Hello.
Are you guys having a good time.
I hope you are.
Today I would like to be answering the questions about the transgender video
we watched in class.
Q1 What is Crystal's job and what company does she work for?
She works as a manager for a French cosmetic company called L'occitane.
Q2 What are some other interesting things about her?
Her mother is a professor, and her father is a doctor who went to the Vietnam war
and returned. As for Crystal herself, she doesn't drink or smoke and is a vegetarian.
Q3 What was the negative thing that happened to Crystal?
On June 22, 2007 she went to a night club with her friend. The club asked her for identification
in order to verify that she was over eighteen. She showed her passport and was told that
transgenders were not allowed in the club.
Q4 What was the change in the constitution?
As a result of what happened to Crystal, transgender and gay rights are now specified
in the constitution.
Q5 Is it possible for Japan to have that kind of change?
To be honest I don't know what is written in the Japanese constitution about
transgender people, but if there isn't a specification about those people it seems
that it is necessary to have it. And I believe that if some people stand up it is possible
to make a change.
Recently, there was a coup in Thailand and the military has seized power.
It seems like they intend to enact political political reforms to end the turmoil.
