Wallflower

Hello! This is Nami.
Yesterday I went to a theater in Kawasaki to see The perks of being a wallflower.
It is said to be the modern Catcher in the rye.
I had no idea what “wallflower" means even right after seeing it. However, when I read the reviews on Internet, I got it.
A boy who is said “wallflower” is so  reserved that he is not paid much attention by others. He is always alone at parties though the other boys have many friends and girls to go to parties with.
The main character was such a kind of boy.
I won't say anymore because I don't want to disturb anyone who wants to see it, but you had better see it before you get too grownup.

Movie

Last Monday I watched a movie with my friends. The Japanese title is " Grand Illusion" and I heard that the original title is " Now You See Me".
It was about the group of magicians called "The Four Horsemen". One night they robbed a bank in Paris during the show took place in Las Vegas. Because of that FBI started the chase them to arrest. However, The Four Horsemen were so clever that they  escaped in many ways.
Unexpected fact was revealed at the end so I got very excited. Many magic during the movie was very interesting too.  My friends and I liked the movie very much so we already planned to watch the DVD together when it is put on sale.

Too cold

As I lived in Singapore before, I really hate cold days. Of course I hate winter days.
During winter my room becomes so cold as there is less sunshine coming into my room.
As my room is cold, I can't wake up on early morning these days. I mean, I can't get out of my bed.
If everyone know how to get up easily on cold days, PLEASE tell me!!
I want my summer back _(┐「ε:)_

All Aoyama Kendo Festivasl

Last Saturday I had All Aoyama Kendo Festival.  In there we had to take care of the OBs so it was extremely busy.  All freshmen met at school in 6:30 and Festival finished at 20:00.  This year the number of OBs are less than as usual so it was easier this year.  Even so we are all nervous and ran around so we all got very tired.

Blues Music

I usually do not listen to the blues music so it was good opportunity to listen Steve Gardner's live as Kanaho said it was first time to me to listen them in live.  Therefore I really don't know blues music but I thought his live was very great.  his music was not only interesting but also fun. In my opinion one of the music`s purpose is to make people feel fun so in that way I think his live was very successful.

I am poor

Last Saturday, I went shopping and bought three items, so I don't have much money now.
50% off sale took place then, so I got things beneficially and I was content and I didn't regret using money for them.

But I want things too much! To get them, more money are necessary...
I want new CDs and clothing and I want to get my ears pierced.
It is getting a part-time job for me to have to do at first!!!
I have to get out of such a lazy state right now and survive!

blues music

Last Friday, I listened to blues music played by Steve Gardner and it was my first time to listened to such a kind of music!

I love rock music, so I didn't know it very much, but it made me interested in it.
His voice was very strong and it had a mysterious power.
And I thought that he was a very good man!
He had a very unique humor sense and jokes he said were all funny!
I remembered the joke and the song about chicken most.

It was a very nice opportunity for me to listen his song, because I became interest end in blues music.
I tried to look for blues music in YouTube.

Winter

Since I hate the cold weather, I don't really like the winter season. I can't get up in the morning, and the weather makes me feel like I don't want to do nothing. And it also reminds me of the hard days of preparing for the entrance examination.
But for exeption, Christmas is the only thing I like in winter. Actually, I like the days before Chirstmas which I could see the ornaments, and iluminations.  I feel delightful when I see them.
So I am planning to go to see the iluminations this year too.

Blues music

Last Friday, we had a opportunity to join an open lecture to listen to Steve Gardner's blues musics.
It was my first time to listen to a blues music. It was amazing that he was playing the guitar and the harmonica at the same time.
I liked his songs because it had jokes, and his voice was very nice.
It was a great chance to listen to the traditional songs of Mississippi.
I want to listen and study more about blues songs.

Blues

Last Friday IE classes gathered to the big room in 17 building of my school, and we listened to blues music by Steve Gardner.
It was amazing than what I thought about playing guitar and harmonica together. I liked his strong voice too! His music was great!
I have an experience of learning blues music at my highschool in Singapore. I listened to many blues songs at that time but it was really first time to see a person singing blues. This experience made me more interested to blues music than before.

about blues music

Today i'm going to talk about the blues music.
First of all, Steve Gardner's small live was really great, and I totally enjoyed it.
I felt like I'm in the one scene of the old American movie, because I used to heard those songs in the America's movie which is little old.
And also it reminded me of the restaurant I had worked for, because the chief of there was really big fan of Eric Crapton who is one of the most famous blues singer in the world.
I thought that there are no expiration date in the art, and the music is one example of it.
Well-made and have many people's precious memories musics will remembered forever, and it won't fail to make us happy cause I believe that time would change, but the spirit of the music will never change ever after.

bruce music

Last Friday was my first time to listening to the blues music played live. Steve Gardner was the singer who has powerful voice as well as soft and kind voice. I was really impressed by his talking. The first time he started talking, I thought he was singing without any musical instruments. However, he was not singing, he was talking! He talks as if he were singing. This made me feel very comfortable and I could concentrate on what he was talking about.
I learned in my friend's presentation in high school that Bruce music was first made by African people who were forced to work in the plantation in the United States. She presented that the Bruce music was the secret communication between African people that could not be understand by their owners at first and then, it became the Bruce music that is known today. When they played the music, their owners only thought they were just having fun; they had never expected that they were communicating. They sang their sadness in the music and tried to reduce the sorrow by putting it in words. However, the main object of playing music was to encourage each other and endure the difficulties. They listened to others sing and sometimes sang together to get over their sadness at the fields.
I always think about how meaningful the past or the history are to make the present or the future when I hear about these kinds of stories.

