Book Report

Good evening!!:)

I've chosen "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks and I'm reading and almost finished with it.
It is a kind of romance story, but I think the description of main character is similar with us, especially a scene a women bothered between two men. It is big decision for her life. If I were in her position, I also could not choose one.

It became also movie, so I 'd like to see it.

Thank you for reading.
See you toworrow!!

Japanese Idol♪

Do you know AKB48?
It is a popular idol group in Japan.
AKB is the abbreviated name for Akihabara.
Recently, I heard the news that the selection in AKB took place.
The members of AKB48 are ranked by the populatity vote and only 21 high-ranking people can sing in next CD.
It is a system that people who bought the new CD can vote.
I was surprised to hear the news. It's severe! Besides, as another surprising thing, many AKB-Wotaku invest much money in AKB to vote the favorite girl.
I think AKB48 will be more popular by the election.

Japan vs England

Yesterday, the national soccer team of Japan played agaimst the England national team.
There are many famous players in the England national team so I was very excited how the game will be.
Tulio had given Japan a seventh-minute lead.
But Japan gave a Penalty Kick to England in the 55th minute.
The kicker was Frank Lampard, but Kawashima stopped this PK.
I thought Japan might win.
But they got scored 2 goals, and it was owngoals.
It was a pretty nice game, but they had to win.
I hope they play good in the World Cup.

0531.2

Now I would like to write about the video that I saw in last class, which described about trans-gender. The main character is Crystal who was born in Thailand as a boy and now is woman. She suffered from sexual problem, and succeeded in building the right of trans-gender.
The problem was caused by her ID card. When she entered a hotel nearby a night club, she was refused to check in by reception. It is written not "Ms." but "Mr." that is the reason.
Therefore, she fighted to build the right of trans-gender using mass-media. There was so many people to support her that she could accomplish it.

The problem of sex is also serious for Japan, and I want our government to admit their existence in piblic.

About 「Tokyo Homeless」

Today I would like to write about a short movie that we saw in the class last week.
It was about homeless people living in Japan.
We have a image that homeless people have hardships to live, but the main character of this movie isn't having troubles to live.
On the contrary, he is enjoying homeless life.
These days, homeless people enjoy being a homeless.

0531.1

Hi! How is going on? I must write on this blog twice a week, but this week I forgot writing! So I will write another article later, maybe by 12 A.M.
Last weekend, I joined in the Aogaku newspaper club. I want to work at publish company in the future, so that I would like to do. The work of it may be very hard for me, but I want to try.
Since my idea for being a journalist is very complex and long, I will explain next time, after tomorrow.

Then, see you later!!

My book report

The book report I'm doing is entitled "the Catcher in the Rye" which was written by J. D. Salinger so long ago as right in the middle of the 20th century (but it's still famous and popular with all the adolescents). Well, I have read the one translated into Japanese some years ago. It was interesting because in the story, the protagonist hurls at everything he thinks is terrible; the reality world which only foul and evil adults can occupy and control. I feel this style of written stuff is exactly the way American literature should be, and the reason why I like American novels. Honestly, I don't want to say that the person who killed John Lennon had this book in his hand just when and where he committed the murder. But it may mean that this work has such big influence.

The study of bookkeeping

I started the learning of bookkeeping from last week. When my friend mother who works as a translator came to meet my mother, I had a chance to talk with her by chance and she advised me to get some qualification such as bookkeeping while I'm at university. She explained that the students majoring language should acquire much information in the special field. Bookkeeping examination starts with third degree which requires the calculation ability corresponded with high school and you can get the right to take an examination of the certified public accountant and the gyouseishosi after passing first degree examination. I aim to get throw third degree examination within this year. If someone familiar with the bookkeeping, let me know!

Homeless poeple

There are about three hundreds homeless people in Tokyo. The number has increased has increased since around 1990 becuse of the nationwide depression. Though we tend to regard homeless people as poor persons in the view of the lack of money and serious situations, I think, what most important thing is how to enjoy our own life. So we should not write down happiness from only the circumstances or status. But some homeless people thrust into the present situation against their will because of the dismissal or reduction in employment. Moreover recently a lot of accidents abouts homeless people happened frequently. In 2002, Japan government introduced a low to support the their independence, but the situation has not neccessarily improved. So in my opinion, the goverment should make concrete measures to help them cooperating with the local autonamy.

"Nomiho" system is Japanese unique culture?

I talked with my friend who attends Aoyama Gakuin Univirsity as an exchange student yesterday. She is from America. She speaks Japanese well. And everytime she tells me a lot of things. This time, I learned that there is not "Nomiho" system in America. Nomiho system is very popular in Japan. It becomes shortened the word "Nomihoudai". I thought it is common system, but in America it's not common. For Americans "Nomiho" system is awesome. We can drink as I want at a regular rate. So, I thought "Nomiho" system is one of the Japanese unique culture.

Animal experimentation should be ban or not

Hi, I went to Hitotubashi University yesterday to participate in the practice game of debate.
I want to talk about it.

In this day, I did three rounds. In one of the games, there was a difficult issue I debated. The mortion for this round was that "All animal experimentation should be ban".
I write the brief summary of each side: Proposition and Opposition.

Proposition: should ban
1.We could have already know about the chemical through long history.
2.We can have alternative wayof experimentation like genetic enginereeing, artificial organs, and
computer simulation.
3. Animal right is to some extent recognized and secured.
Ex : Human have been saving endangerd species.
: People are punished if they bully or abuse animals.

According to these three reasons, there is no necesssity of animal experimentation.
That is why, animal experimantation should be ban.

Opposition: should not ban
1.Animal experimentation is easy way to test the drug without harm for human being.
2.We can never gurantee the change of drug or virus in the current situation, so test is needed.
Ex: influenze,
3.We can know the entire effect of drug through animal experimentation.
Ex: If you test the drug for an artificial organ, you can know the effect for an organ, but cannot
know the effect for other organs. However, if you test it for animals like rabbit, you can
know how this drug influence the body or can watch entire, whole effect of drug.

According to these three reasons, it is still necessary.

I agree with opposition side because of third reasoning. At the same time, I think combining both way is better.

What do you think about this issue?? It is one of the current topic in the world.

The exhibition of Pompei

I went to watch the exhibition of Pompei in Yokohama Museum of Art.
Mount Vesuvius which was located in the southern part of Italy erupted
in August 24, 79. Pompei was buried under the volcanic ashes and
lied beneath ground for 1700 years. About the middle of 18 century,
people started to excavate the ruins. Pompei was known as a miraculous city,
because it told us people in Pompei's lifestyles, such as artifacts from
an excavation, wall paintings, sculptures, industrial art objects and daily
necessities while the Roman Empire was in its heyday.

I really enjoyed watching this exhibition. In addition, I was very surprised
at seeing that, because People who lived in Pompei about 2000 years ago
made many things which was delicate, perfect and fine!
I guess the technique was the same as it was today.
Watching the short movie, I knew that there were many transgender person in Thailand for the first time.
However there are some transgender people in Japan too and it's not bad to translate their own gender, I think.
So the government should change the constitution to support right for transgender people and gay people. I hope them to live happily and freely.

Cross Culture

We, number 2 member, have watched the video about sexual problem.
In Tailand, there is a woman who called Crystal. She was born as a boy,
however, she has a girl's mind. Do you know Ai Haruna? Crystal is samething
like her. One day, Crystal went to the night party. She had to show her ID card
to enter over there. It was happened. The ID card showed a profile when she was
a man, and then, guards denied to her to enter in the club.
This constitution gets her angry. To change this rule, she sued to the country.
By her action and helping by her friends, the constitution was changed finally.

Otaku\(^•^)/

We have watched an short movie, explaining the definitions of Otaku culture. It was very interesting to see the otaku culture from the English point of view.
Well, I would just like to explain my own definition of Otaku. The word "Otaku" is a people who are into something, and it could be anything.
Anime Otaku is probably an well known Otaku to everyone, but these days , "Reki Ota"(Japanese History Otaku), "Johni Ota"(Johnnys? Otaku)and other Otaku are maybe the hot Otaku now. To conclude, there are many kinds of Otaku, and even we could make a new Otaku word!

About cross-cultural

I'll write about cross-cultural video about Thailand.

This video about trans-gender. A woman was born as a boy, but she had a emotion of a girl.
Therefore, she decided to trans-gender.
Now, she worked cosmetics company as a manager.

One day, she went to night club, and showed her ID card which was written in Mr.~, so she did not be allowed to enter the club. She was very hurt, and she was against these things. This happening became the topic of a conversation in Thailand through many media, and then, the manager of the night club apologized her and be moved his to a lower position.
It caused big problem, and she finally gave a government a opportunity to make a constitution for trans-gender of people.

Recently, there are some trans-gender entertainer on TV.
Most of all, they are normal. They have just different feeling in them despite their figure.
I think they are also given a right in order to live smoothly without a distinction.

