Seems like everyone has written about the video we watched last week. I just want to add to it. The main characters were the boy and the government. It was set in a country where day dreaming was not allowed. It's seems that the boy had no friends and was lonely, so he imagined the fish to be his girlfriend. To the boy, they were the perfect couple and he even introduces his imaginary girlfriend to his family.  The government doesn't allow the boy to imagine the mermaid as his friend/girlfriend. The government tries to condition the boy with shock therapy to stop the day dreaming. In the end the boy had enough and when out to sea with the imaginary mermaid. In the real world, what probably happened next was he committed suicide in the water because of all the criticism from the people. However, the boy could have wished very hard and also turned into a merman and swam away with the mermaid and live happily ever after. Lesson? I would say let kids dream because that's how kids can learn to have hope. Also, even thought people put you down, believe in yourself and your dreams will be a reality.
