Summary- In this short video, "Octapodi", two octopuses, an orange male one and a pink female one, appear. One day, the pink one is taken by a male driver in a white tank top. The orange one, who realizes that the pink octopus will be cut up to be devoured by humans, goes on an adventure to save her.
Relationships- The orange male and pink female octopuses who are in love live in the fishing tank at a fresh market. The orange octopus is dead set on saving the pink female octopus, but the male driver will not easily give up his food.
Goals- The orange octopus wants to save the female one. The female octopus is hoping to escape safely with the orange one. However, the male driver's goal is to bring home the pink octopus so it can be cooked up nicely.
Conflict-The two octopuses want to escape but the driver doesn't want to let them do so.
How they solve conflict- The octopuses and the driver fight with each other. The driver tries to punch the orange octopus, use the windshield wiper and fling him off the front window, and even smashes both octopuses on the roof of the car. The octopuses fight back by pulling the side brakes, using people's pools to escape, and spitting ink on the driver's face. Because the driver was too focused on fighting with the octopuses, he didn't notice the clothes wire. The octopuses get caught on it and are able to escape from the man. The man is not able to stop the car in time, and he falls into the ocean along with his car.
End- The two octopuses are finally able to take a breath, but a seagull comes and snatches the orange male one into the air. The pink female octopus is shocked at first, but her anger builds up and she uses the clothes wire as a sling shot and shoots herself at the seagull.
I think the female octopus is able to save the male octopus. Her sling shot method will probably make the seagull drop the male octopus, and although they will probably get chased by the seagull, I'm sure they will escape somehow. They have an intense attachment to each other, so I'm pretty sure they will never stop until they are happily together.
But in my opinion, if more sequels of this movie were to be made, I think it'll be funny if one of them kept getting snatched at the end. Life is just one obstacle after another, but I'm sure the octopuses will one day live happily ever after.
