Apple Cake

I made an apple cake. It was pretty easy making with pancake mix. It took less than an hour. The cake was bit too sugary but it's still nice.

It is convenient to buy dish at shops when have no time for cooking but I try making meal by myself because it’s cheaper. Also, when I do cooking, I concentrate on it and don’t have to think about anything, that reduces my stress.

I want an oven and a big pot now so that I can bake cookies and scones, and make curry. I can’t afford them, I’m thinking to ask for Santa.

If you have a good recipe, let me know!

Oktapodi

Conflict:When pink octopus was taken away, orange one went chasing track driver to escape her. After orange one overtook the track, he started fighting with track driver. That is the conflict of this story.

Climax: While track driver was chasing two octopus, he didn't watch anything but them. Then, he drove falling into the ocean.

Theme: If you do something bad, you would be punished in any way. That is the theme of this story.

Symbol: Two Octopus and track is the symbol of this story. They show how creature become materials we eat everyday.

Irony: When two octopus were hugging each other, pink one was taken away, suddenly.

Oktapodi

Character: driver, male octopus, female octopus

Conflict: couple( male and female octopus) versus track driver

Climax: The climax of this video is when two octopi were finally escaped from the man.

Symbol: Two octopi saving and helping each other symbolizes true love.

Irony: When two octopi thought they are finally safe, another enemy came and started to battle again.

Theme: Not to give up

Part time job

I work in a coffee shop called Honolulu Coffee in Kichijoji. The reason why I chose this coffee shop is because I love pancakes and asaii bowl. There are many kinds of pancakes and seasonal menus, and everything is so delicious. The one I like the most is "original pancake" and "nutti hawaian coffee". Original pancake only costs 680 yen and you can put maple syrups as many as you like. Nutti hawaian coffe is a latte that includes coconut and macadamia syrups. You should try one of these when you have a chance to go there. If Kichijoji is too far for you to go, Honolulu Coffee is also located in the Omotesando, so I would recommend you to go there once.

Pancake!

Yesterday, I went to eat a pancake with Megumi and Momoko using our free time until the next class.

We searched on our iPhone where the good pancake was, and finally decided to go here.
As you can see from the picture, it was tall, fluffy pancake with butter and ice cream. It was really yummy!!!
What was great about here was that its cost. How much do you think this pancake cost?
Well, the answer is, only about 700 yen. In Tokyo, there are many tasty pancakes, but most of them costs more than 1,000 yen, but this cafe welcomes us with yummy pancake and wonderful cost performance!

You should try it someday!

The movie "KINGSMAN"

Yesterday, I watched "KINGSMAN". Do you know this movie? Its movie is my favorite and it was the best in the movie that I watched these days.
There is a high quality suit shop "KINGSMAN" in London, actually, this shop's side bussiness is spy. This movie is R15, so the force of the killing each other caused in demiworld was very great.
The funny point of this movie is the scene of people killing each other are described in a comedy style.

I recommend you this movie.

Oktapodi

Setting: in Greece on a nice fine day (not for the octopus couple)

Conflict: an octopus tries to save the other octopus from one who tries to capture them

Climax: It's when the octopus couple finally escaped from the man and they thought they were safe and sound. But then, a seagull came and took away the orange octopus from nowhere. This makes the viewers imagine how the story would go on. It's enjoyable.

Symbol: The octopus represents how weak ones struggles in the shade. Even though this whole story goes on in the middle of the city, no one was watching them having a conflict. There was one bald man sitting under the beach parasol, but he didn't even took a look at them. Many times like in bullying, it happens where nobody are looking or there are somebody, but they just ignores it. People only actually notice them after some big problems. In this video maybe the citizens noticed after the big sound of the crash or the splash, which the man smashed right into the wall with a truck into the ocean.

Irony: the octopus couple escaped from one enemy, however, another enemy came and got captured

Theme: No matter how much difficulties occurs to you, do not give up

Cooking

About two weeks ago, I bought two new wood plates and some tableware. That’s because I decided to improve my cooking skills.
I now living alone but I’m not good at cooking so I often ate pasta for dinner because it is easy to cook and I really like it. However, I realized that pasta is not good for health so I bought some new dishes to motivate me to cook! Since that day, I’m cooking dinner almost every day. Little by little, I begin to like cooking.
This weekend, I will cook hamburger and vegetable soup. Hope it will go well!

Today's lunch time.

