I am still wondering what to write about on the "tribe" assignment, so first of all I am going to write about my french friend Jordy, who is going to get married this October to his Japanese girlfriend. I met Jordy at a Japanese language school, where I was learning how to teach Japanese to foreigners. He came over to Japan to study about Buddhism and Shintoism. The funny thing is, he told me, that he was surprised to find out that not many Japanese knew about Buddhism and Shintoism, and the difference between them. Anyway, He wanted to get married at Meiji Jingu, and his girlfriend wanted to get married at a chapel because it was her dream to wear a western wedding dress since she was little. Ironic, isn't it?
Well, I would like to ask you something.
If you are going to get married in Japan, which do you prefer, a Japanese wedding or a western wedding?
I personally don't mind either, because I have both Japanese and western blood in me,and have nothing against Japanese people having a western wedding too. I heard Japanese wedding is in fashion now because a celebrity called Sawajiri Erika got married at Meiji Jingu recently.
Please let me know what you think.
