Mermaid

Setting: Japan in WWⅡ, when freedom of thinking was suppressed.

Conflict: the boy vs himself     the boy and the government    the boy vs his parents

Climax: at the last of the story, the boy advanced toward the sea with the fish and I think

the fish turned into a mermaid and moreover, the boy turned into a mermaid as well.

Symbol: the sea is the symbol of the boy's freedom

the mermaid is a existence relieveing his mind stress because people in the country were not

               allowed to imagine.

Irony: the government tried him to forget the mermaid by using many physical ways, but he

remember. However, when a psychological way was acted, the image of the mermaid was

           faded.

Theme: even your ideas or thoughts are denied by people around you, you should be strong to your ideas or thoughts