Thank you for reading:)
See you next!!

book report

I'm going to write about the book I chose for my book report. The title of my book is Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne. It was published in France and translated into English in 1873. The story is about a British man Mr. Fogg had a bet against his club members. If he makes it around the world in 8o days, he will get money from them. He travels around the world with his loyal butler Passepartout. It has movie which was made in 2004. It seems to be made into an action movie since the butler is acted by Jackie Chan. I enjoyed watching it and it was very interesting to see the old structures of that time in every place in the world. I think I'm going to write a contrast of these in my book report.

Tokyo homeless town

I watched the video about homeless people.
In this video, a woman Sachi Taguchi interviewed Mr.Saito who is a homeless. Mr.Saito lives at a park in Shibuya. I had had a bad image for homeless people, but my image changed after I watched this video. That's because Mr.Saito enjoys his homeless life. For instance, he has many treasures he bought in the past such as the brand-name watch. He says he likes shopping in department stores. His way of speaking is very cheerful. In addition, I heard some homeless people return to homeless life even if they can get new jobs. Because they cannot stand high pressure from the companies. Like this, there are some homeless people who really like their lives. I think it is important to accept our conditions without complaining. We should enjoy even a bad happening. Mr.Saito taught me the important thing.
Thank you for reading!

Homeless people

These days there are many homeless people in Japan. In this video, a homeless, Mr. Saito was interviewed. He sets up the tent in a park and lives there. Surprisingly, he has some brand goods such as the watch of BVLGARI. He says that he likes shopping pleasantly. He seems to enjoy and satisfy with homeless life.

I was surprised to watch the video and my image of homeless changed! I’ve thought that homeless is dirty and apathetic. But Mr. Saito leads a life lively and positively. I learned that it is important to find some pleasure in our lives from Mr. Saito.

Book report

I'm reading "The Kite Runner" for book report.
The author was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and moved to the United States in 1980, so the life in Afghanistan is described vividly and the story is very beautiful. It's about unlikely friendship and fragile relationship between fathers and sons.
The book was made into a movie a few years ago, so I' going to watch it.

Bridget Jones Diary

Good morning, everyone. How's it going?
I've kind of caught a cold, and my throat is really sore, but overall, I'm pretty fine.lol
Anyways, today I'd like to talk about my book for my book report.
I've chosen Bridget Jones Diary, by Helen Fielding and I'm almost finished with it.
At first I thought it was a little erotic, but I'm starting to find out, this book is more than that.
It's more about women, and their social life, and feminism, and much more. So, it's really fun to read now that I've found out all these themes.
Anyways, I really need to finish my book and get started on my book report! Yikes!

Kanako>> Your father is so cool!lol. The latest technology already in your house? Wow, that's got to be real fun!! Is the iPad useful? What's it like:)?

anyways, thanks for reading.
I'll see some of you guys tommorow!

Track and Field

Good morning!
I wanna talk about the athelete tornament that I took part in. Before I said that I belong to a track and field club, so it was a track and field athelete tornament. It was rain the day, but the meeting of track and field doesn't postpone because of rain. So I ran 1500. I hadn't taken part in athelete tornament fo a long time so I was very nervous before my race. Although I was very tired, I could enjoy my race. I wanna take part in more races from now and on!

Cross Country

Good morning!

I'll explain the video that we wached at IE class. The story is in Thailand. There is a woman whose name is Crystal. She was born as boy although her heart is completly girl. She was grown up to be adult, she works at very famous cosmetic campany. One day, she went to a night party and then her ID card showed not Ms. Crystal, but "Mr." Crystal. So she was so shocked that she found organization to change constitution for transsexualism. She is very intelligent and works well so the constitution could be cahnged.

topless woman

In Maine, a crowd of people walking outside topless; not boys but girls! How surprising. On a hot day like the summer, men can take off their shirts and feel more comfortable but women can't. Then ladies suggested that there be equality between the male and female. Girls started to wear nothing! Well, I suppose this is a sort of "feminism" or something. Not that women want others to see them naked but that it's the appeal to everyone we must be all fair to choose the measures against the temperature they feel unpleasant. Personally, I don't like this situation if it ever happens in Japan. But if it does, it's may be the sign that there is a big discrimination between men and women, I guess.

Cloudy Sky

It's cold today! But I like cloud sky. Of course, I like sunny day, too. I hate the rainy season because it's so humid and make me unpleassant. I'm looking forward to being summer.

Now I'm reading the book for my book report.
The title is "Coraline." This story is little scary, but it's interesting to read.
The book became a movie, so I want to see it. But I don't have time.. Anyway, I have to finish reading this book as early as possible.

Tomorrow, I' m going to go Meiji Shrine to guide. I wish it's fine.
Have a nice weekend!

I'm sorry day in Australia

There is a "I'm sorry day" in Australia. Australian government
apology for aborigines by saying "I'm sorry" and giving money
to the aborigines as compensation. Why is there I'm sorry day in
Australia? Why do Australian government apology? The reason
is very heavy history.

Aboriginies lived peacefully by hunting and gathering in Australia.
but the population of aborigines decreased by invating European
army, because they injured aborigines cruelly. So aborigines were
killed by them or run away another country.

Aboriginies who were deeply hurt became use drugs, because there
were no hope and education.

Some aborigines are satisfied with Australian government action, but
other aborigines aren't satisfied, because their injury are serious.

I think Australian government should accept the responsibility and take
care of aborigines. But aborigines' injury are very deep, so it will take
many times. I think time heals all wounds like time is the best medicine.

ipad

hi this is my second time posting today!lol
Yesterday, after coming back from school at around 8, something felt different in my house. Nobody even my dogs welcomed me though I came back home. Then I realized there was some big boxes at the entrance that I had never seen. Ha, my dad got a new computer software again, I thought ('cause my dad is computer geek! lol). And yes, my intuition was kind of right. My dad got a IPAD! (everybody was plying with our new toy in living room)
Now, my family owns 5 computers...haha what a nice 21st century...lol

Chinese

I'm studying chinese because there is a test on next monday.
It is difficult for me to pronounce it, for there are four sounds per one character.
I'm confusing to remenber them...
However I think to study other languages is important and gratitude.
Thanks to study it, we can also know their culture and feature!
I would like to study many languages as much as possible in my life.

topless!

When we read about the article last week that women in Maine is trying to break the law of being topless, I was SHOCKED!! I had never thought about those kind of things, and I don't think it's necessary. What's the point of us being half naked in the street anyways?? As for me, I don't think anybody should be half naked outside the street. But if they wanna walk out like that, then go ahead and do so. Everybody would just feel they are weird. I don't think this problem isn't about the law, but how people thinks about it.

Lord of the Flies

Hello everyone, how’s it going??
I’d like to talk a bit about the book I've chosen for my book report. It's called Lord of the Flies and the author is William Golding. I haven’t finished reading it yet… I better focus and work hard!
The story is about school boys left in an isolated island with no adults. First, it gave me an impression of the book I have read ages ago in Japanese, the jyugo-shounen-hyouryuki. Has everyone read this once in their lifetime? Apparently the original version of it is called Deux Ans de Vacances in French. Just to mention, this is also a book where children are left in an isolated island. However, doing my beginning research on Wikipedia, I figured out that Lord of the Flies has a disastrous result where the children lose trust in between them.
What would you do if you were left in an isolated island??

Sorry Day

Do you know the Aborigini who belongs to the race of people who have lived in Australia? They had suffered discrimination from people who came from Europe to Australia in the past. They had drank much alcohol and abused drug because they were hopeless, no knowlege and discrimination.
However Australian government apologized to Aborigini for discriminate, and they give money for Aborigini in 2006. This was called apology day or sorry day. Every Aboligini listen their apology with tear in their eyes. Most of Aboligini are happy but some of them don't satisfied because it was not enough.
Every country have bad points. It is important how the government act for them. Not only say sorry but also do something is essential for peace.

Tokyo Tower

I went to the Tokyo Tower last week! I got off a train at Akabanebashi
station of metropolitan subway, it took five minutes to walk to the Tokyo
Tower. There were two observatory, main observatory and special observatory,
and I went to main observatory whose height was about 150 meters.
There was the window provides an impressive view looking down from a
height of 145meters. I really enjoyed watching nice view! First picture was
called as "Diamond Veil" which was a special day only light veil. New light
up performs in the Tokyo night. On special days the Tokyo Tower glistens
like it was covered in a diamond veil.

Otaku Culture

Good afternoon! I'll explain words, "Otaku", "Moe", "Tsundere", "Burrikko".

First of all, otaku is people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, and video games.

Second, moe is word thai is used when you feel love to cute girl, for example maid, charactor of anime.

Third, Tsundere is pople who are very bad-tempered women inin public, but she makes up to only her boy friend or someone she loves.

