Summary
The story starts off where the protagonist is looking after different plants in a field when suddenly tall buildings start to appear out of nowhere destroying and polluting the field. The protagonist manages to save a last surviving plant and tends to it while he is forced to be a slave to the cruel society that was created. He develops feelings for another one of his kind, but is too shy to confess. Magical glowing beads form from the surviving plant and stick to random areas around the buildings and grow overnight. Every body starts to get sick and as it seems that all hope is lost, the glowing beads turn into giant jellyfish and start saving the protagonist and his kind. The story ends as he wakes up in a field inside the jellyfish with the plant he cared for and realizes he is in the same jellyfish as the one he has feelings for.
Reaction
I found this story to be a little racist towards the end when the jellyfish were only saving the varmint and his kind. It is not proven that the other creatures are the ones who caused the corruption of the land or did anything bad in general to receive such a cruel death. I think that everyone deserves a second chance and that the jellyfish should have saved everybody instead of just the varmints.