Bruce music

Last Friday, during the IE core class, we joined the open lecture by Steve Gardener. It was the first time to listen to Bruce music, so I could recognize what the Bruce music is. Even if I didn't know what it was like, I really had fun during the lecture. Many jokes were included in the songs too and that made audience laugh a lot.
As I like listening to music, from know on, I want to listen to many music including Bruce music!!

my first part time job

I have done something new in my life yesterday. It is working a part time job. I had never worked at any places before, but I decided to work because I thought I can learn something very important from working and during my time at uni. is the best time to get a part time job. I might be able to use the skills I learned from part time job for my job in the future. Experiencing at least one part time job before taking a job might be a great experience.
As it was my first day working at Orijin-bento, what I did was really basic things like how to use the registers, the way to take orders from customers, what to do when I come to the workplace, and learned which bags to use for each bento. There are so many things I have to remember to work there, and it might be very hard until I get used to it. However, working at there is something what I have decided, so I have a responsibility to do it. I will try hard as much as I can and want to contribute to the store.

Bruce music

Hello! This is Nami.
Great to see you in the class.
But I'm sorry about Rina.
Hope you'll get better soon!

Then, I'm going to write about my impression of Bruce music.
Though it was the first time for me to listen to it, I was really got into it for it resembled a little like Country music I often listen to.
Steve Gardner was a man with powerful voice, talent of playing some instruments at the same time, and good humor!
He was talking as if he was singing, and he was singing as if he was talking.
The songs he sang were including lots of jokes, which made all of us laugh.
He talked about changing the American music which I'd have never known without such an opportunity.
I really appreciate it.
Also, I like people playing music as enjoying not only audience but also themselves.
He seemed to enjoy himself very much!
That made the Bruce music more enjoyable.
I could not say thank you to him after the show, but I really do!

Hope you guys spend lovely weekend :)

mermaid

character: a boy, a mermaid (fish), and the boy's parents
what they want: they wanted to get together.
conflict: boy vs. his imagination
climax: scientist and police brainwashed him to stop him thinking about mermaid.
end: the boy went into the ocean.
future: they will live together forever in the ocean.
message: imagination is not wrong thing to do.

Yokohama

Hello! This is Nami.
On this Wednesday, I went to Yokohama with my friend for lunch.
After we enjoyed Japanese food at PARIYA, which is open in Aoyama too, we took a walk to Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse near the Minatomirai station or the Sakuragi-cho station. The place was a little crowded with couples who seemed so happy about Christmas, but it was so picturesque that we enjoyed ourselves too!
Though I don't know how to post photos via iPhone, I'll show you the pictures around Yokohama if you want!

One more thing, to my surprise, the friend I've known for 4 years also started to work for Starbucks. Though we work at different places, it was really nice to share our own impressive experiences we've had.
Such a lovely day I had :)

The lost thing

I will talk about "The Lost Thing" that we saw two weeks ago.

When
In the future

Where
The modern times city near the beach.

He found the thing on the beach

Theme
People were too busy doing other things that they did not notice thing, even it is big enough to find.
People can not think about others for people just pass through the thing as if they did not see anything.

Stuffed toys

I love stuffed toys from my childhood, and I have a lot of stuffed toys on my bed now.
I used to like stuffed toy of animals like dogs but now I gather a lot of Pokemon stuffed toys.
What I do with them is just to look at and sleep with.
Few days ago I was a bit interested how many stuffed toys do I have.
I was really surprised that I had 60 or more stuffed toys on my bed.
That means I'm living with a stuffed toy. Moreover, I guess that I'll buy a lot more of stuffed animals and live with them.
I'd like to collect panda's stuffed toys from this year!!

Mermaid

I will talk about Osamu Tezuka's short movie " Mermaid".

He was longing for swimming with mermaid.

What's going on in this society?
People make too much point of the reaity.
People do not belive things until they see things with their eyes.

Conflict
HImself versus his imagination

What happens end of the story?
He was caught in place like Jail and trying to forget about the mermaid, though he can't forget it.

What do you think happens next?
Few years later when he grown up, he will realize what he saw was  not real at all.

What's the theme
People only see what they can see with their eyes.

Mermaid

Characters
A boy, mermaid (fish...?), and people living in the boy's country like their parents.

What they want
A boy wanted to live with the mermaid.

Problem
The boy's country did not allow people to have an imagination so the police, scientists and many other people tried to brainwash his mind.

A boy runs away to the sea where he met is mermaid. However, at that time he couldn't see a mermaid already.

What happend at the end
A boy gets into the sea.

What will happen in the future
A boy changes to a mermaid and live with his girlfriend mermaid.

Theme
It is necessary for human to have imagination mind and free thought.

The book for next book report

I am so sorry for late posting.

Through the last week's book report presentation, I had interested in 1984 that Rima read.
I knew this book since I raed rough script in English literature class, however, her discription made me feel like to read it. Especially the irony of it is really interesting for me. The irony was that main character who is washing out people's brain was washed out in the end.

For this reason, I would like to read it for next book report.

English movies

I am sorry to post messages ceaselessly.

In today's IE listening class, I saw the movie "The north of Eden" that Ms. Nakasone recommended.
I like watching movies, both Japanese and English one. I like English movies more than Japanese movies, because I can know many kinds of expressions. I like the way they say the phrase. It is totally different from expressions we use in daily lives, but, the word they use is easy enough to understand.

I like how they say phrases as well. They just don't say phrase as it is, however, put stresses and use various intonation to express their role's feeling.

I would like to know and use as many expressions as I can.

My lovely IE family:)

Today, I would like to talk about people around me. It's been about 8 months since I came this school, Aoyama Gakuin University and met many people here. I made many friends here too.
I really thank people around me, including teachers. They always support me whenever I feel depressed or I get stack. Especially member from IE class were really nice to me.

