"Practice what you must, but play what you love"

Hello.

Recently, I was watching videos which my favorite guitarist (I'm big fan of him)teaches guitar, and I really liked what he said. So this time I want to share this with you. What he said is "Practice what you must, but play what you love." I think almost any instruments, not just the guitar, involves dull basic practice for better playing. Of course he said it's important to learn them but at the same time you need to play what you love. If you like Blues, play your heart out. If you like Jazz, same. The most important thing he wants to point out is about balance between them. Without basic trainings, you won't be able to play music technically. But if you concentrate on techniques too much, it doesn't make you a good musician, ending up in just playing techniques. After all, expressing your music fluently by one's instrument is last goal for all musicians.
I got to practice and play...!
