Binta and the Great Idea

The setting
in Senegal, Africa

Conflict
Binta, a 7 year old girl was a happy girl because she can go to school and learn many things.  Binta had a cousin named Soda, but she could not go to school because her father said that women don't need to go to school and should work at home.  Even though her father says so, Soda wants to go to school to be happy.

Climax
When the children in Senegal do a play about Soda and Binta.

Symbols
A letter that Binta's father wrote shows hope.

Irony
Soda wants to go to school, but she can't because her father opposes.

Theme
Everyone should be educated no matter who they are.
