In Hugo their are three main characters.
Desma, the girl with the dark hair. Celestine, the girl with the light hair. Moth man, the human shaped moth.(I guess he was Hugo.)
I guess Desma and Celestine are in same science laboratory and they both want the award for the laboratory works. Although Celestine is a kind of girl that loved by everyone, so she tries to keep good friends with Desma, but Desma won't listen to Celestine and pushes her away. So, at first, Desma treat the Hugo just as a laboratory works to win the contest, but the story goes on, Desma changes her way of thinking. She tries to save the Hugo from suffering, and ask Celestine for help. At last, Hugo recovered from suffering and fly away in the night sky.
Relationship in this film, I think it was story of the importance of friends. At first, Desma won't listen what Celestine saying, and her attitude to her was not nice. Although in the end, Desma said to Celestine that she is only one that she can ask for help, I think they would be a good friend in the future. Also there were relationships between Desma and Hugo too. Desma changed the way of thinking about Hugo in the end. She treated as Hugo that he is living things, not laboratory works.
