Varmints

I saw this short story for the first time last week.
At first, I thought the story was very happy because very beautiful and comfortable nature appeared in the beginning of the story.
However, soon after that, suddenly, the story became very dark and many high buildings were seen.
When seeing that, I found the story was not happy at all.
Due to the rapid urbanization, the air around that area and people there were polluted.
Finally, they became sick.
I've got two themes from that story.
First, extreme industrialization and urbanization have had bad effects on human and nature.
In the story, people got sick and nature was lost.
Second, the creater of the story gives us warning about our future.
If we continue today's convenient life, a similar situation can occur in reality, so the creater wants us to reconsider about our life.
