Summary
Stanley Pickle lives in a house near the woods with his parents. They seem happy, but actually the parents are already dead and they are moving by the clockwork which Stanley has made. One day he sees a girl crying because her friend bird died. He tries to make her happy by fixing the bird but it scares the girl and she runs away. Stanley realizes the importance of reality and starts a new life without his parents.
