Mermaid

Mermaid

Setting: a tranquil beach and the sea

Character: a boy that likes daydreaming, his parents and the mermaid

Conflict: the boy vs himself /he tries to adapt life under the sea with the mermaid who he loves so much, but he can't, for he doesn't belong to the underwater world
the boy vs society /his country doesn't allow him to daydream and he is sent to a court where he is tried and is prisoned)

Climax: He takes the small fish to the beach and releases it in the sea
Theme: daydreaming is not a bad thing, but don't do it too much

Symbol: bubbles=sadness, the sea=freedom, whistle=tranquility, jelly fish=chair, the mermaid=imagination or love

Irony: He loves the mermaid so much that he never ever forgets her whatever happens on him however, one day he could no longer daydream and the angelfish in the tank didn't remind him of her anymore.