I never forget that they encouraged me, when I whined about my bad luck. They told me that we are always with you and talk us, if you don't mind. I was really depressed and thought there is no one who care about me so their encouragement made me realize how happy I am.

To be honest, I did not think we came to this close friends because it is just English class, however, we somehow came to this close and now we thinks we are like real "family".

I am really happy to be that close friends with them and thank them a lot, though they call me "okan"(means mother in Kansai dialect)haha.

We want to know eachother more and go many places!!!

What I want to to say is that I really love and thank them.

TDL

Yesterday,  I went to Tokyo Disney Land with my friend!  I have only first period and my friend only has second period on Wednesdays so we went to Disney Land from noon. The friend is in this English department and we belong to the same circle too. We bought same clothes and dressed like a twin. We have been planning to do this for a month. Because of a Christmas season, everywhere in the park was decorated and it was very cute. We rode many attractions and we took many pictures too.
Also, I'm going to go to Tokyo Disney Sea two weeks later!!!

Recent days

Recently, I changed hair style and dyed my hair. It is because I was looked older than actual age like "You look more than 30 years old" or "You must be over 20 years old".
From this reason, I made fringe and dyed me hair from black to brown. The nextday, everyone says that " It's much more younger and better than before!!! I like this hair style more than last one." I was really glad to hear that:) Now, I am trying to wear cloths that go with my new hair style. It is quite important thing to try new things like I did. I would like to challenge a lot of new things as much as I can:)
New hair style and fashion make me feel more cheerful too, therefore, I really satisfied with new hairstyle.

Sickness

I have been sick last Wednesday, so I was absent from an university today.

I had a fever, so I cannot go anywhere.
I have stayed in my small room for about two days, it was bored very much!

I miss my family especially when I catch a cold, and this time was not a exception.
When I lived in Shizuoka, my mother cooked Okayu for me, but now I have to make it by myself..., it was vain.

It seems for me to catch a cold easily after I stated to live alone in Tokyo, so I have to get more strength!

Mermaid

There was only a fish in a water tank.
He put a fish in the sea, but a miracle thing happened!

If you believe, you can be relieved.

Mermaid

Hello! This is Nami.
I'm going to write about Mermaid by Osamu Teduka.

The characters in the story was a boy, a mermaid - sometimes she looked like a fish, and people surrounding the boy including his parents.

At first, he wanted his parents to know the existence of the mermaid.

However, all they could see in a water tank was just a fish. So they regarded him as being in an imagination though any imagination was banned in the society.
That was the conflict in the story.

The climax was when he was brainwashed, and consequently was made to be unable to remember how the mermaid was like.
After that, he could not even see the mermaid when he met her again thorough the water tank in his house. He just saw a fish in it.

At the end, as he felt too sad to live without the mermaid, he made up his mind to go back to the sea with her, which means he committed suicide.

After the end of the story, I guess he turned to be a merman. People might interpret his suicide as the consequence of his imagination. Thus, the forbiddance of imagination would be harder than before his death.

The theme of the story was “don't lose your imagination” or “no one can stop imagination of others.”

Mermaid

There was the boy , Mermaid or the fish , and the people who don`t believe the mermaid in the story.

The boy wanted to prove the existence of the mermaid.  On the other hand the people in that country which prohibited to imagine freely.

The people in that country did not  believe in that imagine kind so they tried to brainwash the boy.

When he started to forget the visual of the mermaid because when he remember the shape of the mermaid the story changes a lot.

He disappointed to himself that he could not remember the mermaid so he suicide as walk into the ocean.

He will die after the end.  However if we use our imagination fully we can assume that he can be together with mermaid forever.

This video was trying to say to not forget to use imagination , or people going to die.

Hokkaido

Last weekend I was in Hokkaido for kendo tournament.  I thought I will be going to crazy breezing.  However it was not cold very much.  We had time for sightseeing so we went to the clock tower , fish market and rope way the costs 1700 yen.  It was too expensive to ride so we did not ride on it.  The result of the tournament was not bad we won the third place.

mermaid

characters; a boy and a mermaid.

what they want; they wanted other people to acknowledge the existence of mermaid.

problem; the society did not allow people to have any daydreams.

climax; the boy run away from a prison and went to the place where he met the mermaid for the first time.

in the end; the boy became a mermaid

in the future; they will live together happily in the sea.

theme; it is sometimes important to penetrate one's belief.

Zimbouchou

Yesterday, I went to Zimbouchou with my friend which is a place famous as secondhand bookstores.
If you use the Hanzoumon line to get there, you will notice the subways wall designed with books.
Actually we didn't go to the bookstores since we didn't have enough time, but we had great time going to several coffee shops. Wiener coffee is my favorite drink, and I was surprized to know the coffee shop we vistied was the first shop that served  Wiener coffee in Japan. I really like going coffeshops, and this place was what I always wanted to go. I really liked it , so I guess it's going to be my usual coffee shop.

Mermaid

The impressions of "Mermaid"
"characters"
A boy, a mermaid(fish), the boys parents, and people in the society.

"What do the characters want?"
They wanted to get together.

"conflict"
The mermaid was the boys imagination, so his parents and the society regarded him as unorthodox.

"climax"
The society had a restriction on the freedom of thoughts, so they brainwash the boy and finally the boy couldn't see the mermaid anymore.

"What happens in the end?"
The boy goes into the the ocean.

"What will happen in the future?"
Restrained from the nation, people will no more imagine anything.

