The lost thing

    Setting:

A steampunk town, possibly around 1907 because that's when the old types of tvs were made.

    Conflict:

The man finds a "Lost thing", which looks like a mix of a mantis and a Nepenthes plant but acts like a dog. He finds the sanctuary of Lost things to release the thing to where the other Lost things are.

    Climax:

I believe the climax was when the man found all the other Lost things. With so many in one huge area, it gives the watcher a sense of awe and surprise. The scene also shows lots of color compared to the dull, mostly yellow and beige color palette used in all the other scenes. Thus, it feels special and like the climax.

    Symbols:

Lost thing: I believe the "lost thing" symbolizes imagination. The man said that he slowly started to see less of them, and also had a suit on. This means that as he got a job unlike the beginning of the story and worked more often like other adults in the train, he used his imagination less and less.

In the beginning, the lost thing apparently couldn't be seen by anyone else, and that also ties itself to this long theory: You cannot see anyone else's imagination.

    Irony:

The Lost thing is described to not be able to be seen by the people at the beach, and the man's parents found it annoying despite their son showing so much interest towards it. And at the end, the man himself says that he doesn't see so much of the lost things, showing he is slowly becoming an adult like the people around him even though he showed more passion towards the Lost thing in the beginning of the video.

    Theme:

Everybody has a memory, habit or imagination they don't remember, no matter how recent or amazing it had been to them at the time it happened.
