Mermaid

The main character of this story is a boy who likes to imagine. One day, he founds a fish and start to imagine if that fish become into a mermaid. He falls in love with the mermaid, and started to think his fantasy is taking place in the real world. However, though he shows the mermaid to his family, they couldn't see anything but only a fish. And since imaginating was banned in his country, the boy got arrested. He was tortured and gradually he forgot how the mermaid looked. But in climax, he recalls the mermaid and was able to live with fantasy again.
I think the author wanted to tell us we cannot force or interfere with people's mind.
