On Monday, I learned about the difference of languages between countries during the class of translation.
For example, in Japanese, there are a lot of onomatopoeia such as "hiri-hiri" or "biri-biri".
On the other hand, in other languages, there are so many verbs insted of onomatopoeia.
So, if we try to translate some Japanese books into the books of other languages, it is difficult to tell a subtle difference in nuance completely.
I studied about cross-culture from the point of view of languages through the class.
By the way, I'd like to explain the difference between "hiri-hiri" and "biri-biri".
"hiri-hiri" means stinging pain which we have when we get a scratch.
"biri-biri" means the feeling people get from an electric shock such as static electricity. Moreover, the word means the sound of tearing something forcelly.
Don't you think it is interesting?
It is useful to learn the difference of langueges, I think.