"What's the message of this video?"
The elimination of the freedom of thoughts ends up with a collapse of the nation.

my favorite game

I'm not a person who are easily get interest in some games, but recently there's one game I really think it's interesting!
the game's name is Pokopang, and maybe some of you have heard about this name since it is popular among the LINE users. This game made by the company of LINE, so it is possible to compare the score with my LINE friends in this game. It is really easy to play and also the appearence of it is really cute! so now, i'm spreading the charm of this game to my friends.
How about starting Pokopang? Let's share our score and send some Clovers!
(Clover is something like a ticket to play one time in Pokopang)

my part time job

I am working at Kamakura Pasta.  I have worked there more than one years, and I usually work on weekend.  My job at there is carrying dish and making drink, salad, and dessert.  I love this part time job, but I want to get more payment by the hour!  So, I am thinking about work in two or more places.

the book for next book report

Hello! This is Nami.
Sorry I didn't mention the book for next book report.
I'm thinking of changing the book to read.
I was starting to read And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, but The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald looked more interesting.
So I'm still considered but going to decide as soon as possible and start to read very soon!

belated post of the book report

Everyone in the class did their best with the book reports, I think! well, including me!
and it was a great opportunity for me to hear their book report, through book report presentation.
all of those book presentations were really good, but I thought Nami's one is really interesting.
Because I have seen a movie of her book, Notebook, so it was interesting for me to hear about more detail research of the book. That presentation made me want to see the movie once again, and also it made me want to read a book if there's enough time.
I'm really impressed all those book presentations, and i'm really looking forward to hear their next book report.

For my next book report, I have not decided yet but I'm thinking about the book Pride and Prejudice, of Jane Austen.

a great weekend

This weekend was one of the best weekends I have ever had. I went shopping, got the first place in the meet, and was recruited for the part time job.
First, I went to Shibuya after my club activity to meet Mizuki on Saturday. We had been planning to go shopping since a month ago and realized finally. I bought clothes and accessaries. She helped me choosing items. After shopping we had pasta. It was really tasty. I really enjoyed the time with her.
On Sunday, I had a meet. This time, it was a freshmans' meet from three universities, Meiji Gakuin, Sophia, and Aoyama Gakuin. My score was the highest in the Aoyama Gakuin and we recieved the first place of all the three university. It was a great meet that I could find my failures, too so I will do my best to recover these failures for my next meet. Also, I got a call that I was recruited from Orijin-bento. I had a conference last Friday and I made it. This is my first time to work, so I will try as much as I can :)

book report

In book report presentaion, I was interested in the book, Anne of Green Gables.  The author is L.M.Montgomery.  Karuna and Kanaho presented it.  It is the book about a girl who has red hair.  In this story, the author's girlhood days are reflected.  Moreover, I may be able to learn the friendship and love from this novel.  Actually, I have never read this story, but I want to read or watch the story someday.

my favorite band

I would like to introduce my favorite band in the world!!!!
It is called Mr. Children and I think most of people in Japan know their name.  There are 4 members in the band. They play rock, pop, and ballad, and more than 20 years have passed since they came out. All of the songs of them were written and composed by the vocal, Kazutoshi Sakurai  so I think he is genius. I came to like this band when I was about 13 years old, because my brother was already a fan of them and he introduced many songs to me. Since that I listen to their music  almost everyday.
I haven't been their live concert recently so I wish they would start the live tour!

Ochanomizu university

Last weekend I went to Ochanomizu university for its school festival.
I went for my friend's hosting jaga-butter, but by the time I was there at 2 pm, it was all sold out Dx....
many other booth for food were sold out or had a long line up :O

One thing that surprised a lot was that there were so many guys in the festival.
Ochanomizu university is a women's university, but what I saw was more than half of people there were MEN......
they were mostly in groups of three or four, and I wonder what they thought of the stage show if they saw any of it, because on the show, all (the ones I saw) the girls dancing on the stage were wearing masks that cover their face or head................
My friend and I were pretty surprised about it, and we too thought the selection of the dance was pretty old.
does anyone remember Gorie's Pekori night? (I believe it was popular when we were in elementary and it was never popular after that) they were dancing that wearing masks!!!!><

and in spite of university attracting so many guys, I thought girls in AGU are prettier in general :D lol

However saying all these I don't mean to say anything bad about ochanomizu, because the girls there were each all very modest and their manners and the way they spoke were all so elegant and matured.
and I could see these differences instantly in the way they treated each people.

In conclusion, the festival was SO INTERESTING! lol
My friends and I talked a lot about people there and it was pretty fun! :D

book report

The books presented last class actually sounded all really interesting!
Every presentations made me want to read the books, even the ones I read before.

One book I was interested and want to read the most, was Gulliver's Travels presented by Minori.
I had known the book only by the title, but never really been interested in it because I thought the book was a kind that's just for enjoying the mood of adventure and has no insightful contents.
When I heard it was written in 18th century, I was really shocked and surprised by its history that it had been popular ever since the time it was published, more than 200 years!
Then she went on that the chapters in the story each has a role of symbolic meaning, which I thought was the complete opposite.
It really changed the impression of the book, and I'd love to read it.
If not in English, at least in Japanese translated version.

In class, almost all the books presented were all very very popular, so I knew I would instantly be interested in every one of them.
But actually hearing the stories and explanations gave me more correct and powerful impressions of the book than I expected, and it definitely enlarged the choices of books I would read next.
And it was pretty fun talking about the book I read to other people too!

For the next report, I am thinking of reading The Great Gatsby.

