"I'm sorry day"

I'm not saying to stop apologize, but I couldn't think that this I'm sorry day is good. To me, it seemed like Australia government has made arrangements to suit their convenience. From the past, Australians had persecuted Aborigines for thousands of reasons. Many tribes were holocaust because they had been set up as a cause of plague. The history of persecuting Aborigines is a trauma especially for Aborigines. But now, the Australian government is saying I'm sorry to these people!? How insane!
I just can't help thinking that Australian government is just apologizing for the time being, and soon they will co-opt Aborigines, take control of their land, to gain some natural resources or something.