Finally, burikko is people who pretend to a scatterbrain or cite girl to make herself look as cute as possible.

topless women

In marine, topless women march to insist that women are equal to men.
I am shocked when i see this article.
If they do the same thing in japan, they are arrested undoubtedly.
In my opinion, they should think others. Some people see nude women and feel unpleasant.
Insisting on equality between women and men is good. But, they should think the way they insist.

homeless people

These days, I often see homeless people sleeping on the street or in the station.
I feel sad when I see homeless people and I want to help them.
but , I watch this movie and I am shocked. A homeless is willing to be homeless.
He is free from many problem and very lively. I thought being homeless is very hard.
but, I see the way he lives and my idea about homeless change.

topless

I was really shocked to see the article we saw last week, about girls in Maine, protesting to go topless. I didn't even know that it was legal for women to go topless, but come to think about it, there are nude beaches. But I thought going topless in beaches and going topless on the streets is a totally different story. Even if the girls are okay with their selves going topless, the people seeing them might not get very pleasant at it. (Like the old lady in the photo on the article. lol) This is something we would never see in Japan, and if someone actually tried, it would be socially big problem.

homeless

Good morning everyone!
It's finally Friday, thank god.

Watching the movie about homeless, I thought that we were misunderstanding about the homeless culture. But I had heard that there are people who actually are in favor of being a homeless. From us, being homeless is like the last thing we want to do, but they are actually living happily being a homeless. They are free from the social and media world, so they are free to do anything or think about anything. I thought this was wonderful, because it is becoming hard for us to live withought the high-technology gadgets, especially for the young people like us.

14th post

I'm not in a good state of mind these days...
I'm exhausted and can't think well...

Topless

Today, I went to the fitness orientation with my friends so that we could join the gym club at Aogaku. The gym was unexpectedly clean, and had numbers of different work out machines. There were also TVs infront of each treadmill! We got so excited to use this facility! The best part of this gym, however, is the low cost. We only had to pay 1000 yen to get a one year pass. Summer is approaching so our goal is to tone our body and get ready for the beach season!

I was extremely surprised when I read the article about the women in Maine wanting the right to be topless in public. To me, that's just disturbing. I'd rather have the government to restrict both genders from becoming topless if I had to watch women walk around half naked. In general, I personally think that people are too sensetive about gender equality. It's not like somebody is saying that men are better than women or vise versa. Women now days can work if they desire to unlike in the past. Men and women are treated equally as far as I know, and nobody should feel like there are some kind of boundaries between the two genders.

Shocking......

Good evening !!

Today I saw the news on the internet, and I saw the so shocking news.

According to the news, in Indnesia, 2 year old baby do smoke!!!!Moreover, he smoke about 40 taboccos per a day!! Can you believe it!? Firstly I cannot do it, but on the youtube, his movie is broadcasted. His behavior of smoking is as very same as adult's one.

When I saw it, I could not stop laughing. However, it is not laughing thing...... In fact, Indnesia, the smoking by young peole is one of the serious social problems. There is huge necessity to stop it.

Through it, I wonder what I can do for the world...............

If you are interested in it, you research "Ardi Rizal" and then you can hit the website about it.

Topless woman in Maine

Good evening.

Lastweek, our class read an article which showed us about some topless woman in Maine, the U.S.. Iwas very shocked to know about it, because I had NEVER thought to be topless! I think it is not that strange to think "Man and woman should be equal." but I want these woman to have the dignity. Not only woman, but also man should have some more dignities.

Homeless culture

Hello! I want to write about the video we saw last week!
I never went to the park in Tokyo so I never have seen the homeless people living there. But I saw a news about the homeless people in Japan, so it wasn't surprised me too much. Also, I often seen homeless people in my home town, and my grandfather know some people living under the bridge of my home town.
What I thought about the film is that, we usually don't mind or care about the people that we don't even know. So, usually we misunderstand about the people. I thought that homeless people is a people that is people that abandon themselves to grief. But actually, the man in the film wasn't that kind of person. He was cute old guy, and very charming.
There are people that wants to live homeless even they have money, but I think they want to be free from everyday life. Maybe, I can't tell that I think I'm saying the right things.
Well, thank you for reading! Good night!

McDocald in the world!

I found the very interesting movie on You Tube. The movie tell us about the difference between Japanese McDonald and American McDonald in an ironical tone.
According to his explanation, American McDonald is dirty and the people who are not employed in any other workplaces work at McDonald.
On the other hand, Japanese McDonald is clean and crowded with young people.

I was surpeised to watch the movie. I didn't know that Japanese McDonald is completely different from American McDonald. I like McDonald and I often go there, so I was shocked to hear the condition of American McDonald. I hope that all McDonald around the world will be pleasant places.

If you have time, please check this video!

Homeless people in Japan

In Japan, we see homeless people in town. Some homeless people live alone. But many homeless people do group living. They are living with helping each other. In the interview, Mr. Saito who is a homeless man and does group living shows his treasures. All of his treasures are brand-named items. Because he loves fashion. He seems so happy and really enjoy his homeless life. In addition, he has his hobby. Until I saw this interview, I thought homeless people are spiritless and don't care about anything. However, it altered my perception of homeless people. Some homeless people feel happy and enjoy their lives even if they don't have any money to live. Mr. Saito lives his own way. His appearance is dirty, but I think his homeless life is cool.

Cross Culrure

I would like to write about the native austlarian people which I watched last class.

Before United Kingdom occupied the Oceania, native people who are called aborigine have freely lived in it. However, once she occupied, UK started to colonize it and send criminals to this island and at the same time, a lot of people went there to migrate from UK to it. Because of that, in Oceania, non-native people which are not aboriginie dramatically increased and as aresult, aboriginie became minority in this island. Moreover in 1869 to 1969, the policy that the gpvernment robbed parent of aboriginie baby in order to exterminate the existence of aboriginie. It means the violation of culture and language. Those children are called "Storen Genaration" or "Stolen Children". Because this action became one of the causality, the level and quality of abologinie's people's life became worse and there were drug problem or other social problem like killing. In 2008, government officially apologize to aboriginie people.

This is brief summary of the short movie.

Through it, I think most countries had shameful history and policy. Even Japan did similar action to Korea and China. However the difference of those countries is whether they apologize or not, and whether they compensate or not. In this sense, Austlaria Government is a little better than the other because she officially apologized and subcidized aboriginie people as a support.

After the class, I had interest on aboriginie and reseached it. More than I had expected, there were serious and severe history. I cannot write all of it there, so I want you to research it!

No more those shameful histories!

What is OTAKU culture??

Hello!!

I want to talk about Otaku, and related words.
Firstly, I think Otaku means someone who have extremly specific knowledg about some area. For example, Tetsudou Otaku means someone who knows the subway, trains, and so on well. Although we respect those people because of their special knowlege, some people disrespect them. Unfortunatelly, Otaku is not recognized preferable people.

Second, Moe is one of the feelings. When we see a cute or pretty thing, animal, or action by human, we feel our heart pounding fast, which is Moe feeling.

Thirdly, Tsundere is one of the attitude. Although Tsundere people act sadly and chilly toward a boy in front of the people, once there are only she and he, she becomes to fawn on him, which is Tsundere People's character.

Finally, I would like to talk about Burikko. It means the women who pretends to be pretty and cute. They often pretend to be weak and cute girl to get attention from others.

Otaku culture has been developing now!!!!

Homeless culture

Myself growing up in Europe, I had the image of homeless people – they were usually the unemployed, beggars that wondered around in town doing nothing. After seeing the short clip during class, I now realise that that was probably a stereotypical view against the homeless people. Everyone has there own personal issues and, every single homeless people probably have there own reasons why they live as a homeless.
I was surprised when I heard that even when the homeless people were given houses, jobs, money, still, they’d actually go back being a homeless after a while. Some homeless people even earn plenty of money enough to live a usual life, however they chose to be a homeless. Because I have never been a homeless before, and I don’t know anyone in my family, friends who are homeless, it is hard for me to imagine what sort of culture, everyday life they spend being a homeless.
However when I come to think, the opposite of a homeless, but a normal living – “what” is normal? Normal is probably not normal for everyone, and it could be a pain for some people to spend your life living as a normal person. Not living in a house is normal for homeless people. Even though you’re living a normal life, if you feel empty inside, that means your not satisfied, your life is not filled with passion and enjoyment. Homeless people had their own hobbies and treat in life, just as we have our own leisure activity and things we like to do at our free time.
We should maybe spend more time to think about homeless culture.

Women in Maine

I was very surprised to know that some women in Maine were being top-less to show equality between women and men, but as everyone says, I think it isn't accepted in Japan
I think equality doesn't mean everyone should do the same thing. Women are different from men fundamentally.
It shouldn't be allowed to treat women unfairly when getting jobs and promotion, and if they are treated like that, they should claim it, but being top-less has nothing to do with equality. I think they misunderstand equality. People don't want to see top-less women walking streets, because it is embarrassing.

The Homeless People

Good morning.