Pokemon Center

Last Saturday I went Pokemon Center in Hamamatutyo station with my friends in the club.
My senior overslept and he was one hour late so I walked to Tokyo tower with the other members.
It was quite cold at that day so I enjoyed walking to make my body warm.
An hour later we went to Pokemon center! I sometimes go there to get some Pokemon stuffs.
What I bought there was a stuffed toy of fox Pokemon, and a badge. The stuffed toy was winter version and it's very cute. I wanted to go Pokemon center to buy that.
After Pokemon center we went Mos Burger and played Pokemon there!
It was a wonderful weekend.
This is a stuffed toy of Pokemon and my 3DS for playing Pokemon!

the lost thing

setting: In the future, in the city.
conflict: The boy and the lost thing vs. society.
climax: They found a place where the lost thing belongs to at the end.
symbol: The lost thing symbolize the thing which people tend to ignore in the modern society.
irony: The boy couldn't see the lost thing when he got older.
theme: People should not ignore or forget thing which surrounds you.
I'm sorry to post this video comment very late.

Book Report

I thought that Kanaho's book was the most interesting one for me, "Anne of Green Gables".
When Kanaho talked about this book she looked so happy and she told a lot about the book. The story contains many interesting points and it made me of thinking of reading this book someday.

For the next book report, I don't have an exact idea of what I'm going to read. However, as I read "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", I thought I can read "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" for next book report.

sleepiness and cold

Hello! This is Nami.
These days I don't feel very well.

I've been quite sleepy all the time today, I don't know what makes me so though I slept for 7.5 hours last night.
Does anyone have any idea of the solution to such a sleepiness?

Also, I seem to have caught a cold because of this sudden cold weather.
But I should not catch a cold because I have a lot of things to be done by the end of this month.
So I'll do my best for my quick recovery.

Hope no one in this class will fall sick.
Stay warm and be safe everyone!

book report

Hello! This is Nami.
I'm going to write about the book I thought the most interesting.
As some members introduced the books they had read got interested in the book Shun had read, Sister Carrie, because it was quite different from what I had read, The notebook. In the book Shun read, people regard money as the most important thing, and also even the reason for love is money. We can't call it “real love” as The note book shows. So I was surprised to hear the story. At the same time, though realism did not sound attractive, that made me interested in it. That's why I'd like to read it.
As it sounds a little difficult for me to write a book report, I'll try it after finishing the second book report.

book report

I am interested in Fumika's book through the book report presentation. The book is Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It was about the man who used a drug to be a person with dual personality. I have read this book before when I was in high school but it was a short one and that's why I want to read the whole story. Dual personality was impossible thing to me so the story made me very excited.

Reading

I have been busy because of a lot of homework and so on, so I had no time to read.
However, I was free yesterday night, so I read a book after a long time.
I read "Heaven travels(in Japanese word, 天国旅行)" written by Shion Miura.
This book has seven little short stories and I read second one and third one.

I cannot talk about the content in detail, but the third one was very shocking for me.
Of course, it was good, but it left an unpleasant aftertaste to me.
Second one was very happy and heart-warming story, so I feel more uncomfortable.

But I will read this book tonight, and I am looking forward to reading the rest of them.

book report

I was interested in a book Nami read. Its title is "Notebook". It was a love story about a poor man and a rich woman. I love reading books and I love reading love stories best, so I wanted to read.
Against her parents, she got married with him and gave birth to five children. However, the thing which was not expected happened.
She got sickness. It was Alzheimer-type dementia, so she could not remember who he was. I was so sad when Nami talked about it.
I have not known what the end of the story was, so I was looking forward to reading and knowing it.

the last meet

Last Sunday's girls' archery meet was the last official meet for seniors in my club activity.
The meet was held at St. Paul University and there were archers from four university, St. Paul, Sofia, Meiji Gakuin, and Aoyama Gakuin. We have meet between these four Christian university occasionally. It is called 4 mission.
Sadly, we lost by 8 points against Meiji Gakuin and got the second place. However, our both two seniors, did so great that they both got over 600 points. 600 is the general goal for every archer to get at any games. I was very impressed by them and thought I want to be a player like them who can shoot well at those important meets.

Light Up Festival

In AGU we have Light Up Festival on Novenber 29th.  In the festival choirs are going to sing.  We are going to be provided the candle and we are going to light up with them.  Unfortunaly there will be a lot of people so it is going to be very crownded.  People in our class shuold watch it once!!

Book report

In the book report presentation Kanaho`s presentation was very interesting for me.  Anne of Green Gables.  Her presentation was very smoothly so we could understand about the story.  Not only it was easy to understand the information about the book was well analyzed so I could assumed that she really researched about it.  I liked the symbol that talked about Anne`s looks.

Railroad accidents

Last Tuesday, I was planning to go to the sneak preview of a certain movie, but unfortunately I couldn't make it  because an railroad accident resulting in injury occurred. I was really shocked because my friend prepared my for those tickets which was hard to acquisition. And I think most of the people who uses train has an experience like me. I don't know about the cause, and I really feel sorry for those accidents, but I always wonder why the JR doesn't try to do anything to avoid  the accidents.
Like the Yamanote line, I think they should make the gates between the train and the platform in every station. I think they aren't doing enough to reduse the accidents.

