An industrialized city. The story was based on boys’ memory, so I think that it happened a long time ago.

 

Conflict

The lost thing is lost and the boy has no idea where he should take him.

The lost thing found a place it belongs to.

The lost thing is a symbol of something that does not draw public attention

The Department of Odds and Ends is a symbol of society.

The train and the houses are the symbol of ordinary in this story.

 

Irony

An expert couldn’t figure out where the lost thing belongs to.

Despite caring about the lost thing a lot, the boy forgot about it.