I often go to Ikebuko, there are the great number of homeless people, and the West Gate Park is well-known. Waking around Ikebukuro, I found some homeless people were selling some magazines. The magazine is called "The Big Issue", and many homeless people publish and sell this magazine to earn living.
http://www.bigissue.jp/
What I thought after watching the film is that it is cool to live their own way even if they have much money. When I saw homeless people in some cities, I had thought "They are crazy." or "They are dirty."
But I found some homeless people are just "home-less" and other things are the same as us.
I'd like to buy "The Big Issue", and are you interested in this magazine?

cross cultural

About the article which talks about the topless women in Maine, I think the law in its state is an unique way to show equal right between genders but I disagree to what they are protesting.
I was very surprised that the law in Maine had already allowed women to be topless in public. I thought the US is a strict country about these problems. Even the famous Japanese animation called "Crayon Shin-Chan" was broadcasted late at night in the US hiding his private zone with mosaic. I'm sure that there must be people who do not want to see naked people. So it is not a right thing to encourage others, who do not want to, to go topless in public. And, there are people who take photos of them so the society has to be aware of being used illegally. So I disagree for women in Maine to have a march of protest.
I agree to Hikari, that this would never be acceptable in Japan.

Being homeless

When I lived in New York, I often saw homeless people on the streets in Manhattan. We'd donate canned soup, and cookies to them for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The looked empty, like they didn't choose to live this kind of life. And that's what I thought homelesses are.

I was suprised to find out that some homeless people in Japan wanted to be homeless. And also, their homes seem quite cozy. Using blue sheets as their home, keeping their favorite books, or magazines, some people even have TV's in their so called "houses." I saw a documentary about homeless people in Shibuya once, and they interviewed a man who gets 80 thousand yen a month from the government. 80 thousand yen is a big amount of money for a homeless, and he also agreed on that. He used this money for gambling and buys luxuries like watches and sunglasses with the profit he's made from the gamble.
This interview changed my impression on homeless people. It was also kind of sad to know that there are people who are struggling to live, with scraps of food from the garbage, and looking for money on the streets, under vending machines, but then, there are people who use money from the gvernment to live, and they say it's better than living with a job.

But you know, living in blue sheet tents is something only homeless in Japan do. Because I've never seen them in New York.

Closs Cluture

I'd like to talk about the articul which is Woman in Main blow their tops over shirtless inequality. Compared with Japanese cluture, it was unusual for America to taking off their shirts in the public. That's because Japan is famous for hot springs and Japanese have the time to show and see half-naked people. But even Japan if woman be half-naked in publish, it is so strange. Therefor in tha case of America it seemed that these women were quite crazy. I'm sure it was not necessarily good way, but as for these woman this was the only way to imprees their campain. They appearde the bravery. In the result mass media picked up them on news paper ,and we could read and knew this movement.
Good afternoon.
Recently I have no time to play with my friends or go shopping. I want to have more time:(

Today, I want to talk about the short movie about "Aborigine people in Australia."

In the past, Aborigine people lived in Australia. However white skin people came to Australia and took Aborigine people away. They were discriminated by white skin people. There were so many terrible dixcriminations. They're called "Stollen Generration."
Now, Australian Government is ahamed of thier past action. In 2008, they said "sorry" for Aborigine people. The day is called "Sorry Day."

This video said that they have to apologize, But not only apology, also they have to do something. For example, Government send them money to support them.

I was surprised at this video. It was terrible past! I can't believe that, but we have to learn it. People mustn't judge people by colors of skin. The problem, about native people like this, exist all country. Of course in Japan, too. We have to know these past, I think.

OTAKU!!

When I used to live abroad, I hated when people mentioned about “Otaku and Anime” culture about Japan. I've been living in a foreign country throughout my life, so like ten or more years ago it was ‘Play station and Nintendo is soooo cool!!’ However two years ago, my friend came up to me and said ‘Do you read Anime!!’ (At that time European people didn't have the correct knowledge towards Anime, and Anime usually meant adult comic books) I thought about my home country as a shame, just if I could be English!!
Now I've grown up, I respect there are different ways of life and there are hobbies and interests out there that I can hardly imagine about. Yes, as keiyu said, rather than having no interest, no hobby, nothing that can drive you in life, specializing in a certain field such as otaku culture is probably a good thing for them.
Although otaku - 2D and anime is seen weird (no offence) this is because it’s only a small percentage of the total population is “into” otaku. If the majority, over half the people in Japan had there hobby and interest in some sort of otaku culture, the minority, the non-otaku people are seen as the “weirdoes”. The balance between the majority and minority, the popular and the geek is in fact a non-controllable issue.
But let me tell you, I’d like to try going to a maid café! Anyone want to go with me? Thanks for reading!

The brave girls in Maine

Equal rights – does everyone believe men and women are treated equally, or is men allowed more power over women?? Although sex discrimination acts and all these complicated laws exist in the 21st century, there still seems to be some barrier between men and women.
When I first saw the article in class on Friday, I thought “what brave women these people are!!” But then I came to think, wait a minute, it is a good and “unique way” (to attract public attention) to appeal the equality between men and women, the method they have taken is in fact a bit childish.
As yuri has said, we have different sex, and therefore the physical feature differs. There is no point competing each other by the difference of our body make, the way we look, but to accept the difference and respect the other gender (men are physically stronger, women are the only ones who can give birth – and see this as a gifted way)
I think I've taken it a bit serious, let me talk a bit about the discussion we had over whether “If you had the chance to choose your sex” discussion at middle high-school. What I think about the great benefit is being a girl – they can call themselves by their name!! Say there’s a girl called Hanako, she can say ‘Hanako wa ichigo ga suki!!’ Sweet, (even better if she’s cute!!) isn't it. Then if there’s a boy called Taro, if he calls himself by his name ‘Taro wa ichigo ga suki!!’ ….that is kind of dodgy, I’d say yuck!!!
But anyway, it is an interesting fact to discus don’t you reckon??

Hi,

About the homeless people in Tokyo.
I was surprised that they choose to be homeless in the park even though they have enough money and jobs. My image of homeless is a person without house and money so the video changed my impression of them. But I still don't get why they prefer to live in the park..
Also, my friend in the US told me that her teacher pretended to be a homeless and stood at the corner of the street in San Francisco, begged people for money, and what he got in a day is more than what he earns as a teacher in a day.
I was amazed about these stories. I guess homeless people might have much more money than what we think.

Feminism and equality

Raining on and off, temperatures changing day to day, I'm getting tired of this climate change.
Anyways, I'd like to talk about the topless women marching for women's equality in Maine.

Like a lot of people have said, I don't really understand why women need to be topless. As a matter of fact, I think it's a bit insane. I understand that it's to show equality, but I mean, isn't there another way? I don't see a point in being topless. The viewers won't be really happy about this, most of them won't feel comfortable.

Maybe becoming topless is showing too much feminism...
One thing for sure, this will never be legal in Japan.lol.

Anyways, cross-cultral articles are fun to talk about.
It gives you different views of what people from different nationalities think about one thing.

Thanks for reading, and good night!
About the topless women in Maine.
As a lot of people have mentioned, I don't think it's a good thing too.
I can't understand their feelings at all. It's not about rights.
Actually, on my way home from school today, I saw a man that was standing with no shirt on. Even though it was a man, I still felt unpleasant.
I think it's people's duty to wear clothes on in public.
As jun said, it's a matter of common sense.

13th post

About that article we saw about topless women in Maine...I can't help wondering that "Can't they just wear thin clothes?" I think they are taking the problem in a very extreme manner that people around them can't keep up with them.
I think fighting rights for women is a good thing, but keeping common sense is more important.

Otaku is beautiful.

Today I would like to talk about four otaku slangs.
In the video, Moe was described as pink fuzzy feeling inside you. Tsundere as Icy hot. Burikko as a girl who act as if she is cute. And I think that's pretty correct. But I don't think Otaku is beautiful.

Japanese culture

I think Otaku is defined persons who love their favorite things and like to collect the goods. Most of them don't care about their looks and devote their hobby.

Moe can be defined a word that is used for very cute characters of magazines or animation.

Tsundere means icy-hot attitude.

Burikko means a woman who behaves as a cute woman.

Woman in Maine blow their tops over shirtless inequality

I am surprised at the article. Something like this doesn't happen in Japan, I think. Because most of Japanese aren't self- assertive at all. And Japanese are conscious, so even if we want to be treated as equals with men, we can't walk the city without tops. But I think women in Maine thought nothing could be done by just waiting. It is important, however they should do such action without causing people trouble.

this weekend

Hello, everyone.
I belong to lacross club in Aoyama Gakuin University. In this weekend, we are going to match in Fukusima prefecture. An opponent is Rikkyo and Hitotsubashi university. Both teams are strong, but our team condition is very good! My condition id so good too.
I'll do my best.

Cross-Culture

I want to talk about the article.
I think that men and women should be equal. It is strange to conclude that men should behave masculinely and women should behave femininely. It is the best that we behave like that we want to behave. Even so too equality is also a problem. Actually, I was surprised at the artcle. The action like women in the article seems to lack constancy.
I think that we shouldn’t only insist our women right, but also think about manner and moral. We should take the approproate action for us.

