Genpatsu-kun and Nuclear Boy

On Friday in our listening class, we watched two videos on the nuclear power plant in Fukushima. The videos were made soon after the earthquake happened. I thought the videos were appropriate and I cant say its fully effective but it is somewhat effective to teach the children by using ‘’poop.’’ I dont think there is anything strange in the way they explained, except for the expression which they used in the video was kind of dirty but other than that, it is made easy for children to understand. The two videos had the same content but in my opinion, English version was easier to understand than the Japanese version. The difference between the two videos is the character in the video. I think it's because the character in English version was more realistic and serious than the Japanese version and that might draw attention to children.
