cross cultural

About the article which talks about the topless women in Maine, I think the law in its state is an unique way to show equal right between genders but I disagree to what they are protesting.
I was very surprised that the law in Maine had already allowed women to be topless in public. I thought the US is a strict country about these problems. Even the famous Japanese animation called "Crayon Shin-Chan" was broadcasted late at night in the US hiding his private zone with mosaic. I'm sure that there must be people who do not want to see naked people. So it is not a right thing to encourage others, who do not want to, to go topless in public. And, there are people who take photos of them so the society has to be aware of being used illegally. So I disagree for women in Maine to have a march of protest.
I agree to Hikari, that this would never be acceptable in Japan.