About the part-time job

hi, everyone!!
Do you do some part-time job??
Now, i wonder whether i should do some part-tome job or not.
i am really busy with my club activities, but it costs a lot, so I need to do some part-time job.
i am searching for the job which is not so hard but enjoynable.
Do you know such a job??
If someone knows that, please tell me!!

The Japanese culture

Hello, everyone.
I want to write about Japanese culture(Otaku, Moe, Tsundere and burikko).

Otaku is the person who likes anime, game and video. They usually exist in Akihabara. They also has so many knowledge in detail. In recent days, in Akihabara, AKB48 is very popular among Otaku. And, they dress costume. It is called "cosupure".

Moe is the important word for Otaku. Otaku loves anime characters. If Otaku see lovely things, they say "Moe".

Tundere is difficult to convey. Recently, in Akihabara, there is Tundere cafe. When we enter this cafe at first, clerk is angry, but when we came to leave this cafe, she is suddenly pure. It is mystery.

Burikko is the girl who likes herself. They want to be a cute, they play Burikko. I cannot understand...

About Otaku Culture

Otaku is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particular anime, manga and video games.

Moe is a Japanese slang word originally referring to a strong interest in a particular type or style
of character in video games, anime or manga.

Tsundere is a Japanese charcter development process which describes a person who is initially cold and even hostile towards another person before gradually showing their warm side over time.

Japanese Culture

I explain about the meaning of Otaku, moe, tsundere and burikko.
I explain them one by one.

Firstly, I explain about Otaku. Oaku is a person who like video,
game and especially anime and they have many knowledges about
them in detail than I had expected! Some Otaku can talk them all
day long. I like anime and I watch anime on YouTube, so I am Otaku!

Secondly, I explain about moe. Moe has a pink feeling toward person
who is a very pretty, lovely and cute.

Thirdly, I explain about tsundere. Sometimes girl is an cold and arrogant
behavior, but sometimes she is an gentle, kind, soft and coquettish
behavior.

Lastly, I explain about burikko. She behave pretty and look pretty, but
in point of fact she is not pretty.

Japanese culture is very interesting!

About the article

Today, I would like to write about an article that we did on class.
The article was about women in America held a demonstration that they should be allowed to go top-less in public.
I think it is free to do whatever they want and it wouldn't be an anooying act.
But I don't recommend to make such a law.
I think if women starts to be top-less in public, a sexual offense crimes will increase.
And I think this is unrealizable in Japan.

Homeless

I watched about homeless people in Japan. I didn't know that some people have choosed to live as homeless and homeless is one of lifestyles.
I have felt sorry for them at first. I used to go to Sendai to go to a cram school and I often came across a homeless man. He was always sitting on a bench, reading a tour guidebook...
It is true that many homeless people have no choice but to lead such life, but the man in the video probably tries to enjoy his life no matter how hard his situation is.

Soccer

The Japan versus Korea football game, Kirin Challenge Cup,

held at the Saitama Stadium today.

Japan team lost the game to the Korea team by a score of 2 to 0.

My friend went to the stadium to watch the game and send me

the photo! I watched the game on television at my house.
I really enjoyed watching the game!!!!!

If I have a chance, I want to watch the football game at stadium.

0524

Hi! everyone.
I would like to explain Otaku, Moe, Tsundere and Burikko today.

Firstly, I can see myself as Otaku because I like to read comics, play TV games, use my computer, and so on. Those who like these categories can be said Otaku, but I am slight Otaku.

Second, Moe is a kind of feeling that fluttering heart. A cute girl, especially small and tiny, is said Moe-Kei. Men who is said Otaku often fall in love with the girl. If the girl wears fake ear of cat or dog, Moe became more easily to be said.

Third, Tsundere is a type of girl. Girls said Tsundere is usually very cool and curt, however, they change greatly when they are with their lover.

Finally, Burikko is also a type of girl. Yet this word is different from above three word, for Burikko doesn't have good meaning. People often make a show of modesty can be said Burikko.

I want you to know more, but the time is over. I must do my media report from now.
In this connection, I have been said all four words by my friends★

About article

Today is so humid and rainy:(
I hope it will be fine tomorrow.

I'll write about the right of women.
Ithink women should be equal to men in their various rights.
Therefore, I agree to their claiming to rights men already had. However, there are some differences between women and men especially physical feature.
I think we also consider differences of nature between us, so I think the women demanded the right men be allowed to take off their tops in front of public is over action for this once.

See you next class:)

Japanese Otaku Culture

Too late to write this report; but let me explain my image of Otaku culture.

I think it is good for Japanese people to be Otaku; specializing in a certain field is better than knowing nothing or having no hobby. Maybe, people get something wrong; they assume Otaku people to be socially intolerant or hate in company with an ordinary person. It's, hey, not true.

In general, if someone devotes his or herself to studying or learning academically about the only subject, he or she must, for sure, go pale or lifeless: not organic. It's natural. For example, all of us must have experienced this kind of pain; to pass the entrance exams of Aogaku university, we (each alone) studied so hard at the desk that we stopped talking to friends or interrupted it saying "I'm sorry I gotta get back home, I got plenty of homework and have to find the time to get it all done". You see, when you approach something seriously, you never want anyone to bother you. It makes people a bit alone, but it's not always a bad thing.

This is the fundamental nature of Otaku culture, I guess.

Japanese Unique Words

Good evening you guys!

Today I'm going to explain some unique Japanese words such as Otaku, Moe, Tsundere and Burikko.

The first one is the word "Otaku". It means the person who addicts two dimensions like animation and comics. They often go to Akihabara, where a lot of people who wear clothes look-alike the characters in some animations. Sometimes they imitate its costumes and enjoy it so much.

The second one is "Moe". It is the feeling of being fascinated. It is often used by Otaku when they meet the girls wearing characters' costumes and think they are so cute. These days it have come to be used by not only Otaku but also a lot of people when they see lovely things.

The third word is "Tsundere". It means being not obedient and saying the word which is opposed to your feelings. For example, the man who says "I hate you" to the girl he loves is Tsundere.

The last one is "Burikko". It is the girl who fakes modesty, and speak with lovely voice to make men fall into love with her. They sometimes irritate other girls.

These words is born recently and its meaning is changing every day, so it is difficult to explain!

What is Otaku?

I want to talk about Japanese unique culture. "Otaku" is the one of it. I asked foreigne people about "Otaku". He said like, "I know Otaku!! Otaku is a man who loves manga!!". He said so confidently, but Otaku doesn't mean a man who loves comics. Originally, Otaku is a man who loses his head with something and familiar with something. So, a man who is familiar with the PC is called "PC otaku". However, we have typical otaku image without knowing it. The typical otaku image is a man who loves manga character and Akihabara. So, because of the image, many people mess up meaning of Otaku.
Secound, "Tsundere" is a word in the Otaku world. But now it isn't a word among otaku, everyone use it recently. I think "Tsundere" means treating someone cool sometimes and traeting someone sweet sometimes. some people like to be treated like "Tsundere". Maybe, I think this word came out from Otaku. Some manga characters have such characteristics, so Otaku call these character "Tsundere", I think.
Third, "Burriko" means sweet and innocent action. I think it is a clipped form of "Kawaikoburu- ko". Is it a word in the Otaku culture? I don't think so. It existed before Otaku culuture was born.
I'd like to explain the word " tsunndere".
Tsunndere is persons who do too strong icy reaction at specific times. Especially, we can use this word toward people who are bad-tempered in public but, when they are alone, they dally each other.
Next, I explain the word "burikko".
Burikko is persons who do very cute behavior at specific times. They try to entic persons who they like or feel kindly with her seductive charm. It's said they exchange their behavior whether persons who they like or feel kindly are there or not.

Japanese Culture

Good evening!
I want to explain Japanese culture.
“Otaku” is people who love cartoons and characters of them. They seem to go to Akihabara, enter a maid café and see shows of idols. And then sometimes, people who thoroughly pursue attractive things is said Otaku.
“Moe” is a word which is used when they saw pretty things. Especially it is used at the time which they saw pretty girls.
“Tundere” is used when a certain man become suddenly cold to hide his embarrassment. However the real feeling is opposite to the saying. It is used for both boys and girls.
Finally, “Burriko” is a girl who tries to show herself pretty to other people. She wants to be liked by boys, so changes her behaviors in the presence of boys.
As I write about Otaku culture, I feel again Japan is strange in comparison with other countries. However that its culture is familiar and popular in other countries is surprising.

yesterday........

I had the freshman discussion meeting!!
We, the sophomores were chairmmen, and the freshman were actively perticipated in this discussion. It was really hard for me to lead the freshman to get conclusion. But after finishing the discussion, they said to me, "I really enjoyed discussion today. Thank you!" I was really happy to hear that!!
I love discussion, so I'll keep practicing of it.

