to fellow bloggers:
How would you feel if you were living in a country that did not allow imagination? Also, what would you do if you were in the boy's situation?
For me, I would hate it. I love imagining things. I love reading fictional stories, especially Harry Potter. So if the world decided to ban imagination and destroy fantasy stories, I would try to get out of this place. Also, if I was the boy, I might have done the same thing. I can't imagine trying to live in a world without imagination!
