literary terms of mermaid

setting: in a distant country where people are not allowed to daydream as they pleased

conflict: the boy who likes to daydream vs the government
              the boy vs himself

climax: the boy run away from the facility where he was taken to and get in the sea with the fish
            carrying, then finally the boy recall the mermaid and swim together happily.

symbol: the mermaid represents the boy's imaginativeness
             the sea represents the country where there is no restriction on daydream (an ideal country)

irony: the boy try not to forget the mermaid, but he can't recall her whole image clearly by being forced
          to read many books.

theme: children's imaginative mind must not be deprived by anyone.