Cross-culture

I want to write about the article we read last week about women taking their tops off in Maine.
I was so surprised and shocked to see this article ,it's such an unexpected situation if it happened in Japan!
I really can't agree with this idea. I agree with Heidi Marshall who says that men shouldn't be half-naked in public either.I think wearing clothes in public is a moral. This is a really difficult gender problem.

Japanese unique cultures..

I'll explain about four interesting Japanese words: Otaku, Moe, Tsundere and Burikko.
Otaku means people who like something or someone too much. Especially those who like idols and animated cartoons. They are said to be in Akihabara.
Moe means the word of admiration. People say "Moe" when they see some cute things or people. People include animation characters in this case.
Tsundere means human's attitude. A person is sometimes very cold to others, but a person is sometimes very very kind. This attitude is called Tsundere.
Burikko means people who change the behavior especially in front of men. They act cutely on purpose because they want to be loved by men.

Like this, there are many interesting words in Japan. I seldom use these words, but I have heard these words many times recently.

movie

Good evening. The day before yesterday, I watched the foreign movie named Flight Plan on TV. This movie was so interesting! I couldn't imagine the climax of the story at all, so I could not miss the movie even a minute. I recommend everyone to watch this movie:) I haven't ever watched many foreign movies, but I'd like to watch more and more. Please tell me any recommened movie! Thank you for reading.

>Yuri
Thank you for comment. If you go to any concert, you will certainly be able to enjoy yourself!

The culture of France

I like France and I visited there on March.
I went to the Louvre Museum. It is one of the most famous museums.
I was surprised because it was bigger than I expected.
It is a really big building and it is divided into 3 parts; Aile Sully, Aile Denon and Aile Richelieu.
The main entrance is the pyramid of glasses.
At night it was illuminated, so it was very beautiful.
I heard that it takes a whole day to watch all works.
So, in the museum, I watched some masterpiece such as the Mona Lisa.
There were many people in front of the Mona Lisa, so I find it easily. Many people took pictures of it. I was moved to watch because I saw it only in the textbook of world history.
I couldn't watch only several popular works, so if I have a chance to go to France, I want to visit there again.

sick...

My fever's going up and down in those days. Seriousely, what in the world had happened to me...I rarely catch cold. Today I called my mom and told her about it. She said that it's a natsu-kaze(summer cold). Anyways, I think I'm getting better because my headache is almost gone and I only have mild soar throat. This means that I'm recovering, right?^^

Ok, now I would like to talk about the otaku culture.

A word "Otaku" means "mania" in English. There are many types of "otaku" but in the video, they disscused about the type who are crazy about the two dimensional world.

"Moe" is the pink fuzzy feeling(lol!) people get when they become overwelmed with fondness. This could be toward both 2D and 3D. I heard before that the word came from "moe" as burn, like emotionally burns up..lol.
"Tsundere" is when acting arrogant and saying harsh things in the beginning, than shows a little bit of honesty and weakness after. I believe "tsundere" is popular because it is psychologically proven that people feel the happiest when they are insulted a little at first then being praised after. Not for me though! By the way tsundere usually associate with Rie Kugimiya characters...
"Burikko" is a girl who cutifies herself too much by "too cute" fashion, the way of writing(?), changing the tone of voice, using immature-cute vocabularies, and so on. I don't mind burikko girls as long as they can stay on track. 18 years old Yukorin and Sayumi Michishige are the cute burikkos ^^

Tomorrow's school. Even though I'm feeling better, I really don't like riding train when my immune system is weakend. I wish that"dokodemo door" exists...

Japanese Culture #2

Good morning. Today, I have lots of homeworks. I'll do my best.

I want to explain about Japanese culture again.
Otaku say "moe" when they feel loveliness against girls especially in the 2nd dimension. So, "moe" means like "cute!" They say "moe" against not only girls' looks but also their action. Now, even people in foreign countries know this word.

"Tsundere" is the girls who usually hide their feelings. For example, these girls say "I'm not interested in you," but acutually, they want to meet you! They rarely say their real feeling. However otaku like "tsundere" because they say their feelings once in a while. "Once in a while" is cute.

"Burikko" is the girls who act cute. They do so because they want to get boys' heart. For example, they rise their voice tone and say something cute. There are two types of boys who like it and who don't like it.

Japanese culture is very interesting like this! Recently, meny people all over the world like Japanese culture. I want to introduce our culture when I guide foreign people.
See you next time!

What is Otaku?

I"ll write about Otaku, Moe, Tsundere, Burikko.
"Otaku" is people who love Japanese cartoons or characters enthusiastically. Some people deepen their interest increasingly, and they play a costume of character they love.
Recently, "Otaku culture" is so popular all over the world, and a lot of foreigners of otaku visit Akihabara. "Otaku culture" is so unique, therefore this culture is one of our main culture.
According to the video we saw, "Moe" means the pink feeling. When they see or feel a cute character or maid, they often say "Moe~!!" and this feeling is the pink feeling.
"Tsundere" means icy hot feeling for a girl to covers up her embarrassment. They say "kimoi" or "shine" toward a boyfriend, but they like the boyfriend so they just not to be honest.
"Burikko" is a girl who wants to be loved by boys, and changes their attitude only to boys. For instance, they try to pretend to be delicate girl. I think they are likely to be loved by boys, but also be hated by girls.

Interested Japanase Words!!!

I'll introduce four interested Japanese words.
Otaku means the people who love the idols, games, animations or magazins came from Akihabara originally.
However when the word "otaku" become famous, ordinary people also try to use this word.

Burikko almost indicates on girls. Especially it means the girl whose action, voice or appearance can be read the feeling that I want to be cute.
For example there is a girl who loves Arm Strong. When she talks with her friends loudly and rudely, he suddenly appeares and talks to her. She stops laughing loudly and changing her voice cutely with looking up him eyes. This is the typical example of "Burikko". This girl will be complained about "Burikko" from other friends.

Tsundere means the people is apt to be chilly although she or he loves. She means she likes you but she acts inconsiderately!

Moe is used when you see cute maid originally. They get to sence pink fuzzy warm feeling when you see a cute girl! People often say Moe; his honeyed words.

Otaku culutures have a big influence not only Japanese but also foreigner!

Otaku Culture

I’d like to explain about the words; Otaku, Moe, Tsundere and Burikko.
“Otaku” means the people who have great enthusiasm for cartoons, animations, costume play or maid. They often visit Akihabara to get the goods of the characters they love. In Akihabara, there are a lot of “Maid café”. They also go there to meet cute maids and enjoy talking.
“Moe” means the pink feeling people get when they see both real and unreal cute girls. For example, when they see the girls who wear the fully dresses called Maid-Fuku, they say Moe~. Besides, when they see the cute two-dimensional characters, they also use the word.
“Tsundere” means icy hot feeling. A girl says “Uzai!” or “Kimoi!” to cover her embarrassment. But, in fact, it is the sign that she likes the person. Mostly, these words are used to a specific person such as a boyfriend.
“Burikko” means the girls who try to act cute only in front of boys. For example, they change the tone of their voice. Some boys think Burikko is cute. However, to be honest, they are tricked! lol

About Homeless people

Good evening! I watched the short movie about homeless.
There are a lot of homeless people in Japan. The park near my house has been called "homeless kingdom" by our neighbor and my friends. I may think if you see this park, you will be surprised at the number of homeless people and convinced why this park is called. A lot of my neighbors dislike them and always keep away from them. Of course, I can't approach them recklessly. But I think they may never do harm us. They just try to survive desperately in spite of their misery.
However, Japanese people have too much bias about them. It's true they are very strange and dirty and sometimes crazy. But I won't forgive by curiosity, some people attack them and sometimes kill them. I can't understand why they can do so. I haven't lived in abroad so I can't imagine foreign homeless people.
But I think Japanese people should have consideration toward them.
They are human being as same as everyone.

About Maine's idea

Hi! I'm little tired now. I don't know why but I wish I could sleep all day.
Anyway, Yesterday, I read the article about "Women in Maine blow their tops over shirtless inequality" in my class. When I saw this article, I was very surprised and shocked about that idea. I couldn't agree with this idea. I think being women must be very clean and polite. If Japan take this idea, the image of Japanese women, which maybe clean and polite and calm, can be broken.
In the case of Japan, It has a traditional shape of women for a long time.
So, regardless of Japan, I think women must wear the shirt and behave politely not like barbarian.

Homeless culture

Last night, my friend from Canada came to visit Machida so we decided to go out for dinner. It had been almost 2 months since I last saw him so we had alot to catch up on, and we talked non-stop. I had so much fun!!

I am going to write about the homeless culture in Japan. I personally feel that Japanese homeless people are very creative. In Canada, most homeless people had no shelter, so they simply slept on the streets or infront of a building. Contrary to that, Japanese homeless people make their own shelter and they try to make themselves feel at home. The difference I see in homeless people in Japan and Canada is that Japanese homeless people doesn't really beg for money or food while almost every homeless person I saw in Canada would ask for change.
In class, it was mentioned that some people choose to be homeless. I was surprised to hear that at first, but I think that those people might've felt tied down by their family, always working with the pressure from his family, not respected by family members, or lack of freedom. Maybe the can't afford to pay the rent, or can't be bothered to pay for gas and electricity. Maybe they seek for people in the same situation who would understand and appreciate what they are going through.

