Mirage is an illusion of water. It’s an imaginary place, you can see it there, but that something, or somewhere does not exist.
The short movie Mirage started out inside the water. The scene was captured from inside the ocean looking above, outside the water. However the next moment, it reaches the bottom of the ocean, and somehow the ocean isn't filled with water. The setting I think is in the future, it did look developed but everywhere seemed to be dark. The symbol-like character is looking for water which is stored inside the flowers. Water is his fuel, as he did look like a computer as well as he did look like a human being as well.
Water is a big symbol for Mirage. The robot-looking character needs water to survive, he goes searching for it, and it also represents thirst. Other symbols are the tree, fish, light, stairs.
When you are searching for something, when you are trying to develop an unknown area, it destroys some facts that where there originally. In other words without destroying, you cannot gain what you want. I personally think this is proved by our history. For example the clip we saw the week before, the “sorry day” was about apologizing, because they destroyed the lives of the natives who used to belong there. If one wants to survive, one needs to be sacrificed. The important part is, learn from our past mistakes, and, let’s make the future a bright and nice one!!
