Banana..

The ba-ba-ba ba-na-na-na♬

The banana..

The main characters in this clip where the man and his.. friend(?)
The man woke up realizing his room was such a great mess, and remembering that his parents were coming to visit his house. Of course, every one would panic. Like, totally freak out. Well, I would anyway.

As he was panicking his friend taught him 7 ways a banana could be useful.

1) The banana was able to turn into a shoe shiner.
2) It's able to polish leaves, if there are plants in your house.
3) Scratchy bug bites can be reduced.
4) Polishing wooden furniture.
5) Cosmetics can be taken off.
6) The scratches from CD's can be taken off.
7) It can also turn in to a fruit fly trap.

With his friends cleverness and the usefulness of a banana, the man was able to meet his parents with a smile. (:

Yesterday.

Though I'm not that good at it photography is something that I really enjoy.
I love to look at photos and i also love to take them.

That's why yesterday I asked my friend to help me take some photos after we finished kareoke.
She is a friend since junior high, even though we didn't have much in common we're quite good friends. I quite like the photos that I took yesterday... The weather was really nice so it was fun to be outside as well!

I hope the sunny weather continues...

Scary movies

I really like scary movies, but I got too used to it that it's not as scary as it used to be. I wish I can find a good scary movie that will make me jump.

A period of transition

Even though not even a month has passed since we started college, many of us already feel tired and fatigue. I do not blame you; about 3 months ago we were still in high school trying to figure out which college to go to and what to do with our lives. Now, we are suddenly in a completely new environment, trying to adjust to this different place. That can be very tiring. I hope I get used to school soon!

By the way the "Chicken Namban" in the cafeteria is great! I think it's very tasty and has a lot of chicken for it's price.

How to use a banana in 7 unexpected ways

In this video, the main character wakes up from a slumber party, with all the trash from last night still laying around. He must clean up all the mess before his parents visit at 12:30. Luckily, he has Jesus to help him clean up the house with bananas.

The seven ways of unexpectedly using bananas are:

1:Using in as a substitute for shoe shine

2: Polishing leaves
3: Cleaning and polishing wooden furniture
4: Reducing itchiness from bug bites
5: Erasing cosmetics
6: Removing scratches from CD's
7: Making a fruit fly trap

In the end, Jesus and his friend are successful at cleaning up the house, and Jesus does him one last favor of throwing away the bananas and a coke can on a desk.

reunion. and report.

I went dinner with a friend from highschool tonight. she texted me like 3 nights ago and told me she goes to Aoyama gakuin university too! I knew she wanted to go to public university, so I thought she was going there. but she couldn't get into that school and now she's coming to Aoyama uni! I never thought of that! I'm sorry she's not going to her dream school, but happy I can hang out with her anytime.

now I'm writing my media report.. I already chose the news but I don't even know if it's actually about human relationships! what if it's not?! oh I'm panicking!

"Are you beach body ready?"

Because I have nothing to talk about and I pretty much didn't do anything over the weekends, I'm gonna talk about an article about an advertisement I found over the weekend which is called "Are you beach body ready?".

As some people have already seen them they are yellow colored advertisement with bikini body model and says "Are you beach body ready?" which advertise protein whey.

Because the idea of "Everyone looks great in their own shape." is getting common these days, people had to reject this advertisement and say "Every body is beach body ready".

In my opinion, even though I'm not plus sized woman, I also think that everyone looks great in their own shape and people shouldn't be forced to do work out by advertisement. If you are not happy with your body, (like me, because I gained some kilos over the spring break) go and do some work outs. But if you are happy with your body, then be happy and be proud of who you are.

About my Goldenweek

Hi.

I am thinking what to do in the Golden week now.

My new life in this University is really exciting, but to be honest, I am a little bit tired.
The homework given every day, was way beyond my imagination, and looking for a part time job, and go seeing a lot of circles were quite a hard work.
I am having difficulties at making my own time. I just want to take a rest now.
I want to borrow some interesting DVDs and watch it alone at home.

Thanks for reading.

about the banana

The main characters are the lazy man and his friend. When the man woke up and saw the calendar, he suddenly remembered that his parents will visit his room at 12:30. He and his friend must clean up the messy room in a short time. Luckily, his friend knew how to use a banana in 7 unexpected ways.

1. Rub in the inside of the banana peel to a shoes (or something made of leather), and wipe it with a cloth.

2. Wipe the leaves of the plant with a banana peel. It removes dust and dirt, and makes the leaves soft and shiny.

3. Rub the banana fruit directly to a damaged furniture and wipe it with a cloth.

4. Rub a banana peel after being bitten by a mosquito.

5. You can erase the inc stain with a banana peel

6. Rub the banana peel to a damaged CD and wipe it with a cloth. It removes scratches.

7. Put a banana in a half folded plastic bag, and it gathers the fruit flies. You can just throw the bag away after an hour.

The man and his friend finally succeeded to clean up the room, and he was able to meet his parents with a smile.

Why the man’s friend knew so much about banana, was maybe he had been studying it for a long time.

part time job2

Today, I had a part time job.
As I said before, I am doing a teacher at a cram school.
When I just started this job, I alway thought that I wanted to quit it because I thought I wsn't good at teaching, but now, since I got used to it, I am a little having fun teaching English and Math.
Sometimes it is difficult to calm down the elementary school students, but I am sure they are doing thier best. I am still having difficult teaching grammers to the high school students, but i am studying it before the class so I am learning it too. Now, I am feeling i would continue this work for a while.

bananas

The main character which is a man woke up one morning to be shocked.
He didn't notice that his parents will come at 12:30 until the day his parents come,
and he had a big party the day before and his room was a mess.

He started to clean, and when was about to throw away the bananas, his friend from the party last night, stopped it.
His friend showed him 7 unexpected ways to use a banana.

