In
this short animation, there are two running octopuses and one man who tries to
capture them. The relationship between those two octopuses seems to be that
they are in love. However, I find that there can be so many other options. They
can be a mother and daughter or a father and son. Possibly, they were born in
the fish tank so they live without knowing the outside world.
The movie is
taking a place where seems to be a beautiful village in Greek. The sun is
shining and people are laughing and relaxed. This can be showing a contrast against
the commotion the octopuses are making. One is having a good day under sunshine
and the other is running for their life.
The interest of the octopuses and the
capturer is totally the opposite. The man is running after the octopuses so
that he can bring them to a restaurant to cook, and the octopus is just trying
to save, I suppose, his love. Therefore, both two sides cannot conquer what
they need or want to do. The movie in the end however, ended as the capturer
failed to get the octopuses and an eagle came down also to get them.
If
there is a sequence to it, I reckon there will be babies of the eagle appear in the
movie. It is very hard to tell what it is this movie is trying to tell us since
it is created in very cheerful style containing lots of moments bring us
laughter.
Yet, what I felt from watching the movie is that the creator wanted
to describe the inevitable dilemma in a life. Everyone has their own stories.
The man needs to complete his job in order to earn enough money for his family
to get by. The octopus certainly needs to save his love and probably, the eagle
might need to feed her babies. We all need to do something just to survive and
sometimes, there is a sad consequence to others we usually do not even care or
realize they exist.