Remember Pearl Harbor

Today I saw this interesting movie called "Pearl Harbor". It's a movie about an unannounced military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on the morning of December 7, 1941. It resulted in the United States' entry into World War II. The attack was intended as a preventive action in order to keep the U.S. Pacific Fleet from influencing the war that the Empire of Japan was planning in Southeast Asia, against Britain and the Netherlands, as well as the U.S. in the Philippines.

After watching this film as a Japanese, I felt so complicated and felt sorry for the people who were sacrificed in this tragedy.
Attacking the harbor suddenly and killing the innocent civilian people was an awful thing to do.
But to be honest, although I felt sorry for the America, I think there was some kind of a reason for the Japanese government to carry out this operation.
And I want to find out why this tragedy occurred someday.

thanks for reading.
Hello everyone, is everyone doing good??
Yes! Its Friday today!! The weekend has begun... Since my full time occupation became a university student, time flies like a shooting star. Does everybody feel like the same way? A week goes so quick. Is this because I'm enjoying my life or is it because I'm not focused about myself and time is leaving me behind??
Anyway, I recognised I've completely forgotten to go on-blog (I meant go-online kind of thing) last week and write about the banana man (maybe it was 2weeks ago!). I've read some people’s opinion about what they thought about the relationship between the guy and the banana master. I've used my imagination as well, but I thought as everyone’s pretty much talked about the relationship between the guy and the banana master, I’d like to talk about the relationship between “me” and the banana.
When I used to live in the UK, banana was more like my everyday life. Banana was something close to me. It was everywhere, banana was a partner in my life. Banana for breakfast, banana for snacks, banana for lunch, banana after school, banana before a football match, banana for dinner (maybe I’m being a bit ridiculous) I've been eating banana’s all day but I still love bananas!! The good thing is they’re healthy, buy it when they’re green they last long! Did you know that banana in terms of its nutritional value is a rare food, it changes how quick the energy is released depending on its colour? When it’s hard and green, sugar levels are low and it releases energy slowly, when its ripe and brownish-black, sugar levels are extremely high and the energy is released fast once it’s consumed! Oh well, I sound like a banana master as well!! lol

Japanese culture

Good afternoon.
Today is fine day but too hot!

I want to explain about "otaku."
Otaku means people who is quite fanmiliar with animation, or comic books.
Otaku loves the 2nd dimension characters. So they correct dolls of characters.
Many otaku gather around Akihabara because Akihabara has many shops. In those shops, various kind of dolls are sold.

Oh, I have to go class.
I'll explain about MOE next time!

good!

Hi!everyone! It is very good weather today. it is like summer today.
On this Tuesday, I attended the camp of ESS discussion. The senior was very kind.
I was very surprised one of senior's house was very gig and clean.
I think discussion is very interesting but very difficult.
I regretted I couldn't attend Karaoke after the camp.
If I have a chance to attend again, I want to attend and sing very much.
Hello!! I would like to explain the word " otaku".
Otaku is those people who are interested in comics, games or animation. And Akihabara is a Mecca for them. They visit Akihabara frequently and are putting all their energy into such specific tastes.
Next, I explain the word " moe".
Moe is pink fuzzy warm feeling when see cute girl wearing a costume such as character of comics or games and maid.

orz....

OMG!! I forgot to submit a report of kirisutokyo!!
I asked teacher to recieve my report. But, teacher may not recieve my report...
I hope the teacher recieve my report. I worried about points. I want to get points.
i don't want to fail!! Help me, god!!!....orz.

homeless culture

Hello again. lol

About the homeless culture, I sometimes get very mesmerized by their lifestyle.
Would you be able to live in a park without any shelter?
They try to look for bottles that become money, and that's how they earn money for some people.
Being homeless might seem very unpleasing, but some people actually enjoy being homeless, I think.
Also I think that is due to the community they have there. They have their own friends and they help each other to survive.

Wow.
Well I'm going to sleep now.
Good night! again.

OTAKU♥

Hey everyone!

I see everybody's blogging on about the otaku video we saw the other day.

There were four key words:

萌え, コスプレ,ツンデレ, and ブリッコ

They explained "moe" as pink fuzzy feeling, and that really made me laugh. lol

I thought that was kind of right, but at the same, nowadays not only otaku boys say it, but we girls say it too.

We say it when we feel a boy is cute, or we even say it to girls say.

Not only second dimension.

"Tsundere" was explained as "icy hot". I guess this is correct in a way, but the way they explained it, was I thought totally wrong. Tsundere is not all the time being rude, but sometimes they act like they hate you, but the other times, they are really sweet and act like they like you. For example, in maid cafes, when you enter the cafe they act really rude, but when you leave, they say things like "don't go"

Not only maids do this, but some girls today do this.

I hope Mr. Armstrong kind of got the idea!!

Good night!

Descripition of what I wondered

I would like to write down my experience and what I have been wondering through it. When I was caught in a train accident on Saikyo-Line, accompanying my friends, on our way to Higashi-Koshigaya-Lake Town, a big shopping centre, I first wondred why the train had stopped. Looking at the landscape out of the window of the train, there were no places on which to land. Soon, I heard the announcement made that the train had been rendered due to make a sudden braking due to having run over a person. But fortunately, it was not our train but another train up to Shinjuku Station that had run over him. Ours was not into but from Shinjuku Station. As soon as the announcement was made, everyone around me started to finger his or her mobile phone and complain. I understand it.But is it the usual case in Tokyo that the death on the railroad is treated that way because it is the death of only one person? Also I cannot understand why no one did not recognise the person who had killed himself. If someone had been the shoulder for him to rely on, he would have known better than to commit suicide.

i'm sleepy

Good evening! :)

This Tuersday, I went to karaoke with my club menbers and kept singing all over the night.
It was very fun but I'm little tired. I wanted to sleep, but I had some works that I had to do on Wednesday, so I couldn't sleep two days!
So I'm still sleepy..
I want to know how can I wake up in 3rd class..

Today I want to talk about the article of topless students.
This article was really surprised me.
I don't agree with these students, but I agree with Heidi Marshall. His opinion is "Men shouldn't be half-naked in public, either."
I think wearing clothes is moral. Of course I know each country have each culture. But I think "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."
This problem is so difficult.

I want to sleep soon.
Good night!

Otaku

I write about the movie about Otaku I saw on last Friday.
In this movie, two foreigners talk about Otaku words.
they explain "Moe"is a pink fuzzy feeling which Otaku feel when they meet 2 dimension characters. but, i don't think so. Not only Otaku but also not Otaku people feel "Moe".
Not Otaku people also feel Moe when they see something cute. I think Moe is feeling which
all people can feel when they see something cute.
"Tundere" is icy hot. A Tundere girl say Shine! Otaku kimoi! when she meet Otaku.
But, I think Tundere is a girl who is not obedient and take blunt attitude when she talk to a man she love. So, a Tundere girl don't say Shine.
”Cosupure” stands for costume play. People who do Cosupure role-play characters they like.
"Burikko" fake their cuteness.
This movie is interesting.

About that film

This is about that OTAKU film. First of all, about "moe", he describes it very well with his excellent imagination! Actually, I also do not know well about the definitions of the technical otaku terms. but as far as I am concerned, "Tundere" is the feeling of something like ambivalence, in which aspect I think he is right, but I also think that it is too extreme to define Tundere as saying "DIE " on one hand and " I LIKE YOU" on the other hand. An example best fit for "Tundere" is, as far as I am concerened, Asuka Langrey's attitude against Shinji Ikari, from Neon Genius Evangelion.

As for all other, I think they are right.

OTAKU CULTURE!!!

hey good evening everybody!!
I'm kind of hyper right now because its like almost past 12:00...and now I can't go to sleep...haha

well, anyway, I would like to share you guys about the definitions of otaku culture words here. I think the word "moe" and "Cosplay" was explained well in the movie we watched. The pink warm fuzzy feeling? I guess. I don't think no one can explain better than that! :P and as the movie said, "Cosplay" just means costume role play, they are mostly used when people wear animated costumes. "Tsundere" and "burikko" that they mentioned in the movie sounded kind of different. "tsundere" actually means "tsuntsun-deredere" which means they would act mean and as if they don't like them at first(they never says "DIE OTAKU!" and stuff though.lol), but they would sometimes be nice(I can't find the right words for this...) because they actually likes them. The word "burikko" does fake their cuteness as the movie said, and especially in front of boys that they like. I think.