Book report

I was interested about Ayame's book "The adventure of Huckleberry Finn." It is a story about a boy who goes on a journey with a slave though it was a taboo to let a slave go free. I like those kind of stories which him or her believes themselves and goes against the society.
Actually I didn't have a lot of interest in English, or British literatures, but now with the opportunity to study about the literatures, I'm very happy to have the opportunity to read them. For the next book report, I want to try to read Stephen Edwin King's "IT" .

book report

I am interesteed in the book which Nami introduced, The Notebook. It was about the true love and she said that she felt like riding a rollercoaster while she was reading it. Ithink it must be ineresting. I have never experienced the true love so I thiught it is a good book for me.
I am thinking to read  The Great Gatsby for the next book report. Though I want to read The Sun Also Rises, too. I have not made up my mind yet :)

no title

I'm Korean, as you all know, and I'm so sad to talk about this.
There were a presidential election on December 19 this year, and Park was elected.
I was shocked, because I believed Mun would be elected.
I'm worried about that you have no idea what person she is, but I strongly believe that she is not the person who should be elected as a president.
Oh on December 19th, I cried too much since I prayed that she would not be elected.
Her father, Park Chung Hee, was president too, and he was the first dictator and killed so many people. and she, Park Geun Hye, says that she respect him a lot. Can you believe this?
Ohh This was not what I want to say, I'm just too... you know, sad.
from that, one years have passed and the unbelivable thing was revealed.
What I want to talk about is that. The presidential election in 2012 was turned out to be a fraudulent election. The ballot seemed to be rigged, however, the main media in Korea never report this. This is why the media in Korea is suppressed by the government, like Italia. It seems to be hard for Korean to redress this,.. because their power is too powerful to resist.
oh my god how can explain it? how can it be happened?
I cannot believe all these things. I'm just complaining, so you (who are reading this) don't have to do something about what i said........!

my school festival (my club activity)

I fully enjoyed the three days of Aoyamasai.
I'm belonged to the English Newspaper club, so I interviewed some of the stalls.
There were so many stalls and also they sold various kinds of foods.
We asked their goals, and their goals were sometimes the money.
On the other hand, there were the goals which have more meaning, one was the unity of themselves: the club, the exchange students, the friends.
It was a great opportunity for me to interview them and talk to them.
I will never forget my first Aoyamasai, and I want to do the interview next year too.

sleepover

Hello! This is Nami.
Last night, I slept over with my best friend. We've known each other since we were in junior high school, so it's been for around 7 years.
We had a cheese fondue and some potato avocado salad made by her mom who was so good at cooking that I wished I could stay there longer.
Afterward we were stuck to TV, because Harry Potter and deathly harrow part2 was broadcast.
It was the last film of the Harry Potter series, which made me cry.
Before taking a bath, another friend came to see me, because we hadn't seen each other for over a year.
We could not make it to stay up all night, but we had a good time as talking a lot and laughing hardly.
I'd like to see them soon again.

crepes evening

Hello! This is Nami.
Yesterday I and most of the IE members went to have a crepe as a snack (or dinner for some of them,) after Ms.Nakasone's class.
A 19 year-old girl at the crepe shop made all the 13 crepes we ordered, and she was very good at making crepes.
Some passersby looked surprised to see the small shop surrounded by 13 people waiting for their crepes.
But thanks to such a big group we were, some people dropped in and bought a crepe. That was good for the shop, wasn't it? I was also happy we could have a great time! Thank you!

part time job

last month I quitted the cafe I was working at :(
so I applied for a new part time job at kamakura pasta and got accepted last week!

Though at the job interview, I had mistaken the place I would've gone and was foolishly waiting without noticing for 10 minutes Dx
I work for aoyama branch now, but I was told to do the job interview at yoyogi-uehara.
the staff there noticed the person I was seeing wouldn't show up, so he called the person for me and told him I got confused and was at wrong place ;(
I apologized and asked for another job interview, and it seemed to have worked out :)

there are lots of things I have to memorize to before start working there, but I hope I can do well without making any catastrophic mistakes..

My school festival days

On the first day of the school festival I was stay in my house and took the first time rest in two months .  I was playing video games,  reading books and eat what I wanted.  On the second day of the school festival I went to Taisho University as a kendo club.  We went there for practice match.  We defeated them one time and we tied on e.  on the third day of the school festival we went to Nippon Budokan to cheer OB in the kendo tournament.  He could not win the tournament but it was good experiment to see great players that they play on TV.  I hope I can enjoy school festival next year.
On Wednesday I slept over in my friend's house.  We are practicing until 8 clock every Wednesday so we can leave school at 9:30.   in his house we played very old video game call super family computer.  he won by me like 15times so I thought I should practice this more.

Lost thing

Setting: The city in the past or the city which was civilized, but out of vogue.

Conflict: I think the conflict is the red machine faded away but nobody noticed it.

Climax.: I think that climax was a scene where a boy and a red machine found the place like heaven where forgotten things lived together.

Symbol: The city which is seemed outdated is a symbol of people's mind.
I think that their mind had no shine because they could not feel importance of things and they cannot help feeling the world boring.

Irony: He didn't want to leave a machine in the forgotten place, but it seemed that it hoped to be there, so he decided to leave it there. I think it is irony.

Theme: You should use things preciously.

the lost thing

Setting: in a future or a symbolized world
Conflict: the society and the environment (the family) do not accept the lost thing live near them.
Climax: a distinctively new world appears in front of the characters after a long journey
Symbol: the lost thing implies there are some living things that are either not being taken care of or alienated from the modern society, and I think it symbolizes unaccepted feelings or thoughts of people which are not treated appropriately due to prejudices and common thoughts that a society or a culture possesses
Irony: the person who led the lost thing to its place starts not seeing the lost thing as time passes
Theme: even though one thing look strange or weird, it has a place where it belongs to, and you must not abandon it but to treat it well and lead it appropriately as it needs.

I hate talking with a beautician

I am very nervous because I am going to go to a beauty salon this Sunday.
I have to have my hair catted because my permanent doesn't work very much and I got more hair.
But I hate to talk with a beautician.

Of course, I don't mean that I hate a beautician himself and I don't hate talking with other,I like it rather.
But, I hate to talk with a beautician anyway.
I want him to leave me alone when my hair is catted and I want to relax as reading.