There were

1. Rub any kind of things made of leather (shoes, jacket) with the banana peal.
2. Wipe the leaves of the plant with the banana peal and remove the dusts and dirts and make it shine.
3. Rub the furniture with the actual banana and wipe it with a cloth.
4. Smear the banana peal where there is a mosquito bite.
5. Erase the stain of a paint with the banana peal.
6. Remove the CD scratch by rubbing the banana peal.
7. Catch the fruit flies by putting a banana into a half folded plastic bag, and wait an hour or two and throw it away.

At the end of the story, the man's parents arrived.
The man's friend has special knowledge about banana because I think he was researching about banana for a long time.

The weekend

As kousuke wrote, I also went camping with ESS(English Speaking Society) members. We talked, playing at the shores, did fire works and ate a lot. It was like in a summer vacation. I made myself joining the group.
Since this weekend, I'm working at an Italian restaurant and surprisingly at the day we'll probably be on TV or inteviewed. I'm looking forword to working there but also worrying about the unexpected event.

How to use banana in seven unexpected ways

A situation in a video was that a man who appears first(main character) had a party in the previous day and the room turned to be crazily messy. He woke up late and noticed that his parents would come in a couple hours,12:30, so he started cleanig up the room using bananas with his roommate(relationship) whose father is a banana farmar.

How to use a banana in 7 unexpected ways

Well…….since I found the post “Pop-up Ad Problem Solved!”, finally I write a blog about bananas from last Tuesday.

The main character is a man with a shaved head and a checked shirt who just about to gets up after he had a huge party at his house the day before with a big mess left and seems like he is in a big rush because he realised by looking at the calendar that his parents are going to come over to his house at 12:30. Luckily one of his friends stayed overnight at his house so he has a buddy to do some clean up with. His friend gives some ideas for cleaning with bananas that we have never known. Let me explain 7 ways of using bananas for cleaning below.

1. Rub the inside of a banana peel to shine shoes and wipe it away.

2. Wipe down the houseplant leaves to remove dust using a banana peel and make it shiny and soft.

3. Rub an overripe banana to polish wood furniture and wipe off with a cloth.

4. Rub the inside of a banana peel to settle down a mosquito bite.

5. A banana peel can be a kind of makeup remover to erase scribbling.

6. Remove scratches on CDs using the inside of a banana peel.

7. Get rid of fruit fries with putting some banana peels in a resealable bag with the top half opened and wait few hours to gather them and finally throw it away.

All these ideas his friend provides. I think his friend is a big banana lover and that is why he knows further information about bananas.

At the end of the video clip, the narration tells us “The average American eats 28 pounds of bananas a year, which pales next to Ugandans, who consume the most bananas of any country—about 500 pounds per person per year.” From this information, maybe his friend is one of the biggest banana consumers in Ugandans………

Thank you for reading!

See you all tomorrow J

Pensieve

I feel like I need a sort of tape recorder in my head every time I think up something interesting to write about, but don't have the time nor space nor any of the other important parameters. They say that even million-dollar ideas sometimes strike at 3 A.M.

I suppose that's one of the reasons why I carry an iPod touch set to "Notes" here and there - to write down ideas that hatch in my head that I would love to masticate on later - not always reliable, but good enough for now. It just popped into my mind while writing this down that this thought receptacle would almost be like a Pensieve from Harry Potter. I would slowly pour in the thoughts that I've kept aside, and voilà...

Would I try this? maybe...

In the video the person who seemed like the main character woke up with his head in the lampshade probably because he was partying last night and became drunk. At 12:30 his parents were going to come to his house to check how he's living alone. His friend was still with him who ha a bit of knowledge with using bananas to clean and that's how it started. The seven ways were cleaning shoes and other things made out of leather, removing dust and dirt off of things,  polishing wooden furniture, ease the itch out of the mosquito bites, get ink stains out, removing scratches from CDs,  and finally using it like a fly trap. In the end his parents arrived to his house and thanks to his friend the house is ready to show. I think he is so knowledgeable because, he was drunk the night before and was wiping everything with banana peals and the techniques worked so he's showing off to his friend.

Fever

I had a fever yesterday.
I couldn't go to school.
I went today, but I had trouble concentrating on the lecture.
I hope I can make it through tomorrow...

Bananas bananas bananananas

The situation in the Video
A young man wakes up in a total chaos. It seem like he was partying crazy the night before.
As he wakes up, he ralizes that his parents are going to visit him that afternoon at 12:30. He starts panicking because he needs to clean his dirty apartment. Luckily a friend is there to give him a hand. His friend suggests him to use some overripe bananas which were left from the party to clean the apartment.
The young man being a bit confused is taught how to use bananas in seven unexpected ways.

Use a banana or it's peel to...

1. clean shoes or anything made of leather
2. remove dust and dirt
3. polish
4. treat mosquito bites
5. erase ink stains
6. remove scratches on CDs
7. get rid of fruit flies

At the end his aparment is clean thanks yo his friend's help. There is also an informative narration which says American eat 28 pounds of bananas a year whereas people in Uganda eat 500 pounds per year.

Why does his friend have so much information about bananas?

In reality, his friend is a banana fairy! That explains why he has so much knowledge about bananas. No just joking ;)
I think his friend lives alone and by the years he might have learned that it's important to economize. So, instead of throwing away banana peel he probably stdied how to use them efficiently as cleaning goods.

Marmalade

Today I bought german bread and marmalade! They were pretty expensive but I think it's worth it ;) I love japanese food but sometimes I just miss the food I ate back in Germany. I'm so happy that Tokyo has many shops where foreign food is sold. When I lived in Yamaguchi I always went to bigger shopping departments. Unfortunately there was only one in my city and it was pretty far :(
I really enjoy my life in Tokyo now! Super convenient and it never gets boring.