Today, after first period, I ate lunch with Kaho and Momoko.
We all wanted to eat sweets like pancake so we searched for a good cafe to eat it.
Kaho found a nice cafe called ‘jinguen’ so we decided to go there.

I ate waffle and the two of them ate pancake. Also we shared http Neapolitan.
It was so delicious and what was more, very affordable price.
While eating, we talked a lot about our school life in Aogaku.
I had a really good time.
I'm glad to get along with them through the IE classes.
Hope to hang out together another time.

My childhood friend

I met one of my friends yesterday.
She and I have been friends for about 15 years!
We have similar personalities and I agree very well with her.
(In addition, even our names are similar. Her name is Akari.)
We ate dinner together and then went to starbucks.
We talked about our college lives and so on.
I was very happy because she looked fine.
I want to be friends with her forever.
We will have a sleepover party next month.
I can`t wait for it :-)

Favorite thing

Do you use youtube?
I like to watch some videos on youtube. My recent favorite video is by Yuuka Kinoshita. Do you know her? One of my friends recommended me to watch. In her video, she eats many sweets or foods. I can't believe the number of foods that she ate. When I watched her video for the first time, I was surprised at her appetite. I  wonder why she is so thin. If you are interested in it, please check it out. There are many funny youtuber so you might find your favorite youtuber.

I watch other videos, too. I watch music videos and some videos about life style in foreign country as morning routine.
I think youtube is very good source for us to know many things and listen to music for free.

The moon is beautiful

Hello.

I know this is sudden, but do you know this expression meaning of “The moon is beautiful.”?
As you know, everyone use this sentence when some people are looking at the beautiful moon like super moon last week.
However, there is another meaning in this sentence

This sentence is the substitution for saying “I love you.”
This interpretation was made by Soseki Natsume.
Soseki said that Japanese won't say “I love you” directly because they are shy.
If you say “the moon is beautiful”, woman will understand you want to say “I love you”, and this is Japanese spirit. Soseki said.

I think this is beautiful way to express the feeling. It is so cool.
If you are said “The moon is beautiful”, you should reply “I am ready to die.”
This sentence was introduced in Japanese TV drama called Date.
If you are interested in it, you should check it out!

In this drama, my favorite actor Hiroki Hasegawa appeared! I will write about him someday!

My favorite Japanese actor

Go Ayano is my favorite Japanese actor. I first saw him on the screen when he was acting in Asadora from NHK. He was very handsome and I was fascinated by him. I like his voice. His voice is very gentle. Also he is eyes is some kind of sad and painful. So think he is a suitable actor of love story.

Also, I like Erika Sawahiri. She is the most beautiful actress I have ever seen. In the past, she was hated by the press because her attitude towards them was horrible. And after she got married she kept away from the screen but recently she has come back. She came back as a wonderful and nice actress and I like her very much. She was a trouble maker but now she has grown and fascinated people.

Information skills.

I love Monday because I only have one class.
At the first semester, I always went straight back home but at this semester, after my class finish,
I`m going to go to the computer room to do my information skills.

Since I`m not good at using the computer, it isn`t easy for me to acquire computer skills but I want to
earn my information skills credit as soon as possible.

Good Night.

Ramen Museum

On Saturday, I went to Ramen Museum in Shin Yokohama with my club members.
It was my first time visiting Ramen Museum. There were so many ramen shops inside the museum so it was hard deciding which to eat. I chose miso ramen and it was delicious.
I also liked the atmosphere of old townscape. It made me feel like I was in a different time.
I had so much fun and it was great visiting there!

Oktapodi

Setting: Summer in Greece.
Characters: Two octopuses, a man
Conflict: Octopus vs. Human
Climax: The man's truck crushed into the sea and two octopuses were safe.
Irony: Two octopuses got away from the man, but another enemy comes and takes the orange octopus away.
Symbol: Octopus represents the criticial feeling  of an animal that gets eaten by human.
Theme: Always be greatful for what we eat.

Oktapodi

We watched a short video, "Oktapodi".

Theme: The food chain. All living things try hard to survive but the relationship between each of them is just "to eat" or "be eaten". It sounds a bit merciless, while it shows dynamic vitality.

Conflict: Octopuses vs. other animals which try to eat them.

Setting: This story is set in present-day Greece. We can see many beautiful houses which are painted all white; it is characteristic of the Mediterranean style architecture. Also the title is written in Greek. The man is driving a car, therefore the story is set in the present day.

