Stanley Pickle

Stanley Pickle

Setting: Stanley's house, a field, and a forest in the countryside in autumn Europe

Conflict: Stanley vs himself ( Stanley doesn't have a friend or family, but he spends his daily life with his parents that are his handmade clockworks and pretends everything is ok with him in his house)

Irony: Stanley tries to please the girl who he likes by turning the dead owl into a living clockwork toy, but when she looks at it, she screams in terror, runs across the field and disappears in the forest.

Symbol: clockwork=his life (something that keeps him from his dream & desire), the girl=dream & desire, the forest=freedom & future, his house=loneliness, the owl=trigger, the field=a path that leads to his dream & freedom

Climax: He finally went outside, buried the 2 springs in the field near his house, left where he lived, and went into the forest in search for the girl.

Theme: Do not spend time alone and don't pretend everything is fine. Everyone has the right to pursue dreams, so discard your clockwork life and pursue your dreams.