I recommend Hagebutte taste!
It's called rose hip in English

Equestrian club🐎

This Sunday, I went to Machida to join the equestrian club.
I always wanted to start horseback riding, so I was very happy when I found there is the equestrian club at Aoyama.
I know that it's hard to treat animals, but I'm excited more than that.
I'll do my best!!!

Unexpected schedule

After a few weeks of university life, I realized that my weekly class schedule became an unexpected one. First of all, my weekend length is actually 3 days since I only have 1st period on Fridays and 5th period on Mondays. I was thinking that first graders would be busier than highschool students so I was very surprised. At the same time, I'm grateful to have more time than I expected to do other things. However, it's not always good to have too much spare time. If you don't use it well, it's just a waste of time. I don't want to make my university life empty, so I'll always try to spend time wisely like I said before in the different post in this blog.

ESS Welcome Camp

The weekend was amazing because I went on a welcome camp of the ESS. We went to Chiba to go to the beach and to just become friends with the people in the same grade and some senpais. My most memorable thing that Ryosuke 2 other guy senpais and I did was to throw in some of the senpai girls in to the ocean. It was such an amazing time. On the second day we were very tired but we went to the Yokohama China town to eat Chinese food. If we have another chance to do these kinds of things I would gladly go anytime.

Tennis

Yesterday, a Japanese tennis player won a tennis tournament held in Barcelona. The players name is Kei Nishikori. He is now ranked 5th in the ATP world ranking. His play style is very aggressive.
His strong point is the backhand. All the players in the world is aware about his backhand when they play against Nishikori. Last year, he got the second place in the U.S. open championships. This made Nishikori and tennis famous in Japan. I'm so happy because, I was one of the kids who were inspirited by Nishikori.

Bananas

I thought that the two guys had a party at one of the guys house. The guy with his house fithy remembered that his parents will come today. His hippy friend who knows alot about plants shows him natural ways to use bananas.
1. They used banana peels to polish leather shoes
2. They used banana peels to remove dust
3. They polished wooden furniture using the inside using a banana
4. They rubbed mosquito bites using banana peels
5. They erased ink stanes
6. They rubbed banana peels on scratched CDs
7. They catched fruit flies putting bananas inside a plastic bag placing the opening down
At the end, they cleaned up on time

Going bananas

The video that we watched on Tuesday this week presented to us seven unexpected uses of overripe bananas and banana peels.

The video starts off by showing us the aftermath of a party. Person 1 (I'll call him Homely from now on) wakes up to find that his home is a mess - and only hours away from being visited by his parents. Homely, hands on head in shock, immediately starts to clean the house. Just as he's about to throw away some overripe bananas, when Person 2 (Caveman, a rare specimen of Homo sapiens bananavorus) comes to the rescue.

The first was using a banana peel to clean leather shoes, and the second was to also use a peel to wipe dust off household plants. Thirdly, Caveman shows us that pieces of an overripe banana could be used to polish wooden, lacquered furniture. A banana skin could stop a bug bite from stinging and also remove ink stains from human skin. Finally, banana pieces can be used to clean off scratches on CDs, as well as trap fruit flies when put in a plastic bag. As they say, time flies like an arrow and fruit flies like a banana; the characters manage to clean their house barely on time and the parents come at 12:30. Clearly, they've had fun going bananas.

Knowledge of how bananas can be used in many different purposes is definitely something that I'll keep in mind every time I eat one from now on.

As for who Caveman is, who knows? Since he knows so much about bananas, maybe he's studying biology and chemistry, or grew up in Uganda (the top consumer of bananas worldwide), or even an imaginary friend.

7 unexpected ways to use bananas

How to use bananas in 7 unexpected ways:
1. Polish leather.
2. Wipe dust off plants.
3. Polish wooden furniture.
4. Heal stings from insects.
5. Erase ink stains.
6. Remove scratches from CDs.
7. Get rid of fruit flies.

There are two main characters. One person lives in the house and is freaking out about his parents visiting at 12:30. At 12:30, the man was going to receive a visit from his parents. The problem is, the man seems to have forgotten all about it, and had a crazy party the night before. The house is a mess, and the man has to clean it all up before his parents come.
The other is a man with long hair. He seems to be a visitor or a friend of the man who lives in the house, because he isn't flustered like the other man. The man with the beard is the one who teaches the poor owner of the room how to clean his house using overripe bananas.
In the end, thanks to the man with the long hair, the house is cleaned up, and everything is ready for the parents' visit.
I'm guessing that the bearded man was so knowledgeable about bananas because he went to an Earth Day festival and was shocked at how much bananas were being wasted. So, after that he researched a lot about bananas and how to use them.

hot spring

Today, I went to a hot spring with my family.
I went to a hot spring after a long time, and I could get rid of my stress.
It was a very precious time for me.

How to use a banana in seven unexpected ways

I think the main character in this story is a man who wore checked shirt.
He woke up and got flustered, because his room was in an awful mess.
He had a party at his house the previous day.
His parents was going to visit him at 12:30, so he had to clean his room quickly. Then, a man appeared, and told him to use a banana in unexpected ways.
  1. polish shoes
  2. clean houseplants
  3. polish furniture
  4. soothe a bug bite
  5. erase ink stains from skin
  6. remove scratches from CD
  7. get rid of flies
I think a man had a special knowledge of banana because he used to live in Uganda.

Will to study

I think that it is very important to have a will to study when you are in university. No one cares if you study or don't but going to university without studying is just a waste of money and time. I'm always trying to attend classes with my best proportion everyday. However, I sometimes feel like I don't want to study. I've got loads of homework already and it makes me stressful. I've run into this situation many times when I was in highschool. It is still very difficult for me to use time wisely. I hope I will be able to handle them in the next four years. My objective for now is to work on my homework whenever I find out that I have nothing to do. I hope I can get used to doing it in about a month and spend an effective university life.

