Doryokuka

Good morning! This is from my train.
It's hard to make posts in a train, but I want to make good use of my commuting time!
Today, let me write about one of my favorite words.

One of my favorite Japanese words is doryokuka.
According to one Japanese dictionary, doryokuka means someone who continues training in order to realize his or her goal or someone who tries to improve his or her abilities or skills.
Doryokuka is a industrious person in English.
Why do I like this word?
This is probably because of my own experience.
For 19 years, I have enjoyed a lot of hobbies such as baseball, shogi, or studying English.
I firmly believe that I can do such things because I have made a lot of efforts, spending much time.
What I am now is nothing but piles of my efforts!
In addition, during my high school life, I encountered with many doryokuka students.
All of them looked very cool and nice.
I have wanted to be a person like them.
