Stanley Pickle

Summary

A boy who can make dead creatures into a machine, finds a girl who is sad about the death of her bird. She burries the bird near the boy’s house, and he turns the bird into a machine. The girl creeps out by his action. The boy then realizes that he was wrong and burries his parents who were also machines.

Evaluation

I think this movie has two messages in it. The first message is the importance of life. The boy had dead parents who took care of him, as long as he turned the screw to make it work. He felt sad when he realized that his parents were not actually alive, but they were just moving as the boy wanted it to be. You can’t take it for granted that everyone who you trust, and does things for you, is there for you and supports you. When you lose them, you usually can’t to anything. The second message is that it is important to not let everything in life be controlled by a machine. The recent improvement of technology has led us to live easier, but without decision making with emotion. In the story, the girl freaks out by the boy who gave her the bird that has turned into a machine. Of course, it is normal she felt that way, but the boy got so used to the way he lived, he didn’t realize that the technology is almost ruining his life and also turning him into a human machine. The machines don’t have emotions(at least not now), so it is important that you think about what you do, and make the right decision in life.