I understand that he does just because it is his job and he doesn't necessarily want to do.
But, I hate it anyway...
Talking with him meant nothing! I got nothing!
I am very nervous now...

Golden Bomber

I went to the Aoyama festival and attended the concert of Golden Bomber with Fumika on November 2.
Until then, I have not known only a few songs of them, but after it, I became a fan of them!

After enjoying their live, I went to TSUTAYA in shibuya and rented four albums of them.
I didn't know that I am such a lowbrows...

I love ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION best, so I listened to their music best.
The music I often listened most was their music until then, but now, it is music of Golden Bomber.

I recommend you to listen  to their music carefully once!

The Lost Thing

Setting: In the future, at the city.

Conflict: There was a conflict between a boy and modern society. The boy found the lost thing but modern society didn't seem to accept an existence of those creatures.

Climax: The boy lastly find a place where the creatures live together. However, he had to say a good-bye to his lost thing there.

Symbol: The people at the city symbolizes our modern society today which gradually losts human communication and kindness compared to the past.

Irony: The first place where the boy and the lost thing went wasn't actually the place where the lost thing should go. That place couldn't help them.

Theme: There are something that are going to be forgotten as the time goes.

the lost thing

Setting: it is in somewhere in the modern country.
Conflict: person vs. society. The boy (and the lost thing) was(were) trying to oppose the trend of the times as it passes.
Climax: the lost thing and the boy went to the place where other lost things are.
Symbol: the lost thing. When it was first found by the boy in the country, or suburb, it looked lonely, but when they got to the place at last, it regained the power, got active, and looked happy.
Irony: even though he could see the lost thing when he was young, he was getting hard to see lost things as he get older.
Theme: do not forget the feelings that we can feel during our childhoods.

I think the lost thing is the things we can use if we fix the broken parts of them.

Aoyama festival

Last Friday to Sunday was Aoyama festival. Since I didn't belong to any club, I just went 1 day.
I went to the live of the air-band Golden-bomber, which is my favorite band. I like them because they are very humorous and cool. I never thought I would have an oppotunity to see them in a school festival,  so I felt very lucky. It was a great day.

Halloween party

Last Thursday, me and the IE members had a Halloween party.  We took pictures and had dinner together. The Shibuya crossing was full of people who are dressed up, and it was fun to join in it.
I really had a nice time with my class mates, and it was the best halloween I ever had.

Aoyama Festival

Hi, this is Rina.  Last weekend, our circle sold the fried ice at Aoyama Festival.  Fried ice has six flavors, chocolate, strawberry, green tea, lam raisin, cookie and vanilla, and rice.  The cookie and vanilla was the most popular. The new flavor, rice was almost vanilla, so it was delicious.  For three days, we could sell about 2200 fried ices!! It was so happy. On the Saturday night, we went to Golden bomber's live.Though I knew the only one song of the Golden bomber, I could enjoy the live with shouting and dancing.  On Sunday night, we held the party to celebrate the successful completion.  After that, we went to karaoke.  I sang and shouted, so my voice has been dead.  However, I had a very good time with my friends.  Aoyama Festival was great!!!

my lunch to day

I bought two rice balls at Orijin-bento today for lunch. It was reeeally big and heavy! The name of them was jumbo-onigiri, but they were huge like a baseball ball. I gave up eating one of them and decided to eat later.
Though I am not sure if I would feel like eating it. May be I will have it for my supper lol

I am full right now that I might fall asleep in the next classes...

The lost thing

Hello! This is Nami.
I'm sorry I almost forgot about the lost thing.

Setting- I think this story was located in a suburb which had once prospered.
As time passed, young people have gone to big cities, and things that had been used were left. Also, it seemed to be set in the near past, because it was filled with sign boards, not with the electricity. Trains were moving on rails, not in the air as what many people imagine the future to be.

Symbol- The lost thing is a symbol of things which are no longer used by human beings such as phones, computers, refrigerators.

Conflict- The boy and the lost thing were in conflict with others in modern society.

Irony- He liked to spend time together with the lost thing, but the society did not accept him to keep it, because it was too big to move there. He had to leave him anywhere he should be.

Climax- It seemed that no one had room for the lost thing or any idea what it was, but finally the boy found the place for lost things.

Theme- You should not waste things which could be still used.

school festivals

Last Sunday, I was in Aoyama and Meiji universities for their school festivals.
The food there was delicious, the shows were amazing!
I was at those festivals all day long except the time to move to the other university, but every minute I was there I could feel the excitement in me and the whole school.

What I thought especially amazing, was my friend's band concert!
It was all girls the band that my friend was in, but in spite of their cute looks, they were all really so cool and each of them seemed very independent playing their different roles to unite their music to one.
Another singing I heard in the afternoon at Aogaku's church,
the Christian Choirs for Aoyama Gakuin was also VERY AMAZING.
I literally felt it was as if watching a two hour movie and its ending kind of touchingness.
and the tranquility inside the neat wooden church made the time even richer, making a contrast between the cheerful mood outside the heavy doors :)
It was so nice; if anyone have a opportunity, I'd definitely recommend you to hear them!