Character: The main character are two octopuses; the orange one (male, I guess) and the pink one (female). Others are two enemies. The man who intends to sell the pink one and the seagull which takes away the orange one at the end of the story.

Climax: The climax is the very last part. As orange octopus is taken away by the seagull. Once we are relieved that they can escape from the man, though, unexpected enemy appears right away. It surprises us very much indeed.

Irony: I think there are two points. First, people's defeat in the story. Generally humans are regarded as the top of the food chain. So it is incredible that two octopuses overcome a man. Moreover, he finally falls into the sea where octopuses inhabit; it is completely reversal.
Second, the uncertainty of two octopuses' life. This story ends with the scene that seagull picks one of them up and fly away. Although they won the man, more closer enemy threatens their life soon after. We cannot expect the ending; they may survive or not. Thus it relates to the irony.

Oktapodi

Setting: A city at Greece in summer time.

Character: A male octopus, a female octopus and a tradesman who sells octopuses. Two octopuses are a couple.

Conflict: Two octopuses versus the tradesman. A tradesman is trying to separate them.

Symbol: I think symbols in this animation are octopuses. Octopuses are symbolizing the weak people. Throughout this animation, I learned that the weak can defeat the strong.

Climax: After the male octopus ran after the car a tradesman rode in, two octopuses were luckily able to escape from the car. The climax is the scene.

Irony: Although two octopuses were able to escape from the tradesman and felt relived, instead of a
female octopus, the male octopus were kidnapped by a seabird.

Theme: Don’t be relieved right away. I think this is the first theme. The second theme is that the weak can defeat the strong if the weak are struggling.

Climax : whem they finally fled from a man

Symbols: their big eyes represent how big their love are

Theme : Human should not be selfish.
Love will be stronger through overcoing difficulties.

Oktapodi

Setting: Some town at Greece in summer time.
There were two octopuses and a man in this story. Two octopuses were loving
each other, and a man makes a living for selling octopuses. So their relationship is products and a buyer.

Conflict: Two octopuses were in conflict with a man because a man tried to separate a pair of lovers.

Climax: Two octopuses tried to escape from a man. Two octopuses were finally saved because a man fell into the sea. Two octopuses were looking each other and felt relief. This is the climax in this story.

Symbols: Octopuses are the symbol in this story. Octopuses represent love. Two octopuses fought against a man using their soft bodies however hard it is. It indicates the power of love never failed.

Irony: The irony in this film is when two octopuses finally saved from a man, and they felt relieves. However, in that moment, the male octopus was taken away by a bird.

Theme: Theme in this film is “ Human should thank animals more, and eat food.”

This short film taught me animals have feeling as well as human. It is usual for human to eat food, but we have to recognize there was a victim.

Oktapodi

Setting: Somewhere in Greece near the ocean.

symble: octopuses are the symble of fighting between animals and humans

Irony: octopuses thought they sucseeded from being killed but then another enemy arrives.

Theme: One misfortune followed close on the heels of another.

Celeste and Jesse Forever

I watched Celeste and Jesse Forever. Has anyone seen this movie before?
It is an American movie from 2012. The story is about married best friends, Celeste and Jesse, who are now going through a divorce. Although, they are still a best friends. They both start going out with different person but can't stop thinking about each other.

I really liked the movie! It's worth watching it. I want to marry someone I can have a friendship like Celeste and Jesse's. Though, I don't like the ending. It is not a bad ending but not my kind of ending either.

Oktapodi

Setting: in Greece, 2007 (year that the movie was made)

Characters: the Orange Octopus, the Pink Octopus, and the Human
The Orange Octopus and the Pink Octopus are in love with each other. The Human is a predator. He wants to cook the octopus.

Conflict: The octopuses want to be together, but the human separates them. He takes the Pink one to cook.

Climax: two octopuses survive from being cooked and eaten. The human falls into the sea.

Symbols: Octopus; symbol of food, bravery

Irony: Two octopuses survive but when they think they can finally be together, a seagull take the Orange one away.

Theme: Be grateful for food. I think this film wants to tell us that food also has feeling and to be thankful for being able to eat pretty much anything we want. That is why the ungrateful human falls into the sea.

Oktapodi

Character: two octopuses (male and female) and a man. The octopuses are lovers, and the man is a fisherman.

Setting: a town in maybe Greece in a summer.

Conflict: two octopuses vs. one person.

Climax: They escaped from the man, and he felt down the sea.

Symbol: A bird represents an accident.

Irony: When the two octopuses thought they got freedom, the female one was captured by a bird.