Point match with an oracle

Today, I joined a point match race of a written oracle. We made pairs randomly and collected many written oracle to get the highest amount of luck. My partner was an elder student from same major and we could talk about many things such as information about regular classes in school. We walked for 6hours and finally finished the race. My legs were very painful at last. However, we went to a pub and had dinner which healed my legs and made me energetic again. I could talk about many things again with other members in the circle. I think I could keep talking forever. I'm very grateful to have these great people as my friends and I'm looking forward to joining the upcoming events, too.
tomorrow I have to go to school even though I have no class...
just need to submit some important scholarship papers...
and afterward I have work from evening...being tutor sometimes takes my power since i have to prepare a lot...well hope everything will be okay

Good night everyone!
sleep tight.

Banana Jesus

Hi everyone, how was your weekend?
hope you had a lot of fun!

well, let me explain the use of banana in smart way that not so many people are aware!;3

Before you start, you need to prepare:Overripe banana, lint-free cloths and resealable plastic bag!

1: Rub the inside of anything made of leather such as shoes, jacket with the peel of banana and finish it with lint-free cloths

2: Wipe off the leaf of houseplant using banana peel that will help you to get rid of dust and dirt and give more soft and shiny

3: Polish the scratch on the shelf to let them disappear and wipe off with cloths to finish it

4: Put the banana peel onto your skin where you're bitten by mosquite

5: Erase the make-up on face or paints with banana peel

6: Take the banana peel and remove the scratches on the CDs then wipe off with cloths

7: Put banana peel in a plastic ziplog bag with top half sealed down and wait 1 hour until all the flying insects are gathered in that bag and then seal the top and throw it away outside.

the situation is very speedy I guess
a skin-headed man are trying to clean the messy room for the visit of his parents at 12:30 and another bearded man is giving him so many tips how to do it for him.
So obviously they must be friend.
bearded man has lots of knowledge about the use of banana...by the way, my first impression about him was actually "Wow, he just looks like Jesus!" lol

anyway, back to the topic,
the jesus guy propably come from Uganda where the consumption of banana is the highest because if it is true, actually it can convince me why he is super familier for the use of banana.
and in the end of this video clip, a narrator guy is telling us  about the highest banana consumption country and America's consumption in a year. A bearded guy left room after skin-headed guy succeeded to clean the house, and I guess he is telling us not to waste anything even though we think that it is no use. from that action, we can be friendly to the world and part of helping.

That was my interpretation.
Thanks!

About the video of seven different unexpected ways to use a banana

First I'm going to explain the video. I think the main character is about a skin headed man and his beared aquaintence. In the beginning the skin headed man wakes up on the floor in a panic.his house is a huge mess from what looks like a party from the night before. His parents are supposed to visit him at 12:30 later that day. He starts cleaning his house and is about to throw away a bowl of over ripe banana peals when the beared man, who apparently crashed on the couch from the party the night before, wakes up and stops him. " No! Don't throw away those bananas. You can use them to clean the house." The skin head man looks confused on hearing this comment.
These are the seven unexpected ways you can use a banana to clean the house.
 1. Rub the inside of a banana peal on things made of leather. This helps to polish and clean leather
     Products.
 2. Rub banana peals on plant leaves. It helps to keep plant looking shinny and clean.

 3. Rub the inside of an over ripe banana on wood furniture and wipe off with a cloth. This also helps
     to polish funiture.
 4. Rub banana on mosquito bite. It helps to take away the sting.

 5.  Rub banana peal on ink stains. It helps to instantly remove ink.

 6.  Rub banana peal on scratched  CDs. It helps to take off the scratches off CDs.

 7.  Put over ripe bananas in a plastic ziplock bag with the top half folded down. Leave on the table
and wait for the fruit flies to gather. Once they settled unfold the top half, zip the zip lock and
throw away the bag. It helps as a fruit flie catcher.
So the skin head man is able to clean his house with the knowledge and help of the beared man. What happens ag the end is they had the house clean just in time as the skin head man's parents ring the door bell. The skin head man rushes to the door as the beared man throws away one last coke can and rushes out the back door.
In my opinion the beared man had so much knowledge of bananas because he used to live in Uganda. At the end of this video there is a narration showing the most consumers of bananas are Ugandan. And from his ruff beared features perhaps he's into organic and natural things. This is my interpretation of the video. I look forward to reading everyone else's interpretations as well.

banana

How to use a banana in 7 unexpected ways.
1. Rub the inside of the banana peel on any leather product and then wipe away the residue and buff with a lint-free cloth for a glossy gleam.
2. Use the inside of the peel to rub off the dirt and dust on the plant.
3. Smear pieces of an overripe banana on wood furniture with your fingers and then wipe it with a cloth.
4. Take the sting out of a mosquito bite by rubbing the inside of the peel.
5. Erase ink stains with the inside of the banana peel.
6. Remove scratches on a CD by smearing some banana on the CD in a circular motion.
Rub it in with the inside of the banana peel.
7. Get rid of fruit flies by putting a overripe banana in a resealable with the top half folded down. Wait an hour or two to all the flies gather in the bag. After you seal the bag throw it in to the garbage bin.
The situation was that there was a party held  that night at the main characters house.
As he woke up he was shocked to realize that his parents will visit his house in 12:30.
When had to clean up the room, he was stopped to throw the overripe banana by a man from the party. He taught the main character how to use a in 7 unexpected way.
At the end it tells us that Americans eat 28 pounds of bananas every year in average.I think the man knew the facts because, he was researching the ways to make a overripe banana useful.

Pop-up Ad Problem Solved!

