Modern Times

Today I'm going to write about the short movie Modern Times. Firstly, the setting of this movie is in the 60's, there was no enough job for people after the WWⅡ. So the main actor Chaplin is the worker of a factory, but suddenly he was fired because of the unstable management.  The main theme is that the people who were struggling to get a job under the severe circumstances but such people lived their lives strongly. So in this short movie, we can see many scenes that people who try to make their lives better and never giving up to have a hope to do that. So the symbol of this movie is the people who actually lived in that times, I think. However, the irony of this movie is that regardless of chaplain's efforts to get a stable job and make his girlfriend happy, he often fired his job and helped by his girlfriend. And also, the conflict is that even he get a job, he always cause conflict between the maneger and him because he always makes mistakes. And in the end, I mean climax, he and his girlfriend get over many kinds of conflicts, and swear that 'we are getting along, and never say die'.