Theme: Loves are inevitable suddenly accidents.

My guitar

My guitar

I have five guitars.
Let me introduce one of them.
It is called ”white falcon”.
I think this guitar is one of the most beautiful guitar in the world.
The body is white and gold.

This is my white falcon.

I always clean up this guitar after playing it.
I really love to play this guitar.

Thank you for reading.

Oktapodi.

Main Characters: Two octopuses and one man.

Setting: European countries like Italy because the town is near the ocean.

Conflict: The two octopuses vs human

Climax: When the two octopuses finally escaped from the man and then he goes down to the ocean.

Symbol: the bird represents the obstacle in our human life.
the man represents just human think and the octopus presents the feeling which is hidden
              inside animals.

Irony:  After the man feels to the ocean and the two octopuses had a narrow escape from danger,
the bird came to take the female octopus.

Theme: Life won't work the way you want.

Oktapodi

Most atractive city

Do you have favourite city you’ve been before? If you don’t know yet and want to visit somewhere, I strongly think you should go to Hakodate, the most attractive city in Japan.

A company in Tokyo carried out a survey which has 77 questions like “do you want to live in the city?” or “do you want to go there for a trip?” Nearly 30 thousand people participated in it and the company released the result last month. Hakodate ranked the best as well as last year. Hakodate was followed by Sapporo, Kyoto, Yokohama and Otaru (3 Hokkaido cities in top 5!). Here's the link of the news http://tiiki.jp/news/05_research/survey2015/2855.html

Some might wonder why this rural area was voted but actually Hakodate is a great city. Fresh and nice food, perfect weather; not too hot/cold, many old and beautiful places to visit and the view from Mt. Hakodate is stunning!

Hokkaido Shinkansen will be opened next year and it will make it easier to get to Hakodate. Visit my hometown guys!

Okutapodi

Setting: It takes place somewhere in Greece. I think it is in summer because the man was wearing a tank top.

Conflict: I think it is mainly the two octopus against the man. At first the male octopus fight to help the female octopus from the man. Towards the end I can indicate that it will change to female against the bird.

Climax: The climax was when two octopus escaped from the truck.

Symbols: two octopus which represents true love.

Irony: Two octopus can't be together so easily.

Theme: You can overcome difficulties with love.

Riding

I started riding when I was in elementary school. It is very interesting for me.
Club members have to take care of a lot of horse by turns.
Our activity starts in the early morning.
We have to assemble at the riding ground at 6:30.
It is very hard work, but it is very attractive sport for me.
On Monday, we practice jumping some hurdles with horse.

Last week, I went to Nagano to practice riding with our club members. Captain of the cavalry taught us how to ride more nicely.

I try my best to be a good rider.

Thank you for reading.

About my childhood.

One of my favorite countries is the UK.

When I was little I lived in London for two years and a half because of my father`s business trip.

I was only at the age of three when I moved to London

I didn`t go to a Japanese school because my parents wanted me and my sister to go to a local school.

At first it was hard for me to get along with other students because there were no Japanese student except me. However little by little I started to enjoy my life there and being able to communicate using English.

In London,I loved the park, street, buildings.....everything! Everything was
so beautiful.

Although people usually say that the food is not so good, I liked it a lot.

Since I came back to Japan, I haven`t had the chance to visit there again.
I still sometimes contact with my friends who I met there, and really hope to see them again.

I will save money and definitely go to the UK and travel around!!!

Tokyo Disney Sea with one of my friends :)

After finishing IE core classes yesterday, I went to Tokyo Disney Sea with one of my friends, Makoto. She was my classmate when I was a high school student. We have already visited Tokyo Disney Resort twice. When we were first-grade students, we went to Tokyo Disney Sea. When we were second-grade students, we went to Tokyo Disney Land. So, it was third visit.

We always decide to hang out suddenly. In this case, we decided to go there last Wednesday because weather forecast around TDS turned into cloudy. We used the ticket called after-six passport. Using this passport, we can enter the park from 18 o’clock. This passport is about 2,500 yen cheaper that one-day passport. Yesterday, TDS is not crowded very much. Soon after entering the park, we can get fast-pass of Tower of Teller. We were finally able to ride 6 attractions, Journey to the Center of the Earth, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, The Magic Lamp Theater, Indiana Jones Adventure, StormRider and Tower of Teller. Fortunately, we were able to sit the very front seat when we rode Journey to the Center of the Earth, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, The Magic Lamp Theater, Indiana Jones Adventure and Tower of Teller. We were sooooooo happy!!!