After a lot of work, I believe that I have solved the pop-up ad problem. Yay! Everyone come back in and blog away!

cheerleading

Yesterday, I went to experience cheerleading with my friend from highschool. We were both experienced so we got to do some difficult stunts. It had already been a few months since we last did cheerleading so I enjoyed it a lot.
I'm still considering if I should continue cheerleading or join some different activities.

Watching "How to use a banana in 7 unexpected ways".

In this video clip, the characters are the panicky guy and the guy who tells him how to use a bananas in 7 unexpected ways.

So the 7 unexpected ways of using a banana is
1, Rubbing on leather to polish.
2, Rubbing on plant to extract dirt.
3, Rubbing on table to extract dirt and polish.
4, Rubbing on mosquito bite to cure.
5, Rubbing on skin to erase ink.
6, Rubbing on back of the CDs to remove any scratch.
7, Put banana peels in the bag for an hour or two to collect fruit flies.

At 12:30 pm aka at the end of this video clip, the parents of the panicky guy visits. So the bell rings and the guy who told him use of a banana goes back somewhere.

And because "the average Americans eat 28 pounds of bananas a year which pales next to Ugandans who consume the most bananas of any country-about 500 pounds per person per year", I'm guessing the guy who lectured about the use of a banana to be an American who lives in Uganda.

In my opinion, I found this video clip to be interesting. And I could use for cleaning things, but definitely not for removing make ups with bananas x(

The feedback on the banana video

A man in a video showed us seven unexpected ways to use a banana.
1.Rub anything that's made out of leather with inside of banana peel.
2.Rub the plant leaves to make them shine.
3.Rub a table with pieces of overriped bananas and wipe off.
4.Rub mosquito bite with banana peel
5.Rub ink with banana peel
6.Wipe CD with banana peel
7.Gather fruit flies by putting some banana peels and fruit inside a plastic bag and leave it on a table for a while.

A man had a big party last night at his house and he woke up to find out that his parents are coming over to his house at 12:30PM. However, the rooms were dirty and he decided to clean those rooms with a guy who was also at his house.

The main characters were a guy who lives in his house and a guy who was with the guy who lives in the house. I think that the second guy was a friend of the house owner and was invited to the last night's party. They cooperated to clean the house.

At 12:30, the house owner's parents are coming over. This is why the boys are cleaning the house.

At the end of the video, the owner's parents rang the bell. The owner's friend went away from the other side of the front door.

I think that the house owner's friend had knowledge about bananas because maybe he was an Ugandan. At the end of the video, the narrator was talking about how many bananas Ugandan consume. I thought that explanation relates to the characters of the video.

A Little Spam

Hi everyone! Thanks for coming in so strongly on this blog and posting frequently. It seems that we have a bit of a "spam" problem with a pop-up ad that has attached to the site. We can still post around it but maybe it is best that we don't post for a couple of days while I work on getting rid of it, OK? I'll let you know when I have it solved so check this site from time to time . . .

How to use a banana in 7 unexpected ways

In this video, there were 7 ways introduced on how to clean your house using a banana.
1. To polish a material made out of leather like bag and shoes, rub the banana skin on and wipe it off with a cloth.
2. Wipe the leaf with the banana peal to make it shiny.
3. Put/wipe the actual banana on wood furnitures and wipe it off with the cloth to make it shiny.
4. When you get stung by a mosquitoe, rub the banana skin onto your skin.
5. Rub away the pen marks on your skin using the skin on the banana.
6. Remove scratches of CD's using the banana skin and wipe it off.
7. Get rid of the food mosquitoes by putting banana peals into the ziplock bag. Have the top half opened and leave it for an hour. Close the zipolock and throw it out.

In this video, the main character who is an ordinary guy is in panic because he's parents are visiting his house at 12:30. The reason why he was in panic is because he had a huge party going on the night before and his house is a mess.
His friend who stayed over at his house helps him out by requesting ways to clean the house by using the bananas.
At the end, they manage to clean the house on time.

At the end of the video informed us by saying information a large amount of Americans eat bananas everyday. From this information, we might be able to tell that the guy who helped the main character clean the house had the knowledge on bananas because he personally is one of the Americans who enjoy eating bananas frequently.

ESS

I've been thinking for a while now and finally i decided to join the ESS circle. Thanks to Ryosukes help I'm going to be able to go to the welcome camp that will be held this weekend at Chiba. We are planned to go to the beach(even though it might be too cold to go in) barbecue and have fun! I'm very excited and can't wait!

Just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed...

"Raindrops keep falling on my head
but doesn't mean my eyes will soon
be turning red
crying's not for me, 'cause
i'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining
because i'm free
nothing's worrying me
nothing's worrying me."

♪Song : 「Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head」 - B. J. Thomas

I used to sing this song in my primary school. Sometimes I just sit up at night, listen to songs that I used to sing and listen to and just reminiscence. I miss the days when I used to run around and not think difficultly.

But I guess complaining and wishing to go back won' t take me anywhere and it's definitely not going to make me any younger so... even though the weather isn't in the best condition I hope this week will be full of smile and laughter.

Mermaid.

Mermaid. - Tezuka Osamu

I think that the main character in this story is the boy and that what he desired was to be accepted and to be allowed to imagine. The problem is that he was too honest and didn't want to lie about what he thought he saw. He wanted to believe in himself and wanted others to believe in himself as well, but not everyone was fond of people being different minded. In the end I think that the boy thought if he wasn't allowed to imagine, or wasn't allowed to be creative there was no point in living.

At first I thought it was just about a boy wasn't allowed to believe in his imagination but the more I thought about it and tried to understand it, the more confuse I got. This film made me think a lot about sticking to what you believe in and that even though not everyone will understand you, it's important to keep on believing in yourself if it makes you happy.

part time job

Hello.
I am writiing this blog half a sleep.