About Otaku

Hello! I'd like to write about my opinion about the video about otaku words.
"Moe" I thought the film was explaining pretty good about this word. To tell the truth, I can't really imagine better answer than "Pink warm fuzzy feeling"lol If I explain this word to foreign people, I think I'll say that it's nearly equal to the word "like".
"Cosplay" is a liking for some kind of people that likes to wear a same uniform as the character of animation or comics.
"Tundere" is a kind of personality that act like perversely to the people who they like. This kind of people can't be obediently and say something that they don't really think so. I don't think tundere say "Die! Otaku, die!".
"Burikko" is personality that act like they are really cute. This word usually used for girl. I didn't know that this word means that to make oneself up to look younger. Is that meaning right? I don't know.
Well, I don't know the detail about the words, so maybe it is wrong. But this is my opinion of the film.
Good evening!
Well, yesterday, I went to "sweets paradise" for lunch with my friends.
Since I live alone, I don't eat cakes often so I was really exited.
We had 70min to eat, but I was eating the whole time.
We all felt kind of sick for eating too much, so we went to karaoke.
Karaoke is one of my favorite things to do when I have a day off so I had a great time.
What's more, it was really cheap because it was a weekday!
I couldn't eat dinner because I still felt sick, but I had a great day!
Do you guys like to eat sweet things?

12th post

Today I didn't have I.E listening but I havn't checked the portal site...and got in a classroom with nobody in it.Last time I did the same thing when my french class was cancelled out.
I stayed there a bit and I thought rooms without people with dimmed lights make me sort of relaxed.
I might be just weird. But I knew that already.

Explaining "Otaku" in english

I think trying to explain about otaku is one of the hardest assignments I have ever done in English. This is how I would explain these words:

Moe: Moe is a feeling that is close to how you feel when you see something cute. However it is a little different because it is mostly used on things that are unrealistic, such as characters inside anime and games.
Cosplay: I think cosplay is easy to understand because it is a mixture of two English words, "costume" and "role playing". The kind of costumes that are worn are, costumes from anime and comics, and also clothes like maids. The person who is wearing these costumes will "role play" meaning act like the character he/she is cosplaying.
Tsundere: I think Tsundere can be a little hard becasue it is a mixture of two Japanese special words. In Japanese there is something called "擬態語Gitaigo". Gitaigo is a special word in Japanese that was made just from the feeling of things. For example, If you smile suspiciously, it is expressed "にやにやniyaniya" and if you move around not knowing what to do, then it is expressed "うろうろurouro". So, Tsundere is "つんつんtsuntsun" + "でれでれDeredere". Tsuntsun is acting a little mean and not nice. It means being a cold person. Deredere is being flirtatious and coquette. So, tsundere is two words that are opposite put together. So if you are tsundere then you are kind of shelfish because you act differently depeding on your mood. The video said that it is saying something but meaning the opposite thing such as saying "die" means "I like you". I think this is COMPLETELY WRONG.
Brikko: Brikko is trying to act young and cute excessively. In the video it was saying someone who is old like more then 40 can be burikko. I think that even if you are in your 20s you can be burikko. However older people are more likely to be called burikko because of their age.

Finally done...Oww my head hurts from too much thinking.

Otaku Culture

The movie about Otaku cultures I watched last Friday was really interesting, and I didn't know that so many foreign people were interested in Otaku cultures.
In this video, a otaku master(?)explained "moe" and "cosplaying" correctly. When a otaku looks at 2 dimension character and things which looks unreal, he gets a pink fuzzy feeling. It is "moe".
"cosplaying" is rollplaying a character and otaku wears the same costume the character wears. He never breaks the character. However, I think "tsundere" and "burikko" were a little different from the way we use it. "burikko" is a girl who behave in order to be looked at her as a cute girl. "Burikko" isn't "wakazukuri".
After I saw it, I thought it was so hard to explain a subtle difference in nuance in English.

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Hi,

I'm going to write my definitions about the words I saw on the movie we watched on last Friday. I'm not familiar with these words so I'm not sure if I define them correctly.

Moe: A word to express when you feel your mind heats up when you see cute stuffs or people.
Cosplay: When people wear costumes to enjoy being the characters in animation.
Tsundere: This is a combination behavior of "tsuntsun" and "deredere." Tsuntsun means when a person behaves like he/she is in a bad mood and talks to people as if he/she is mad a them. Deredere means when a person behaves as if he/she loves them.
Usually, people act tsundere to hide their feelings of love to whom they want to go out. In most cases, I think this behavior is expressed by girls.
Brikko: When a girl behaves in cute way because she wants people to think she is cute. I think this word can be said for any generations. But it is not an appropriate word to say I think.

Cross-Culture

At first, I was surprised that women in Maine took off their shirts and marched side by side. In Japan, its action can't imagine.
I think it isn't good to do that because gender between men and women cannot be avoid although we have equality right. There are the treating men and women equality and the being lingered on gender. So this event is not good, I think.

Recovery

I've been sick for a while, and I'm falling behind with work!!!
It's probably too late now, but I'm going to write about the relationship between the two guys in the banana video. I think that the guy with the banana is a person the main guy knows by sight, probably from his English class in college. The main guy set up a party and the banana guy was invited indirectly through their mutual friends.

In the short animation film, 'Clod', I think the author is trying to tell us that life is one big cycle. And no matter what happens to you, you will find your way out of the problem eventually.

japanese culture

Good evening!! I'm going to write about the film about "otaku" we saw the other day.
The movie was funny! And interesting! It's kind of surprising to me that the otaku culture is really popular to foreign people.
I thought the definitions of the words were a bit wrong. I don't know much about otaku, so my image of the words may be wrong too but I'll write them down.

I thought the explanation for "moe" and "cosplay" was pretty accurate.
Pink fuzzy warm feeling...lol
"Tundere" doesn't only mean to hide your true feelings and say rude things.
It definitely doesn't mean that if you say die to a person, you like him/her.
My definiton of "tundere" is the gap of people. When people that usually take cold manners to people, say sweet things or take cute actions, we call them "tundere".
"tun"
"Burikko" isn't limited to old women. When girls hide their nature and tries to act cute, we call them burikko.Burikko girls often tries to act stupid too.
As Hikari said, most of the girls don't like burikko girls. I don't either.

I wonder how the otaku culture will develop.
Good night!

Live Concert

Last Sunday, I went to a small concert where my senior of the music club played his own songs with his band. It was so much fun that their tunes sounded old like in 60's, but the message they conveyed was common these days; themes about obsessive love, boredom of daily life and ingenious philosophy that no one can understand! The group performed well in technique and I was almost addicted to the music all through the live. By the way, I'm scheduled to do a session next week where new members of my activity must play one Beatles song or two. I'm assigned "Get Back" and "Money (cover song)". While I haven't had any practice now, seniors say "Don't worry, everyone is the same; they are all lazy and one of them doesn't even know the name of stuff they're to do". I like this club because of this atmosphere of loose and freedom.

11th post Japanese subculture

To be honest, I'm probably the one in class to get in touch with "otaku" culture. Darn it...It's all over the place, it's just impossible to stay unscathed by it! Well...I go at least two times a year in comic or game conventions, I use my computer for hours at home, and...sigh I wear glasses. But I don't go to Akihabara much because it's simply too far, and I don't have any figurines at home (Don't you think it's an waste of space?). So I'm not much of an sample to write these kind of things.

So, I had an interview with my unfortunate friend about "moe". Of course his first reaction was quite...no, very nasty (I also regretted that I have asked him) but when I said I would use his answers for academic means, he thankfully cooperated with me.
Firstly, I have took the details of the video we saw and my friend had a look at them. After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, my friend said that these are about an very blased view of an "perfect" otaku (Of course by sarcastic means). You would rarely see one even in Akihabara and most of them are just actors doing an joke, he added that most of the majority of otaku like feigning and will laugh in the face at you when you are attracted to the bait. He also said that too many people mistake that "moe" is simply about an attraction or attachment to certain objects that anyone could have. Not just 2-dimensional characters.

So...finally I asked him "Then is it possible to have that sort of attachment to things that are very unsuspected?"
He answered "Yes, last time I saw an Internet board that displays "moe" on vikings with hulking muscles and horned helmets."

"...eh?"

How to use banana in seven unexpected ways

It will be cloudy tomorrow, according to my friend.
I hope the weather hold clear.

In this article, I would like to talk about the short movie " How to use banana in seven unexpected way".

Firstly I talk about the relationship of "the Banana master" and the apartment guy. I think the banana master is a one of his friends who were invited to his party, and he is someone who major in banana at university or, maybe he is a professor. Because he too much loved banana, he found not only eating, watching but also using were favorable. That is why, he has those special, and useful way by using banana. I think they have a good teacher/student relationship or friendship.

Secondly, I talk about the irony of it. This movie show us that using banana is useful for our daily life. I agree with it to some extent. However, question is that does these way is really effective? If you want to polish leather, it is far better using oil than banana, is'nt it? If you have no oil, only you buy it. Moreover, this movie tells us that to clean the room, banana is effective. However, the more we use banana to clean the room, the more garbage of banana will increase. This is really ironic. It is rather counterproductive using banana to clean the room.

However, Icould enjoy this movie. These unexpected ways seem trifling, but it makes me fun.