TDS is now in Halloween season. So, the park is decorated with Halloween ornaments. In addition, a lot of limited-time souvenir are sold. I bought a popcorn basket shaped Mr. Potatohead disguised as a Dracula. The basket is so cute :) What is more, we can move Mr. Potatohead’s mouth and eyebrows. In addition to the popcorn basket, I bought famous teddy bears called Daffy and Shelliemay. Halloween Daffy and Halloween Shelliemay wear special costume. I bought them for my mother too. My mother likes Disney and also likes Daffy and Shellimay. I hope it will be happy for my mother to receive them.

When it comes to food we ate, firstly we ate “Ukiwa-man”. It looks like an air bladder and includes shrimps. Both Makoto and I like it. Secondly, we ate a spicy turkey leg. When we were first-grade students, it was for the first time to eat it. So, this time was for the second time. I never failed to eat it when I went to go TDL. The las one is Gyoza-dog. This Gyoza-dog was Halloween version.
Now, I’m planning to go to Tokyo Disney Land. When I go there, I want to enjoy TDL all day long. I want to ride more and more attraction than yesterday.

My summer vacation

I went to our IE classmate, Akane's house with two friends in summer! I live in Saitama prefecture, and she lives in Chiba prefecture, so I took about 3 hours to go to her house. During 2 days, I drive a car going some shops. We celebrated our friend's birthday at that day, and they celebrated my birthday at that night. Since I didn't know they would celebrated me, I was very surprised. We enjoyed talking until the midnight. We're going to go a pool at the next day, but when we got up, the time was 11 o'clock:( So we went to karaoke, giving up going there. Although the plan was changed, I had a very good time with my friends. We're going to go snowboarding in the next spring vacation! I'm very looking forward for it.

My grandfather

Hello.

Today, I went to my grandparent’s house to celebrate my grandfather’s birthday.

My mother and I was going to go to the restaurant, but my grandmother had a strained back yesterday.

So we gave up going to the restaurant because she could not move.

We bought many foods which my grandfather loves. Although he is 77 years old, he eat a lot.

His favorite food are Sushi and White gratin. He was really pleased to eat those.

My grandparents ran a meat shop before. When I was a child, my grandparents and I often cooked hamburgers. It was very beautiful memories. In Christmas season, my grandfather cooked a turkey for me. Those were very delicious.

I love my grandfather because he is always kind to me and he made me laugh. I want to make more memories while he is fine. I hope my grandfather lives until 100 years old or more!
( This picture was taken 16 years ago )

My favorite bird!

Hi!!  Do you like animals?  Today, I would like to talk about my favorite bird.
Although, I had  no interest in animals until recently, one image on the Internet changed my attitude toward them.

This is the picture. It is so cute, isn't it? This bird is Shimaenaga. Shimaenaga is a white and tiny bird.  It lives in Hokkaido and is  called "fairy of snow". I've been fascinated by Shimaenaga since I found the picture. If you want to see more images, please let me know! I have many cute pictures of Shimaenaga.

Hometown

I think my hometown is Chofu, Tokyo. The reason why I am not sure where my hometown is, is because I’ve moved to many places in an early age. After I was born in Tokyo, I moved to Hong Kong, and then Kobe, Yokohama, America, and finally came back to Chofu, Tokyo. So, I think my hometown is Chofu. I think most people don’t know where Chofu is. It is close to Kichijoji and MitakaChofu is famous for soba and GegegenokitarouThere are many delicious sobaya in Chofu. Many famous people come to Chofu to eat soba too.

Chofu is not a fashionable place, but it is very calm and people are friendly. It is true that there is nothing to do except to eat soba, but I think everyone should come to Chofu once and try soba.

Saying thank you.

Yesterday at the discussion in the IE Listening class, two of my group members, Naomi and Mayu introduced the TED talks called "Remember to say thank you"

As you see from the title, it says the importance of saying thank you to our friends and family.

I can say thank you to my friends naturally.
On the other hand, although I always feel a sense of gratitude especially to my mother and father, it is not easy to say it to them directly because it a little bit shy to do so.

However, at the same time, I know that even if I have the feeling of gratitude inside my heart, it would not  be thoroughly conveyed to them if I don`t say aloud.

This topic was very good for me to realize the necessity to express my gratitude obediently.

I want to thank you to my family for always supporting me a lot.
Have a nice weekends!
