Mt. Fuji and me

I live in Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture.  Gotemba is famous for Mr. Fuji, and every summer many tourists visit our city to watch and climb Mt. Fuji.

It is said that Mt. Fuji will become a World Cultural Heritage, and I'm glad to hear the news as a citizen living near Mt. Fuji.

However, to tell you the truth, people living near Mt. Fuji hardly see it.  When I was born, Mt. Fuji was there.  When I wake up every morning, Mt. Fuji is there.  For Mt. Fuji to be there is so natural that we do not care much about Mt. Fuji.

In fact, I've never climbed Mt. Fuji since I was born, and I do not remember when I saw it consciously.
