Binta and the Great Idea

Setting
in Africa

Conflict
Soda wants to go to school, but her father doesn't let her

Climax
When Soda's parents have a fight over whether or not they should let Soda go to school, and when the children does a play about a girl who can't go to school because her father doesn't let her

Symbols
Bird: intelligence
Watch: European culture

Irony
Before Soda's father saw the play, he thought he could choose his daughter's life and decide what she should and shouldn't do, but after the play, he finally let Soda go to school.

Theme
I think UNICEF support this film because they want us to know how the lives of the poor are, and how people who want to go to school can't. I think UNICEF also wants us to realize how lucky we are that we are able to go to school.