I am writing it this late, because I had a part time job until 11o'clock.
My part time job is a teacher at a cram school.
After coming back from home, I had to eat dinner and take a shower and finally I started my media discussion report.
I just finished it and now I am writing the blog. After I write this blog I am going to jump into my bed.

And I have a question. Have you guys already started reading the book?
Because I haven't yet. I was just wondering.

Well, I think that is it for tonight.
Good night.

Before I sleep

It was my 1st day of work today, that's why very exhausted and sleepy...
This is my 1st trial to work as a tutor in my life therefore everything seems complicated and makes me confused...
It was kinda my small dream that I wanted to achieve while I am in university to be tutor.
every time when I helped my friend for study, I used to get passion and enthusiasm by teaching them.
of course I'm super nervous since i have to take heavier responsibility compared to the most of other part time job. but I trust in myself that nothing is impossible for me as long as I try my best.(Well, I hope so)
Wish me luck everyone;)!
and good night, see you all tomorrow with lots of homework!

Mermaid

hello everyone!
well it is already 1 am so most of you might be swimming in the dream now
however, i was trying to post on thins blog but for some technical reason,
I couldn't log in up to now.
So here, I'm gonna re-write to give my feedback for Mermaid.

The main characters is a dreamy boy in a distant country and a beautiful mermaid who turns to be the ordinal fish to other peoples' eyes around him.

When A boy encountered the young mysterious mermaid, he naturally fell in love with her.
Day by day, his love for her was becoming bigger and powerful.

One day he took her to his home and kept in water tank in order to introduce her to his family,
however it was just a fish to other peoples' eyes including his family. Nobody could recognize her as a human even though he was claiming that she is a definitely beautiful mermaid to his eyes. That is why he was began to treat as a weirdo by others for that reason.

He struggled a lot and felt alone since nobody could understand him at all.
But still he've never forgotten about her existence and good memory he spent with her.

In the end, he made up his mind to release her back the sea where he found her and then the beautiful mermaid came back with smile he used to see.

This short animation is very interestning and great for 1964. what makes more interesting is that even it has no audio, it gives us lots of imagination and think deeply to understand what is going on.
I'm yet to come up with the answer for what is the theme and message for this animation,
however, the author might be hoping to deliver the meaning that people can only enjoy their lives within our territory and when we crossed the line, nothing can be excused including love? maybe.
I really have no idea but that's how I conclude here^^

Thanks for reading!

What I did recently.

I don't know what to talk about, so I'm just gonna talk about some stuff that I did recently.

On Saturday, I tried finishing my school work that I got from last week that are due next week which I didn't finish them all, so I'm trying my best to finish them on time.

On Sunday, I got a Starbucks using my tumbler and free ticket to get the new seasonal drink "Fruits-on-top Yogurt Frappuccino". And when I got the drink, I got to have a receipt that I can get a free tall size drink. After that, I went to my work, but I had a bad work day. So my Sunday was both good and bad.

I'm now going to go back to my computer to finish my school work.

Ame nimo makezu, Kaze nimo makezu

Today I went to school to attend a class. The wind was so strong, and got wet from the rain in spite of the huge umbrella I held. The wind wasn't that bad while I was near buildings, but whenever I crossed a road, the wind would surge through as though determined to destroy my umbrella. Near Shibuya Station there were people shrieking as the strong wind gushed. Well, I suppose this is what I have to learn to get used to; leaving the house even when the weather's crazy. I might as well learn it early on.

Mermaid - Osamu Tezuka

Mermaid by Osamu Tezuka

In Tezuka's video "Mermaid" from the year 1964 a boy is tortured for seeing
things differently than the others.
He is daydreaming at the beach when he finds a little fish in a puddle.
After returning the fish into the sea, it transforms into a mermaid.
He takes the Mermaid home and shows it to his parents. However, his parents and all the other people
can't see the mermaid. He has been imagining it.
He keeps on believing in the mermaid but is getting a therapy because of that. He's tortured and manipulated
by the military to make him think the way they want to.
Finally he runs away to bring the Mermaid back to the ocean and eventually dies.

My thoughts on the video:
Since the video was made after WWII I can imagine that the message was
about being oppressed and forced to adapt to the ideals of the
government. Thinking, differently and standing out was a danger so people were educated or even tortured to become "normal" and to obey.
Also, Tezuka may wanted to imply that the way of education in Japan was going to literally kill creativity as we were able to see at the ending. The boy is returning into the ocean with the mermaid which is symbolizing creativity/imagination
. Eventually he and with him his creativity dies.

I felt very sad seeing the video clip but at the same time felt that we have to appreciated our current environment where
we are not as oppressed as the people at that time. Sadly, there are still many countries where people are not allowed to think freely or state their opinions.

Circle activities

I'm still thinking which circle I'd join and recently attending many of them. Doing sports would be regarded as being able to wake up early and well behave toward elderly people. English club can be helping us study and doing homework soon. Some club might help us only make many friends but as a certain teacher said the people who joined that kind of club go on to better workplace propably because they can work with  all the things simultaneously like studying, eaning, playing and be skilled arranging which thing should be finished firstly. There are a lot, but I'd like you to ask on which thing you put the importance?

Monday....

I'm walking to the school with Rey.
We're in great grief because another school week starts....

busy week

It has been a busy week for me since the class started. I've got much homework than I expected and the cold prevents me from finishing them up. there have been a lot of climate changes and it's not very difficult to catch a cold in this chaotic weather. I almost never catch cold but this time, I couldn't refuse it. I hope I get used to the routine as soon as possible and keep up the good work.

