Shinkousai

Yesterday during free time in 4th period, I was in Itabashi to see Shinkousai(神幸祭).
Shinkousai is a part of Sannousai(山王祭), which is one of the three biggest festivals in Japan.

Many people dreessed as in Edo period walked in queue for 300m in Tokyo. This festival has been held since the 3rd Edo Shogun, Iemitsu Tokugawa's time.

Despite the very hot weather, many people stood and waited for their coming. After a while, we heard sounds of Suzu and Taiko (Japanese instruments). As they approached, the sound became louder. When they came in front of us, I could see many decorations and dresses and their traditional dances! I watched them only for several minutes, but it was such a good experience and breathtaking time.
