mermaid

The film Mermaid by Osamu Tezuka made me think on people's values. It takes place in a world where people's values are not accepted easily. This film was in 3rd person's view and its conflict was value versus society. The climax was at when the society could not let in the idea of the mermaid. The symbol is the mermaid. It probably represents imagination or value. Irony, I thought was that the boy was able to reimagine the mermaid after he could no longer see the mermaid. Well I this film teaches that it is ok to have your own imagination.