Train accidents

I barley used the Tokaido line until I started to go to college. I found there are a lot of train accidents. It must be very hard for people that are in a hurry.

my thoughts on the mermaid story

I think the main character in this story is the boy.

he liked to daydream and thought nothing's wrong with doing so. however their parents thought he's insane and had mental illness, since the country they lived in didnt allow citizens to daydream and wanted them to think the way the country wanted them to. so the boy was sent to jail so that they can brain wash him and make him forget about the mermaid. they tried so many things to keep him from thinking his own way the boy finally actually became insane. only thing he could remember and think of was the mermaid, and in search of her, he entered the ocean. in his daydream, he's happy with the mermaid under the water, but actually he drowned.

by the way, does anyone know how to comment on blogger using the app? I'm having hard time finding it out...

Mouth of Truth

Everyday when I make my commute to Aogaku, I pass what seems to be an Italian tourism bureau three-quarters of the way up from the bottom of the valley. Sitting in front is a near-full size replica of the Bocca della Verità (the Mouth of Truth), a circular sculpture with a man's face on it. The Mouth was said to be a lie detector that would bite liars' hands off. I remember, visiting Rome as a young child, seeing the original in all its glory and being afraid of putting my hand in the mouth lest it be bitten off (so naïve!). That's not the point, though.

People who took the Introduction to Global Literary Theory course on 3rd period Friday would remember that we watched small excerpts from the 1953 romantic comedy Roman Holiday to analyze the cinematography. At one point, we see Hepburn's and Peck's characters loitering in front of the Mouth. Joe Bradley, Peck's character, shoves his hand into the mouth and then acts as if he lost his hand and Hepburn's, Princess Ann, falls for the trick. What most people see as nothing more than a small gag here is actually an important indicator of Her Highness and Mr. Bradley's growing affection for each other.

Now, every time I pass that face, I think back to the time I put my hand in the original Mouth and the scene in Roman Holiday. Sometimes I can't help but grin at what it means to me.

Mermaid

I think the main character is the boy but maybe Tezuka is projecting himself onto this boy.
Even though he was said to be a genius, I think he was maybe feeling a little anxious that he was a bit different on the wavelength from the others.
And this movie is showing that he wants the others to understand the difficulty of people not understanding himself.
From the history of himself getting bullied in his childhood, and saying that when he was in his own world drawing manga and being in a fantasy world was his only relieving time, I think this boy, the main character is exactly him.

The problem is that he is not even understood by his parents that he can see a mermaid not a fish.
People around him not seeing the mermaid, and him being thought that he was a weirdo.

In the end, the boy also becomes aspirated into the imagination world.
I think this means that Tezuka thought that he doesn't have to be clicked in by everyone, and would rather do his own things that he wants to do.

It might just be a few minutes movie, but thinking about his backwards, it's a really impressing one.

An Analysis on Osamu Tezuka's "Mermaid"

The premise of this short animation is that the protagonist, a young boy, finds a fish and tries to convince his family that it is a mermaid. However, the state that the boy lives in happens to be against free thought and hands down severe punishments against those who don't comply to the system, a theme reminiscent of Orwell's "1984". Scenes depicting torture and brainwashing follow. Then, at one point we see the protagonist, in a last attempt, studying in order to convince himself that the mermaid shouldn't exist - now a struggle between his logical side and his imagination.

His logical side prevails for a while and his "mermaid" turns into a normal fish. Yet, in a sudden twist, he escapes the totalitarian state with his fish and wades into the sea. Taken literally, it could be seen as suicide, while metaphorically, the act could be seen most familiarly as a bid for freedom. However, I think it's best to take the time the animation was made, the 1960's, into context.

In Japan, the 1960's was a time of extreme societal growth and education was not excluded from that. As having an education became a more attractive idea to the populace, Tezuka must have realized the danger of not being able to stand out in public institutions, as in free thought and creativity.

chaos of moving!

Hello, everyone!
I really enjoy reading everyone's thoughts about the animation NIngyo.
Its interesting to compare them with my own and see the differences and similarities.

Well, the third week is about to begin! The IE classes are giving out lots of homework, and I hope I can keep up.
My family and I have just finished moving in my grandmother's house. Actually, we have been, for around 3 days, but my older sister's friend was visiting from the States, so we have been unable to unpack or clean up. This morning, my sister's friend left for the States, so my family and I have been moving around the furniture and cleaning things up as best as we could. Finally, after two days of not being able to see the floor, I can move around my room without having to jump over mounds of cardboard boxes. Of course, some of the furniture are still out of place and there are still many things we have to unpack. However, I finally feel like we've "moved in." This is going to be my new home.
Oh no, my nose is stuffed from the house dust flying around...

My analysis on the mermaid video

Personally, I thought the video had to do with the censorship of free speech and beliefs.

Considering the fact that this video was made in 1964, (which is when the memories of WW2 and the censorship of Japanese media with patriotic propaganda during WW2 was still fresh in people's minds) I believe that Tezuka's aim was to try to show people that what he illustrated in the short animation was what happened in Japan during WW2.

By the way, this short animation reminded me of a music video by A-ha, a Norwegian band from the 80's. Please take a look, I guarantee it will remind you of Tezuka's animation. (The quality sucks so please watch the better version on the actual YouTube website)

about the mermaid

I think the main character is the boy, and he wanted to share to everyone what he saw and brought from the ocean, which is the mermaid. However, everybody except the boy couldn't see the mermaid. To them, it was just an ordinary fish. Everyone thought it was just his imagination, and that was the problem, because his country didn't allow people to imagine. He just wanted everyone to know about the mermaid, but he couldn't make himself understood. He was put in a jail and was made to forget about the mermaid. At the end, he forgot about the mermaid, and released the fish, but then, the fish turned into a mermaid again and the boy went into the ocean with the mermaid to get freedom. I think Tezuka wanted to tell us that imagination is not a bad thing, and everyone can imagine what they want unless it wouldn't do harm to other people.

