Hi, I went to Hitotubashi University yesterday to participate in the practice game of debate.
I want to talk about it.
In this day, I did three rounds. In one of the games, there was a difficult issue I debated. The mortion for this round was that "All animal experimentation should be ban".
I write the brief summary of each side: Proposition and Opposition.
Proposition: should ban
1.We could have already know about the chemical through long history.
2.We can have alternative wayof experimentation like genetic enginereeing, artificial organs, and
computer simulation.
3. Animal right is to some extent recognized and secured.
Ex : Human have been saving endangerd species.
: People are punished if they bully or abuse animals.
According to these three reasons, there is no necesssity of animal experimentation.
That is why, animal experimantation should be ban.
Opposition: should not ban
1.Animal experimentation is easy way to test the drug without harm for human being.
2.We can never gurantee the change of drug or virus in the current situation, so test is needed.
Ex: influenze,
3.We can know the entire effect of drug through animal experimentation.
Ex: If you test the drug for an artificial organ, you can know the effect for an organ, but cannot
know the effect for other organs. However, if you test it for animals like rabbit, you can
know how this drug influence the body or can watch entire, whole effect of drug.
According to these three reasons, it is still necessary.
I agree with opposition side because of third reasoning. At the same time, I think combining both way is better.