Now I look back, I didn't see miss nor mister contest for either universities, and I couldn't see so many of the events held there.
For me to enjoy much more in those festivals, I look forward to going there next year again!

archery

Today, I had archery practice at Sagamihara campus. We practice archery on every Wednesday and Saturday. Though we had Aoyama Festival on last Saturday that I had not played archery since last Wednesday. It is tough to shoot when I pull my bow after not having pull it for a while. Today's practice was awful for me. It seemed like my bow has changed its pounds and weights. My trapezius started hurting after I shoot about hundreds. It would not hurt usually, so I might be shooting in a wrong way. However, I noticed that I really love the sounds and feeling of shooting an arrow. It sounds and feels very awesome. No one can hear and feel them unless they actually shoot once. There are no other things that we can experience them. They are very special. The feeling of shooting in the middle of the target is of course really cool, too. I reconfirmed that I love archery today :)

club and seniors

This is a picture of our room at Aoyama Festival.
I want to draw a huge illust like the one in this picture.
I got into Manga club in April, this year and I communicated with many club members through some months.
I wasn't belong to any clubs at highschool so the club is totally new for me :) It is so fun to talk with club members in the club room and communication between us and seniors told me a lot of things.
In Aoyama Festival the seniors told us what to do and how to do when we work. They we really helpful and kind but I'm not sure if I can do the same thing to next years' juniors!
I don't want time to fly so fast but time flies so I kind of decided to care more about it. However I think I'll forget about it in three days!
I want to controll myself more_(┐「ε:)_I can't be good senior!

!!Aoyama Festival!!

From Friday to Sunday was a school festival at Aoyama Gakuin!
I spent busy and fun days through Aosai!
What I mostly did was to advertise our club in front of the building next to the main gate.

I ofcourse drew some portraits too! However, I don't like drawing a portrait so it was hard work.
It is a rule that we have to talk to the customers when we are drawing, so I had to communicate with people a lot, and it was kind of difficult!!
I have to draw a portrait every year and I thought that I need more practice.
I should draw better next year so that I can teach juniors!!!!!

a candle from halloween

We had a halloween party last thursday and got candles from Ms. Nakasone.
It is a pumpkin candle and looks so cute.
I was looking forward to use it, but I noticed that i did not have anything to put light on it lol
I should go get some fire as soon as possible.

Needless to say, the party was awesome and it was my best halloween party I ever had :)

the shocking news

Hello! This is Nami.
Last Friday, I was on my way home from work midnight.
And then, I found an article that was the most surprising, unbelievable, shocking, heartbreaking one I'd ever heard.
It said Miranda Kerr, who I once wrote about in this blog, and Orland Bloom had decided to separate.
Since I really respected and loved the way they were, that made me so sad that I was weeping on the train.
I turned to be disable to believe ‘love lasts forever.’ Of course I'm quite sure that I have strong love for my family and friends and that I will love them forever and always, but when it comes to relationships, I feel nervous.
Though they decided to divorce, they were taken a shot as taking a walk together with their lovely son, Flynn, in Central Park, NY after that news.
I hope they would get back together.

Live concert & Aoyama Festival!

On Friday, I went to Saitama Super Area with my mom to see the live concert of our favorite band. The band is called CNBLUE and they are from Korea.  Also, I'm going to go to Nagoya to see their concert on December too!
On Saturday, I went to Aoyama Festival. Our circle, Ardore, sold frankfurter. It was very fun for me to call out to visitors, because I had never experienced a refreshment stand before. Then, that night I saw a live concert of Golden Bomber with my circle members. I just only knew one of their song but I enjoyed a lot. I jumped and danced during the whole concert so I  got tired after that.
Sunday was the last day of Aoyama Festival. Our circle's frankfurters are all sold out and our sales reached 180,000yen. At night we moved to Roppongi and had a party too.

The Lost Thing

I`m sorry for late
Setting
The place was in the city that things has been moving by steam.
the time is could be past because steam used in the past.

conflict
I guess the conflict was the red was lost and nobody did not notice that.

Climax.
In my opinion climax was when he took the red to the place for forgotten and chose to not leave her.

Symbol
There were wave arrow that was pointing the place she is going to stay so i think waved arrow symbolized wandering or, nowhere to go

Irony.
He didn't leave her to the place for forgetting however at last he kept her into the place that nobody knows.

theme
You should remember the things that you stopped to use it.

Question for Mr. Armstrong

I have two questions about the Book Report!

Can I ignore two questions in the book report form(Pink book pp.26)  2) and 4)?
All I have to do is the MLA citation, 7 literary terms, literary analysis and references, right?

Sorry if I bothering you, Mr. Armstrong. ;(

Happy happy weekend

I totally forget about posting message lastweek. I am so sorry about that.

Speaking of my weekend, it was really great weekend that I could do many things.
Firstly, I went to Shimikitazawa with my friends on Friday. We hang around street shops and had Taco rice at lovely cafe.
Secondly, I went to Aoyama cultural festival with friends from other university.
We hang around many stalls and had some yummy food.

I really had a goodweekend and am satiafied that I could do quite a lot of things.

Dinner with my friend

I am sorry for posting blog constantly.

Today, I had dinner with my friend from my circle IAESTE. She is a student of Sophia University and one year senior to me.
Everytime we have dinner, we keep talking and talking without thinking about the time.
Today, we also talked and talked a lot. We mainly talked about our circle IAESTE and people from there. We go different university so we talked about our schoollives as well.
I really like talking with her since she uses Kansai dialect and has much more broader point of view.
Those makes me feel like to talk about anything. Whenever I see her, I always consult and get advice from her.

Anyway, had a really good time and thank her a lot:)

Sorry about roundabout and long sentences.

belated post of The Lost Thing

1.      Setting – The town where it is very busy and polluted in the future.
2.      Conflict – A boy found the lost thing but they don’t know where it came from
3.      Climax – The lost thing finally found the place where it should have lived.
4.      Symbol –The lost thing is the symbol of our innocence.
5.      Irony –The irony of this video is that the boy became adult, and he wasn’t able to see the lost things around himself.
6.      Theme –We are forget the important things as getting ages and getting more things to do.
Q: What’s the lost thing?
A: The lost thing is the thing we used to have when we are children. (I believe we can see the lost thing now)