Weekend

Today I went to Starbucks where my friend works. It has only been a week since I last ment her but it was great seeing her again today. It felt strange looking at your friend working and especially having her take your order. At Starbucks I tried out the new yogurt flavor which tasted good.
After a few hours she finished her work and came to see me. After, we talked together at a cafe and it was a lot of fun talking and listening to each other's new environment. (:

Nice to meet you!

Hello, fellow classmates of my IE 3 class.

My name is Kent Aihara, otherwise known as Bryan. I like to be referred to as Bryan, so please call me by my English name.

I'm sorry I took a while to write anything on this blog; I'd been pretty much unaware of its existence until the last IE core class, and after that I was pretty much engaged with other things until now.

A quick introduction to myself:

I was born in the United States, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

I've been moving between Japan and the U.S. back and forth, living in each place for about 3 to 5 years before going back to said country.

I've experienced too much during all my years of living, (although I'm still young) to be able to write and share a lot of myself with you guys, so I guess I will talk about something that is more recent and fresh in my memory.

Yesterday, I attended the freshmen recruiting/welcoming session for our university's gliding club. I have always been interested in aircraft and flying, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity for myself to get involved in something different than what I did in high school.

The flying experience itself was a marvelous one. After entering the cockpit, the instructor familiarized me with the controls of the glider. There are three main controls which are essential to flying these: the rudder, the elevator, the ailerons, and the air brakes.

The take-off itself is done with the help of the winch, which flings the glider off to the sky at a speed of around 120 km to 130 km. Then the instructor told me to familiarize myself with the actual controls in-flight. I stepped on the rudder pedals, and shifted the control stick back-and-forth, but other than that I did not do much.

After safely landing on the aerodrome, I exited the aircraft and tried to deal with the motion sickness. (I really shouldn't have eaten 4 rice balls before taking off) Anyway, the itself was a splendid one, and even though the monthly fee is a tad bit expensive, I really look forward to joining the glider club.

Here are some pictures from yesterday's flight:

weekend with my sister

Hi everyone! How was your weekend? I had a great weekend I live with my sister but we have different schedules. The most time we spend together is on the weekends. Recently we look back and talk about our childhood. One enjoyable conversation we had was about a movie we used to watch. Its called "bed time stories" with Adam Sandler. Some of you may know it. There's this one scene where Adam Sandler is looking in the car shop window at a cherry red Ferrari. In his imagination he meets a man that gives him a Ferrari for free.Coincidently he meets the same man from his imagination in real life. He asks the man, "Are you gonna give me a cherry red Ferrari for freeeeeee?" And the man replies, " That's sounds good to meeeee" . It's  probably hard to understand what I mean by just words so if you have the chance check out the movie! It's so foolish but has a sweet story. Well that's all lol . See you all Monday! Bye!

What I thought about Mermaid

The main character of this story is the boy.
He wanted people around him to know about happy time with mermaid, but they had abandoned their ability of imagination because of the national power, so they didn't believe what he said.
National power tried to deprive him of his ability of imagination, and he barely lost it, but finally, he could meet mermaid again.
I think that Tezuka Osamu wanted to assert that everyone has a right to imagine as she or he likes.

Friday

Hi. This is Yuki.

I met my one of my High school friend on Friday.
We went shopping at Shibuya109 and had dinner together.
There were a lot of topics to talk, mostly about our University life.
I made a lot of new friends in University, but taking good care of my old friends are important too.
Anyway, we had a really great time! I want to meet her soon again.

Now I need to do my IE writing homework…

Thanks for reading :)

about the mermaid

I thought that the main character is the boy who had a fantastic imaginary power.
He was judged as a mental disease who cannot think normaly, and was isolated from the world. The problem was that his imagination wasn’t accepted as a personality.

At the end, he thought that the world was too difficult to live, and chose to die with his beautiful imaginations.

I think Tezuka wanted to tell us to accept others personality. Imagination which does not hurt one shouldn’t be prohibited. Recognizing others personality makes a good human relations.

My thoughts on the mermaid movie

In my opinion the message being portrayed in the mermaid movie is the power of the mind. The main character, the boy, imagined a fish he found in the ocean as a mermaid. In his town imagination was not tolerated. However  no matter how hard the officials tried to change him he couldn't forget about the mermaid. I think this shows how if you believe in something so much it doesn't matter what people say. About the ending though I'm still trying to interpret it. I'm not quite sure what it means yet but it's interesting to read everyone's interpretation of it.           By Reina

Watching the mermaid movie.

In this movie, the main characters are boy and the mermaid. The boy is a boy who likes to imagine and he lives in a country where imagination is not allowed. And the mermaid is a mermaid who is girly and pretty and turns into fish when someone who is not the boy sees her, because she can only be seen as a mermaid from a person who has an imagination.

And because the boy lives in a country where imagination is not allowed, when he was found out to be having an imagination, he is forced not to imagine things.

At the end after the boy was has no more imagination, he could only see the mermaid as a little fish swimming in a fish tank. However, after the boy put her into the sea, the boy could see her as a mermaid again swimming happily in the ocean.

I honestly thought it was a little sad of how people are forced of their feelings and thoughts in this country, but at the same time, it's also happy how the mermaid was happier in the ocean.

Just blogging...:)

I was watching the Mermaid video again on Youtube but I didn't finish my interpretation on it. All I can say is that the more I watch it, the sadder I get. I need to organize my thoughts on it so I'll be probably posting it tomorrow . Oh! what I'm also going to do tomorrow is having Kimuchi-Nabe with Madoka ( she is also from IE3). I love spicy food though I get sometimes stomachache from it.
Thinking about delicious food at this time is fatal....I should drink some water and get some sleep.

Good night everyone!
